  1. Bring it on, bro. You'll notice there is about 19 of me.... See, I used to be kinda big into Castle Age, right? Yea, well....... I have more under random names. Some were recently brought back into action for Castleville. Maybe I have a thing for castles? Really I just have too much free-time at work.
  2. You will -never- have your identity stolen by your name delivered via e-mail. You WILL have it stolen by the clerk at a grocery store, or someone breaking into your HR departments files, electronically or physically. Not by someone having your FIRST AND LAST NAME.
  3. The OP is just complaining to complain, so is just about everyone else who is going "I AGREE! We should have to AGREE before they give out our name!" Don't send the invite to random *** people then. Not to mention your name? Not a big deal. EVERY credit card receipt you have, someone who even LOOKS at your card, someone who runs your name through a registry has your name. You give your card to the random person at Wal-Mart who can follow your car home without a second thought, yet you worry about someone 7 states over having your, likely to be common anyway, name in an e-mail? Wow. I think our fore-fathers are crying in disgust right now.
  4. I actually logged on to say that this thread is completely silly. You're upset because they know your name? It says, in my case "Donavin Northrup (Teodoro) has invited you) It doesn't list my FULL name, my address, last 4 of my credit card, or any major information. Stop being dramatic, and if you're going to complain about something not being "secure" don't play online games. Lock your front door, never answer your phone, and always use fake information for registration. (Not to mention, it's more likely someone who hacks a database uses your information for harm than anything else. So why'd ya register with your real name anyway?)
  5. Not here to debate, or do a classic "I'M LEAVING THIS GAME!!!" Thread (Although I am.) but just for Q&A purposes so people can understand why they're losing members. I would like to list some of the reasons why I think this game is very good, and some why it killed it for me. The good: The classes are fairly unique in some cases compared to their carbon copy. The Powertech is a very interesting class, as it the Smuggler healer. I work 80+ hours a week, so finding times to grind levels in an EQ2 fashion aren't really possible for me like they were in the days of EQ, however SW Gave the feeling of actually earning the levels in EQ, while still having the mindless speed of leveling of WoW. Three tiers of raiding, with the first being PUGgable. Very nice. My first character was a Sith Juggernaut - I leveled with others all the way to 50 and we all LOVED my story. Made me realize I didn't mind if the game bombed a month in because just the "RPG" was worth it. Sadly I got, argueably, the best story first, because my BH and Sages quest line sucked in comparison. Good and Bad: Money doesn't scale well with levels at all. On a new server for the first 25 levels you're sc****** by, but then around mid Chapter 2 all of a sudden you have more money than you can even begin to figure what to do with. PvP is extremely unbalanced. While in a game like WoW/EQ2 where it's supposed to be about PvE I would say "Don't balance because of PvP." However, in the case of SW, a game that emphasized a lot on it's PvP, you will need to balance due to it. The bad: The game was released with more bugs than I've ever seen in an MMO. (And I'm played, literally, every major MMO released to date. Beta for almost all of them - Quite a lot of Korean ones as well.) Pathetic customer service - Most help wouldn't even be given if not for other players in the forums helping. When they do help, they usually give the wrong info (Like in countless of the Support Forum threads) And no: Just because the game is "Only 2 months old" doesn't excuse these bugs. Not only do they -still- exist, but the game isn't 2 months old. It's 2 months released. It's years old. I haven't had this issue, but people running 9800GTX+ are having less than 5 FPS or even lower while playing. This game doesn't have the graphics that would require such a strain on a computer. EQ2 is currently the highest GPU intense MMO out, and a 9800GTX+ can play at 45 FPS with Medium, and 3000 particles per second for spells. Honesty there isn't much else to say. The bugs cover 90% of it, and the customer service just tops it off. Maybe in 6 months if they manage to not go F2P by then, it'd be nice and less buggy - I hope. My suggestion? Merge servers, fire 90% of your terrible customer service people, get out of this stupid "Escalation Keyword" system from the 80's, and realize it's 2012 and you're competing with much bigger companies. I'll elaborate on "bugs" for just a second. My Powertech while tanking - If I charge after I get knocked back (Because every boss does a knockback basically) about 1/3rd of the time, I will hover in the air and not be able to use anything besides my Filler attack, and Flame Swirl. "Can't do that while moving." If I can find a ledge to jump off of, it'll fix it usually. Soa, the BUGGIEST ENCOUNTER I'VE EVER SEEN. STILL bugs, constantly. The bugs are effin' obvious as hell to. If he gets agro on someone in the shard, when you break the shard, he evades and resets. Holy eff how complicated. The fight isn't even that intense to need a year to fix it. Ilum -..... Ilum, in itself, is a bug. The bug in release that listed every server as "high" pop, so plenty of people rolled on servers that now have 20 people. So what happens? Those servers with 20 people now have 5, because 15 all went to the ACTUAL high pop server. But I digress. I hope everyone that enjoys this game even with it's flaws doesn't get jipped by going F2P. SoE usually gives bonuses to the real members whenever F2P activates, atleast.
