  1. You guys are probably going to quit once tanks are balanced in swtor, enjoy your OP'd rediculousness while you can.
  2. Nothing is wrong guys, this is coming from a Vanguard so its not like I would lie to maintain my rediculously OP'd status.
  3. Nothing wrong with tanks, just every pure dps class is underpowered I guess...
  4. Passive mitigation/avoidance and temps vs. temps. yeah ok man you sure know your stuff, oh wait you dont grasp dmg reducation or avoidance, nm. I also like how you are telling us that snipers have better defensive cooldowns than a Jugg, you had me for a second. And hey its cool I'm playing a Vanguard now as well.
  5. This topic is far too confusing for the vast majority of the swtor playerbase so let me bring this down a notch. If YOU can wear Heavy armor, use a shield to avoid hits, have temps that allow you to take less dmg YOU should NOT have the same dmg potential as someone who wears light/med armor, has no shield and no defensive utility. I dont care if 2/3rds of your lines are for dps, its a complete joke that you can be full dps with a shield and heavy armor, I mean really when you went down that line did you laugh meniaclly to yourself? I did on my Vanguard
  6. I love doing roughly the same overall dmg on my Sniper as I do on my Vanguard, makes it an easy choice to continue playing a Vanguard since they also have utility and survivability as well. Games a joke, BW was so scared of 1 dps class being superior to others that they made every dps build have the same dps potential but they forgot about all the mitigation, avoidance and utility some classes have over others. In short, roll or reroll as a tank you will be OP'd stomping people and you can act like you are good at games when in fact you are just OP'd
  7. I still play my mm sniper, but I also rolled a Vanguard which is pretty much same overall dmg but a ******** more utility/survivability. I'm not going to say snipers suck or they need a boost, all I'm saying is that I can do the same dmg my dps sniper does as a tank...
  8. I agree with the OP, remove cover altogether and let the sniper move while casting his abilities outside of cover, this way we can fix the sniper and your inability to press 2 buttons.
  9. Item progression works well with pve since the mobs are pit against what players are capable of in said gear, players can choose from the lowest/easiest raid/group to gain gear to do the higher tier mobs. Its kind of lazy, but it works, you get a certain level of gear to defeat such and such encounter. PvP item progression does NOT work because players without any gear have to play against those with gear and they also have to beat those players to aquire the gear. Its a horrible system that puts players who play constantly above those who are new or have less time to play. Notice I said less time to play and not better or worse at pvping because NO ONE knows who is better because of the gear disparity. Good pvpers who play alot, good pvpers who play less, new pvpers, and bad players do NOT want gear progression in pvp because instead of tactics, playing ability, battle awareness "paying attention to your surroundings" and class knowledge "both your class, your teammates class and the ones against you" should be the deciding factor in pvp combat. Gear progression in pvp puts less and less emphasis on playing ability and more and more emphasis on how often and how many bags you opened and put onto your toon. Its as unrewarding an experience as you could have in pvp. Let your playing ability be the deciding factor in winning or losing, let those you dominate know they were outplayed by a superior player/team as opposed to being out geared. No good player could ever want gear progression in pvp, its counter to what they want which is to beat players with their ability to play, not their ability to put gear on.

  11. Because there are no good games with open world pvp so we might as well get the best instanced pvp possible which happens to bne skill-based as opposed to gear based. Maybe there will be an mmo with good open world in the near future, but until then pvpers are kind of limited right now.
  12. I dont need a carrot to enjoy pvp, I'd love some good open world pvp game but sadly their isnt one right now so we have to settle for instanced pvp and if I have to settle for instanced pvp then making it skill based is the best possible scenario for any good, bad or new pvper. The ONLY people who want superior gear for time spent online in a video game are people who can barely handle peck at 1 through 4 without any clue as to what they do outside of the listed dmg amounts, they also have little understanding of whats happening around them in pvp and they also have little to no clue about what other classes are capable of. Asking for gear advantages to me is pretty much telling us that you cant pvp even though you have near infinite time to do so and the only way you can win in pvp is by out gearing your opponents. If you need gear as a crutch for your inability to pvp then you were not going to stay anyways.
  13. Um no, good pvpers want everyone wearing the same gear so when they beat people its because of their playing ability and not because of an item they got in a bag and put on their toon.
  14. Add it now, heck Ill pay $25 or $50 per xfer right now. Make some $ BW~
  15. The thing is, those players were going to quit soon anyways. Playing a game for the rewards without enjoying the game itself will not hold your interest regardless of any sort of gear crutch
  16. Exactly man I know what you mean. I pvp because it can be a challenging experience that allows me to learn my toon better, winning through gear crutches on the other hand is not rewarding or fun.
  17. Skilled pvpers dont want gear to be the deciding factor of why they beat someone, they want to beat them by being better, not by being better geared. There are a few gear based pvp systems in other mmos, WoW is one of them. Try that game out then once you realize how unrewarding it is having to outgear your opponents you can come back to swtor and have fun knowing that winning through skill is a much more rewarding experience.
  18. If you need a gear crutch then I suggest looking at maybe WoW or something else to spend your countless hours of free time on, this game is going to be competitive through skill and not through items you opened in a bag by playing more often. Good luck wherever you go, once you get bored from gear based pvp and realize how unrewarding it is then come back to swtor where playing ability comes before gear
  19. PvE players are the ones clamoring for superior gear over others, pvpers want their opponents to know they were outplayed, not out geared.
  20. What part of pressing tab + 1 multiple times makes you think it should stop various players who just killed you from capping an objective? You were out played and out maneuvered. If BW wanted to they could have just made dots stop ticking one the player who casted them died, I think we made out alright tbh.
  21. False, good pvpers dont want gear to be the reason why they just beat someone, they want their opponent to know that they were beaten by a superior player and not by a guy who plays more and has a gear advantage. Gear grinding in pvp doesnt work, fighting an uphill battle against people who log in more often is the laziest form of gameplay ever added to mmos, it works well for pve though
  22. If gear is your only enjoyment from pvp then you were bound to quit sooner rather than later n/m how long it takes to get the gear. Every single good pvper, bad pvper and noob pvper likes that gear will play as little part as possible in seperating players, only people who spend their lives playng video games who still cannot play them at any level worth mentioning want gear to be a crutch. My suggestion to the OP and others is to learn how to play your toon, pressing 1 through 4 will get you to 50 but you need a little more if you want to win at pvp.
  23. BM bags were not just set to sell for 1000/1000 they were set at that price because that is the max you can get. If BW makes a new cap at say 1500/1500 they will just set BM bags at 1500/1500. Next!
