  1. I like how one of the better posts in this thread is almost totally ignored so folks can argue about, like he said, assumptions and opinions. I so rarely post, and that would be why. Its like folks type so they can hear the click of their keyboards....
  2. Usually i'm the Good guy, Paladin, helper or saviour in games i play. Story line wise in this game i felt most in line with the Consular story line as i tend to be a thinker and peacemaker while still enjoying the "stabby stabby" games give me Being a Good and helpful Jedi who did what he could to end conflict with dialogue THEN lightsabers gave me a positive feeling of a job well done. If i'm running a FP with a bunch of folks who wan't to try DS answers, i pass on answering, because though i'm willing to help players get through Fps, i have no interest in joining in on such things as my character would never! However i was on a voice chat with a buddy as we tried the Dark side, i was playing a bountyhunter. an almost evil laugh just bubbled up, was nearly demonic, and my buddy called me on it. Guess once in a while even people who heavily tend to good things like me, can still enjoy a little evil here and there. Thats the only quest that really got me like that, but i haven't gone far. Who knows, maybe its the same reason i wouldn't hack someone with a sword in real life, however in a game i'd get in line like its a krispy kreme. That help?
  3. I read the whooole thing. Good read, and i agree with the points. He should do one about Forums and Forum posting. I'm sure that would be a good read too. If he doesn't get trolled for it harshly.
  4. What i'd like to see is some situational button changing. For instance a JK has Reposte. Which can only be used Every six seconds for 3 action points after Parry Dodge or shield. Couldn't this be molded into a current attack and change from say your basic attack to Reposte when you dodge parry or shield, remove the cost and bump up the time between uses. Or choose another skill that might cost even more Focus but is on demand, and when you parry shield or dodge, it changes to Reposte. If the On demand skill creates a proc, Have Repo do the same proc, or a random proc, or a guarenteed Crit, whatever. But theres 2 slots made into one because of course it would make sens to use a cheaper similar attack when it procs. For the Jedi Shadow. Tulmit and Spinning strike really need the same treatment. Ones for stunned, ones for under 30% health. So if its stunned, and above 30%, Have the attack Do the kick. If its Under 30% health Spinning lightsaber. Now the fun part you can do. If its both. Since you've combined the Attack to do either, you could now Do the kick, and then hackem with the Lightsaber in a fun and interesting spinning, kicking lightsabre spinning attack, Instead of Spin kick, stop, spin saber, stop attack. All i'm thinking is by combining a few very similar skills you could make them a little more dynamic and cut down a bit on keybind sprawl.
  5. While i like the idea. Anything posted like that by a Dev or spokesperson would likely be taken as a promise not only of inclusion, but the order of inclusion. thus taking many many posts to never really clear up. I do like the idea. But watching past MMos and games i have seen things such as this. and i think some of the closed mouth appraoch Game Devs take is because of that. Now active responces and such are welcome and needed by a dev community. But the likelyhood of something like a list being taken wrongly is strong in the force. So my Alternative thought is instead of a Q&A where they can easily cherry pick easy or already answered questions would to be either have a Vote up the top 10 player suggestions/ideas/issues and have the Devs reply to those not so much in as yes/no format but more a Thoughts, ideas and what issues they belive could come from such ideas. Not everyones happy when a Dev says no to their idea, but its much easier when they could explain why they may not, could not, or probably shouldn't do something. with some thoughtful answers behind their reasoning besides "we have no plans to X" If they we're willing to do something like this i'd be happy to give them plenty of time to talk it over amongst themselves so they can give well though and explored answeres, intead of a real time "oh crud what do we say without promising um..."we have no current plans to blech blah blah"
  6. Yoda's race is likely a no, as they are supposed to be very rare, and thats fine by me. Wookies, would really want to do 50 levels worth of cutseens with wookinese every time you speak? I mean, sounds cool being a wookie, but after about 15 levels the novelty of their speech would be gone, and a wookie speaking english (basic) is hardly a wookie, so i'll pass. I'll pass on any alien race that either can't speak basic, or would likely ruin the feel of the race by speaking it. How fun would a Hutt be if it didnt speak like a Hutt? Not very to me.