  6. This thread is just.... what? The OP is complaining because it "isn't Star Wars-sy" but then when corrected just goes 'PvP is crap, Ilum is....' - ....what? Just because the game isn't very GOOD doesn't mean it 'isn't Star Wars-sy.' It reminds me a lot of KotOr to be honest. Only, like an alpha version of KotoR
  7. While I am glad you enjoy it, it is a failed launch. A few of us will play, but alas, the game will be F2P soon. Following F2P will also follow open-source, meaning private servers that work better than the actual game will follow suit. How fun.
  8. lolrwesrs? You don't have to wait for an animation (Except Dirty Kick) to do the next attack. The only attack that Ops have that is legit-quicker than Scoundrel is their stun. They can knife on the move - We can't kick on the move. The animations don't affect combat -at all-. If you're basing when you can attack off animations, then you probably shouldn't be PvPing seriously, just for fun.
  9. To be honest, I have no real issue with how often it goes down. Every MMO does early on. The problem -I- have? The fact that NOT ONLY are 90% of the bugs that were here on release, are -still- here, but they get worse. Anyone "Like" them on FB? You see the video of "Things to come"? The ad about the "future" shows you the ability to move and re-size your UI.... That's it.... That's cool.
  10. A lot more people would know what "Dual Targeting" is if you called it a "Defensive Target". They actually had that feature -perfect- in WAR.
  11. Four hours to put in a "fix" to make enemies in Ilum count towards credits and everything? Not to mention that uhhh Y KNOW. I'm sure they still won't count.
  12. My PT is rank 29and not even 50(47). umad? Haha.
  13. The WoW derailment is DELIGHTFUL. However, from a programming perspective - A WZ queue is MUCH MUCH simpler than setting up a dungeon finder tool. About 20 times simpler. Not to mention, LFG Tool killed servers. Breaks the entire 'community' and everyone steals anything they can. But with the LOLSTUPID loot system this game does in raids, it would probably duplicate it in LFG as well.
  14. He will a lot of times get "Power to the Core" anyway, however your tank should then use his CDs (Jug dominated with Saber Ware right here) to negate it. However, it is bugged a lot and he'll get Power to the Core, no matter what. When the cell drops down, and he goes immune - He doesn't get the buff. It is, however, hard to get out of it before it slams down and kills you since he doesn't vanish so you don't know.
  15. Legacy level 50 is just... silly. I know someone who plays 12-14 hours a day and spends most of it questing/leveling different characters and he's only... What - 30? 50 is just... silly, haha. The game isn't even entertaining enough to play 16 hours a day!
  16. Removing it would make it so when PvPing 3 unflagged healed could be waiting there to rez the person farming people. While their flag system is silly in it takes an obscene amount of time to go away AND your companions healing someone flagged, flags you - The rezzing part is fine. They just need to show you that he is flagged prior to rez.
