  1. If you want to get into PvP I'd say ToFN. We have quick queues, some of the best ranked players in the world and regular open world PvP. If you hate PvP I'd go TRE.
  2. I can't speak for the US servers, but here in Europe ToFN (PvP server) is very healthy
  3. 1. I'd recommend starting with a new lvl1 character as it will prepare you more for end game. It doesn't take long to get to 65 and the stories for each class are what many players claim to be the best thing in this game. 2. Yes you can create another char to go back and do them. Once you start the new exp you can't go back on that particular char. 3. Yes it is healthy. There are instances on planets that, prior to the exp, never had instances. Queues pop often. The game is also making a ton of money albeit largely due to the Cartel Market. Population and Q times does depend on the server of course. 4. PvE levelling is too easy in many people's (including mine). PvP has balance issues, but I love it. I don't really do end game PvE so can't comment on that. 5. I'd say being a sub gives you the freedom to not have to put up with the horrible restrictions that non-subs have. There are many such restrictions including cosmetic gear restrictions, having to buy tokens to do stuff like warzones, having a credit cap etc etc. Sounds very painful. Plus as a sub you get cosmetic goodies every now and then. 6. The best thing I can suggest is to find a friendly, active guild on an active server that is willing to help new/returning players. Hope this helps. Welcome back. Good hunting!
  4. As previous people have said, you will play better on the class that you have the most fun on. The reason for this is that in order to be good in PvP one of the things you will need are quick reaction times and "finger memory". This only comes by playing that particular class a lot. You'll only play a class a lot if you enjoy it a lot. It is easy to get to 65 nowadays so why not try both and see which one you like the most. Both classes do great in regs and have issues in ranked. I tend to play better in ranked on my merc than with any of my other classes because it is my favourite class and I play it every day. I still spend a lot of time dead in ranked, but that is due to the said issues. Victory in ranked on my merc always tastes sweeter because it's harder to achieve and I have fun playing that class. I can't really speak about raids as I'm a PvPer.
  5. Yeah...Mercs definitely need something like this for ranked. I prefer ideas that fit with the "gadgety" feel of the Bounty Hunter class and a smoke screen fits the bill nicely. Agree with rocket out needing to be usable while stunned. The other idea I like, which was brought up in a similar thread, is our shield having some sort of reflect like juggs. They could code it to only reflect player damage so that it won't affect PvE balance. I'm hoping that they will do something before the coming ranked season, but I know I'm getting my hopes up and it will be yet another season of my merc laying on the arena floor while my team mates sigh and try to do their best to compensate. Their metrics show that mercs do badly in ranked and it is so frustrating that the players come up with simple fixes like this that will never get implemented.
  6. Hi, There are some player kill achievements for the Gree event (killing players carry orbs etc). This afternoon a few guildies and I went on one of our hunts to do this, but, after killing a few orb carrying players, the kills were not credited towards the achievement for neither myself or my guilders. They were lvl65 kills rather than lowbies.
  7. I have no interest in PvE gear unless it's something I would use cosmetically in outfit designer. As somebody else previously posted, I'd prefer orange shells. A nice mount/title at the end would be good too. This would then be a reward for both PvEers and PvPers. An incentive for people to do it again on multiple characters: Make the rewards different for different classes. For example, the title reward could be "Eternal Hunter", "Eternal Jedi" etc depending on which class I complete it on. The armour shells could also be class specific depending on which class I complete it on. Possibly even a class specific mount depending on what class I complete it on. Or....they could possibly do something similar to the ranked token vendor idea. That way we could grind it or not grind it depending on how many tokens we want for the reward that we want to buy from the vendor.
  8. Are there things I don't like about KotFE? Sure...I preferred the old way of gearing comps, I do not like the easiness/OP comps and I do not like the comp gift grind. I get frustrated by bugs in the game at times. They could have pushed the game a bit more with the new film. Do many others feel this way? Sure. Is the game dying? Absolutely not. People have been predicting this game's imminent death since just after release. One day it'll be true, but not soon. This game makes a ton of money for Bioware so they are unlikely to turn off the lights any time soon. Since KotFE, I often see two instances on many planets now whereas before KotFE it was usually only fleet and capital worlds that had multiple instances. I'm also meeting a lot more new/returning players than with previous expansions too. I hope they are not put off by reading rubbish threads like these.
  9. Ambitious Warrior Chest is a little bit similar. You might have to experiment with some dyes etc...maybe black/black or black/grey. Hope this helps.
  10. Hi, Could we have Aurra Sing's hairstyle available to us please? I'd pay good money for this. We already have something similar for cathar so it shouldn't be too much work to make this available for humans too. The pony tail length would need to be the same length as the cathar one as longer ones clip with jet packs. Regards
  11. Hi, As has already been stated, getting companion influence up to 50 can be an extremely tedious and expensive gift grind now, especially for companions that aren't picked up through the 1-50 class story. Two of the companions gain influence through playing in warzones, which is great for me as I do warzones anyway so it's nice and convenient. It also brings new players to warzones, which maybe good for PvP in the long run. Could we have other companions gain influence in this way too please? For example, Akaavi Spar and Torian could gain influence through doing the BBA event. Some others may gain influence through certain operations and other events or dailies. Could even link some to GSF to inject some new players there too. Not only is it a nicer way to gain influence, but it also encourages players to try different aspects of the game that they might not have thought about before. Regards, Kodora.
  12. I'd quite like it to work like the fear ability that locks have in WoW where it forces the mob to run away (in terror if sith, in pacifism if Jedi), but in a random direction. This would also give it a possible entertaining downside if the mob runs into a group of other mobs and aggros them. Kinda like the mob suddenly coming to his senses and alerting his mates.
  13. Yeah I agree. When we first got this skill I was hoping it would work like the hunter's disengage in WoW, but it doesn't. It has very limited use in 8v8 if you are in a wide open space, but in arenas there are so many obstacles around that it is useless. Not to mention the fact that you can't use it whilst stunned etc. We should be able to use this whilst stunned/rooted. An added bonus would be the ability to use it while jumping too.
  14. Yeah I know it's a creature, but it can scavenge scrap, slice safe boxes, heal me with its collar etc. Selling my junk would be no more immersion breaking imo. Only way around it right now is to summon another comp and send them to sell it, then summon my nexu back again, which is painful.
  15. Yeah me too. I've tried others, but the lack of voice acting in the others is a bit irritating so I never left this game. Sure, there are annoying things about this game too, but the things I like about this game outweighs those. I'll be trying Blade n Soul in January as it looks pretty good and, if the PvP is as good as it looks, I may be able to overlook the lack of voice acting and grinding and make it my "other game", but I'll be playing Swtor until they turn off the lights.