  7. I'm no car addict, but i do know you can by after market turbo or supercharger for nearly any make of auto which will give the engine higher performance by forcing more air for the combustion to burn and...i can't continue Are you serious? Really? Clearly Modable armor must be a total affront to you since the amount of stiching required to remove portions of one piece and place on another and not look like a patchwork quilt must be terribly unacceptable without a clear explanation of of exact knitting and sewing procedures and blueprints of how exactly such improvements can be garnered to what was before operation: Seamstriss was commenced, an inferior item. I may have been baited. But this one time, i enjoyed it
  8. Agreed, though some builds with heavy crit dependant talents can suffer more then others, but thats the nature of the beast, your get lucky some times and crit like a mad man and it will be awesome, and other times it will seem like for ever since somthing proc'ed However even post crit/surge rebalance/nerf/wet noodleing, it still seems fine to me
  9. Or could make republic light armor that doesnt look like a mid 1800's school marm trying to be fasionable. Low blow? sorry I don't think bonuses for low pop is gonna help enough or even be a good thing to do. Besides the likely issues the way storylines/faction change/i dunno might cause problems. I expect whats more likely to happen is people roll, grab any temp bonus they can wring out, and transfer/change back to whereever they wanted to be in the first place. As far as story, its just easier to be a good badguy then a bad goodguy. Especially when alot of the choices for republic side are : 1- Save everyone! 2- Wheres my money? 3- Attack! I mean really? As much as i like being republic, those choices are not engaging to me. now... 1- Save the village but the sith with info on a enemy weapon escapes. 2- Capture the sith and steal the info, thus stopping him from any other evil-doing 3- Allow him to continue on, following him to find all the other bad guys meanwhile the villageers die and other evil acts are commited Thats sounds like a much more interesting set of questions. Granted theres a few branches i looked at for a moment or two, but it seemed like i was more choosing what my bonus mission would be then what my moral choice really was. And in the end, whatever choice i made was glossed over for the next class quest, cause even if i just killed folks outright, i was still sent to more people by my jedi council/general/whomever to have more and more opportunities to...kill? Not too compelling, not too fun, and the aestetics, not too cool. Its fun to be bad some times, so in order to fill out a goodie goodie side, it needs to be a really fricking cool looking good side with compelling moral choices that aren't save, cash in or kill, with actual storyline consequences to those choices. My 2 credits.
  10. The general theme of MMOs is a love hate with RNG. RNG time sinks = Devs lovem, players hate'm RNG Crits = Some players love'm, Devs lose hair by the handful. Its probably one of the most simple says of making a stat/damage random, however it seems to always get dialed back as players find either a good way to stack it or use it effectivly. As a Jedi Shadow (balance) crit and critting Dots are my bread and butter. However there are plenty of other issues i see beside the crit nerf that you have seen and likely will see in most any MMO.
  11. It seems to be the same trap Mages get into in alot of other games. Get a really neat staff that is just a stat stick. Few to animations using it, cause you just use your hands. Often stays on your back the whole fight (to Bio's Credit, at least you hold it more often here) I agree its a shame that "magic" or "force" heavy classes get stuck with this type of setup. Would be nice if when you throw out force you could atleast use your lightabre to do some of them. As an aside, anyone else kinda chuckle when Troopers shoot healing beams from a Gattling gun? Could of atleast made a "assault cannon" line with say, alacraty that somewhat looked more like a healing device... i dunno.
  12. Had to respond to this one. Atleast as far as Eve-Online goes, as someone who played Eve online from '04 till '09 It is really foolish to even mention this game to try and make some point about a LFG never mind cross server. Eve-online was a Single cluster, everyone was on the SAME SERVER so to speak. Not to mention there was no LFG to run a dungeon, because you could hardly call anything eve-online had a dungeon. Save some permenent Farm areas, but those were controlled by Alliances, if you wanted them, you hand to take it. Missions we're practiclly made to be solo'ed because that was your income, becuase when ships popped, they were gone. Care to have 75% of what your wearing blow up if you die in an FP, Op, PVP, Falling off a cliff? I didnt think so, though you'd have a real reason to fun FPs more, so maybe a LFG would be Smexy then. Eve-online was for its moment the space sandbox. Some loved it, some hated it, but Eve has no place in an LFG discussion. o/ All in all, Adding EVE-Online to that list is un-informed
  13. Why just focus on Stats for customization, as helpful as it is to be able to max out here and there on you gear, i'm sure more interesting things could be added to gear. As a prior poster mentioned having an "advanced" craft tree where you specialize, why not add effects to your stuff, shiney effects, dripping shadows, Light sabre crystals that in some way change between 2 colors (randomly, on a crit etc) And not to mention adding Crafter obtainable Set bonuses. They need not be +this to your best skill/stun. But even something like Dots tick off 5% faster etc, +10% to Speeder top speed. Telekinetic Throw throws X instead of stones. and have some options for X Customization shouldn't have to be only Numbers, Numbers are just the easiest thing to change, but if Bioware was willing to put in some art manpower you could really get some interesting things going.
  14. I've gotten a small amount, maybe 20/25 total across Synth, mostly in Light, as i play a Consular. Since i seem to have a repat curse once i get one top line Purple from say a Crit blue, i stop, cause i seem to like to get the very same purple every time But thats just bad luck and the fangs of RNG. As far as my lvl 50 patterns, i've been trying to RE to purples but it just isn't happening, so i've taken a break from wasting my credits for now. But I've found my Sales sweetspot to be around lvl 27-33. Perhaps cause i'm Republic and save for mid level Alts the potential buyers are low, not sure. And nothing but purples sell, and only certain ones. Blues and especially greens are so inferior even to mid quality modded oranges that theres not much market for things from synth besides Belts and Bracers. And half of them are repeats as you go up (especially light synth armor) and not too attractive, so i can't blame anyone for using Orange gear, i use the same myself , sadly