  17. While the OP did come across as a brat, he has a good point. Full being Evil 5 or Good 5 just "forces" you to do things. Half way through my Juggernaut's game play I found myself going out of my way to say "evil" things just so I could use my new relics. Kinda silly, in all reality.
  18. 2 of us have 3 50s, I only have one, and almost a second, others have 1/2... Asking all of us to re-roll isn't a good thing. Especially since I, at most, get 40 minutes to play with the exception of Sat/Sunday. Having a "network of friends" doesn't really matter when we came to the game with 13 of us, and only 5 of us remain (Most left due to Customer Service, game issues, or just boredom) and we were fine with being able to use companions. If the reasoning of raids were to "Require 8 human people". Companions wouldn't be allowed in battle, at all. And the long winded percentage and "WoW based" reply... I don't even know what you're trying to imply. On a side-note, when we made on this server, it was listed as "High" pop, and had 40 people on fleet... on day of release. And I figure "Maybe most are our leveling." But over-time people have just stopped playing, or switched to their friend servers.
  19. Not a troll. Prior to 1.1.1 (Maybe 1.1?) Companions were allowed. Can even YouTube a lot of people using Quinn as their healing for Annihilator. Not sure if them BEING allowed was the bug, or is this was a fix or what. http://www.youtube.com/user/hairytoothgaming#p/search/9/5bm5BjnlhA8 You'll notice Quinn is their eighth member. He's in the back healing. But then once a patch came out, if you had 8 people it would SPAM you in red letters "Companions not allowed." everytime someone got more than 5 feet away. "Operation size limit reached." So I guess to fix this they disabled companions.
  20. Why was this change made? First time we've raided since the patch (Maybe 1.1.1?) that got rid of it, and we basically can't raid now. Our server, during prime-time, has 8 people in Imperial Fleet. 5 of those are us. Three of us would manually control out pets, and we'd be able to clear everything. Went into EV? Couldn't clear but 2 bosses with only 5 of us. Either merge servers, or allow pets back into the Operations. My only guess was that it was because it "discouraged player activity" but let's be honest, your companions weren't gonna be putting out HM DPS or HPS. When I looked it up, someone said the fix went out to fix the issue people were getting where if someone zoned out of the raid it would spam with "Companion characters aren't allowed in Ops." Which sounds wrong because it wouldn't have said that prior to patch, it would have just summoned one. Only other thing I can come up with is the Heroic abilities "Only usable with pets" but you could easily just lock that ability in operations.... MORAL OF THE STORY! Merge server, or give low-pop servers some kind of compensation for raiding. Game is failing, quick, and no matter how much my guild and I talk about staying, if EQ2 or WoW had -anything- going on right now, none of us would be here. So let's fix some **** before one of those two gets an expansion or patch, eh?
  21. Then we'd have people "I'm tired of confirming everything, every time." posts.
  22. Seeing as they left Operatives and Smuggs sit there and 3 shot people for, OH I DUNNO, over a month. I'd say they don't really have an issue with you.
  23. Except your job is to learn to -tank- a mob. Not just "defend the others". They're gonna have agro because you don't know your class, or rotation. Go into a WZ and do 70-100K Damage and 30K protects while in your 30s. Profit.
  24. Normally, I could not be more 'anti LFG' but whenever I play my alt when my friends aren't online I know finding a group is almost impossible due to the fact that the Fleet has 19 people on it on a busy-busy prime-time day. But they also need to do the same for Warzones, and soon. All of my guild is now 50, and outside of running FPs, and HM FPs (Some of us want to PvP) and our server, literally no Republic queues. They used to queue when they could farm level 10s, but once it became 50 only, we dominated them everytime. And they haven't queued since.
  25. Welcome to the wonderful world of BW/EA Moderators.
