  1. I'm looking at an Arkanian damage relic for my DPS Sorceror. I understood that the Elemental one was the correct choice (Arkanian Relic of Elemental Transcendence) but the tooptip says "tech damage", where I'd expect it to say force. Could someone confirm please? I know this has been done, but I can't find any threads with the answer
  2. Have you purchased Advanced Training from the trainer?
  3. I've learned two purple 54 implants from roughly 8 attempts. I was gutted with the first one popped and it was a Command schematic with added prescence stat!
  4. And yet you somehow missed something which Bioware have been advertising non-stop since last year. I've been a sub since day and played constantly. You didn't ask me, so you can't be sure. Consequently you're wrong, as I'm happy with the update.
  5. Just to add to what others have said... Remember this a continuation from Corellia, in level terms. Did you find anything there chanllenging? I didn't really, yet the mobs are much tougher and much more frequent on Makeb. Also, if you and your friend and running the (solo) missions together then of course it'll be easier.
  6. This post is excellent. Well, apart from... Two beers in three hours? Drink faster man! It'll take all day to get drunk at that rate!
  7. Okay, how about "don't like it, keep handing over cash and playing". Better? Of course not. There's nothing more logical than telling someone to stop doing something if they're not happy with it.
  8. Translation: "If you don't share my exact opinion I don't want to hear it." Don't cry when you post something in a public forum and don't get the overwhelming support you assumed would follow.
  9. That's what greed is there for, hence me questioning whether he meant need. Regardless, if kit drops and it's an upgrade to your main (not your alts - we all have alts with different main stats!) you're entitled to need on it and let the RNG decide. The clue is in the language: Need: Require Greed: Desire The only time I pass is when I'm running with friends, guildies or lowbies and think they'll benefit more than me.
  10. Of course it would. If it looked like it was going to be an hour+ I'd either relog as a tank or healer or do something else. I often miss out on heroic daily groups because I'm in GF for FPs and don't want to drop. Having some visibility of the state of the queue would enable to make a call on whether to drop from GF.
  11. What are you pulling your "vast majority" from? It's really not that hard and that's not me being elitist. I'm yet to clear TFB HM but I'd still be annoyed it was nerfed. LI has been nerfed several times now. If you dumb down all content to the lowest common denominator (so that everyone can complete it) then a huge number of players will get bored and leave.
  12. It didn't need a nerf, people just needed to learn the mechanics rather than turning up mashing 1 on their keyboard and hoping the rest would carry them through. With a competent group you could get through there in under 25 minutes.
  13. I got a consistent 750kbps for the download, which is pretty much flat out at my end (that's as high as I ever get).
  14. Oddly, I was thinking of this thread last night when Maelstrom Prison popped and the first thing a 13k hp Sentinel said was "First FP, please give advice". That was fine.... right until the point where he dived into the first mob pack before the tank. So, I pointed out that the tank pulls.... so he pulled another pack of mobs (right off track, which didn't need to be engaged). I swear it was the most patient tank on the server. After several pulls he should have been kicked. He even managed to chain pull two big groups. The tank and other DPS were engaging the first group when he charged into another. You know what? I left him to die and concentrated on healing the other two. What made me finally crack was when he he ninja looted a willpower implant, so I shouted at him in chat. He said sorry which was good for him as I was on the verge of initiating a vote kick. If that had failed, I'd have left the group. Guess he took it to heart as he passed on every piece of loot after that.
  15. Agreed. I've DPS'd in Ops where I've checked out the bosses debuffs and there are several of the same one I've applied, all counting down at different times. Just because I can reapply mine, it doesn't mean I should. It's often a waste of DPS, time and resource. Edit: I would, however, never claim to be a hardcore raider!
  16. Never played WoW, but I feel some of your pain. When healing in Ops I've missed debuffs on players because the images are tiny. Fortunately, the debuff sizes can be altered in tomorrow's 2.0 patch.
  17. Like many, I had some sympathy with the OP at first (although anyone who is kicked from multiple groups in short succession should spot a trend and adjust accordingly). However, from the point that she said she'd deliberatly troll entire groups my feeling turned from sympathy into "I'm glad she's not on my server". Also, please change your usage of word "Elitist" to "Majority". It tends to fit better in the manner you're using it. If you're up front about being new, you should be fine. I ran False Emporer with a 14k tank the other night. At the start he strolled into the first mob pack and did fine. I've seen much better geared tanks fail there before. Anyway, we get the final fight and as Malgus drops in health he didn't bring him to the bridge and we wipe. Someone told him in chat what was required and we go in again... only to wipe on an "unlimited power" cast. Tank writes "WTH?" in chat. At this point it becomes clear that me and the other DPS are doing all the interupts. I asked him if he'd ever run FE before. "No". The healer's clearly pissed off by this point. So, I explained the tactics, we went in (again) and killed him after the two wipes. Mostly the run was okay, but if he'd said he was new at the begining it'd have worked out a lot better. Sure, you can assume he's new if a tank only has 14k hp but who knows if it's an alt and he hasn't run the FP a hundred times on his main? Should have probably asked anyway, but these things are so easy now it's rarely an issue.
  18. I don't want you to do anything. I was suggesting a simple fix an alleged issue people are having. Perverting game play by not using a companion? Very funny. The fact is, it's a minor issue. Yes, it would be ideal if you had the option to turn the double XP off but it's in no way game breaking (as most of the people in this thread have pointed out).
  19. So, don't use a companion. Take your gear off and do it naked. Chain pull groups. Use some imagination. Mad? Whatever gave you that impression? Anyway, I'm not against it being optional in any way, it's just not the end of the world, game breaking element that people make it out to be.
  20. I've been after this for ages. I've got 14 characters and it's a pain logging in and out checking for materials. Not at all, they just need to make it so that bound equipment can't be placed in it.
  21. Why did you have to? You didn't have to skip anything. The only difference it made by being greyed out was that you wouldn't receive any XP, which given your initial complaint is kind of ironic.
  22. It was 11gb for me, although I hadn't used PTS before which may have accounted for the size.
  23. I don't PvP, however, I run 12 level 50s across both sides so switch from Rep to Imp quite a bit. I see general chat on both sides full of comments like "don't queue for PVP if you don't know what you're doing!", "why is PVP on this side full of noobs?" etc etc. I expect it's just your perspective. <troll mode on> Or you're the reason why your teams keep losing
