  1. @OP, agree. I think this problems is more broad to traveling itself. Getting to the Imperial Fleet already takes a good 5min to get there. I can't instant travel there. That aside. Elevators are slowing down the pace of the game. For they are:

    1. Slow

    2. There are versions with a loading screen

It's just plain annoying to get on an the elevator. If someone dies on it, you cannot resurrect him unless you are standing on the elevator itself and started casting before the elevator took off. The amount of loading screens in this game is crazy and the elevators doesnt make it any better.

    Regarding spaceports and shuttles

The distance we have to run to get on our ship, our home, feels more like a burden than something I'm looking forward to. Really, I skip every movie my ship is taking off and landing because I already wasted alot of time just getting on it. I mean seriously:

    1. Run or take speeder to spaceport (can take around 5min)

    2. Run to elevator (1-2min and loading screen)

    3. Run to ship (1-2min and loading screen)

    4. Run to ship cockpit, boom I'm in space while I spawn at my door and I didnt even want to go to space just want to check my homies on my ship???

    5. And then there is the orbital station. Who sent me here??? Where am I??? I didnt want to go here. I want to go to my ship!!!!

    6. Logic behind shuttle: Your ship is at planet spaceport. You take shuttle on planet. You fly to space orbital station. You find out you dont want to be here. You take airlock to ship on orbital station. You are on ship. So your ship was on planet, but the airlock on orbital station gives acces to ship on planet. Why does the shuttle not bring you directly to ship on planet?

All this hassle to just get on your ship. While this might not look like a problem at first hand, it will be soon enough. When you are missioning and you need to get on your ship, you have to make a real big choice if you want to go back to your ship or not. Because:

    1. Only spaceports or shuttles can take you to your ship (so travel time and all the loading screens come in).

    2. If you want to go back, you will have to go through all the pain and brainless walking AGAIN.

    3. Why can I not visit my ship directly in the spaceport? Why the loading screen? Why does it take off to space even tho I dont want to?

You may say I'm a whiny lil weasel-f, but seriously I'm not enjoying going to my spaceship. The amount of stuff we can do on our ship does not justify the effort we have to take and the loading screens we wait for just to get on the ship and get out the spaceport again. In other words, the spaceship does not make my gameplay better like Mass Effect did. My ship in TOR is only a neccesary burden for me I have to swallow just to complete missions.

  2. @OP I agree with you.

  3. The thing with Bioware and EA is their preference of 'looks above functionality'.

There are two choices bioware made to make the game interesting which I really dislike:

    1. No clipping

    2. No auto-attack

    1. This game Has no clipping. I can press all I want, but if the animation does not finish my character will do nothing. This causes any melee class to have moments where do will sit and wait and do nothing during combat. For melee classes an animation has 3 stages:

    I. Starting position

    II. Swing or the attack

III. Returning back to passive position

For instance I play an assassin(=shadow) when I use my basic attack 'Trash' or 'Voltaic slash' my character will start to take his stance, swing his saber AND return to the passive animation. Only after the passive animation has finished I can cast a new spell or ability.

Now I'm bringing up WoW simply because WoW gives you the feeling YOU have COMPLETE control of your character. Why does WoW succeed? Simply, the priority Blizzard put is:

    A. Data registration on the server (or w/e its called)

    B. Animations come second hand and are merely a fancy way of showing you're doing an ability

The difference with WoW is also, there is NO step I or III. There is only step II. This allows the lag between player vs. server to feel fluid. Because even tho you are casting on your screen, its already registered on Blizzard's server, meaning you can cast another spell while the previous spell animation is still going on the player screen. Also known as stacking.

    2. In addition having no auto-attack adds more delay to combat than increasing pase and player input during combat. One might think the player input increased, but that is not the case. This extra key to press for an auto-attack to happen adds another delay in animation resulting in your character waiting for the animation to finish. In the end you will notice, as a melee class at least, periods in combat where your character will stand idle.

TL;DR: character animations getting ready to cast ability and character going back into passive/normal pose GET OUT, (immediate) attack animation STAY, Allow stacking for fluid gameplay.

  4. STRONGLY DISAGREE with pvp gear too easy to obtain.

Do you know how many hours it can take to obtain pvp gear? Its a random system that can take over 20+ bags to get 1 item. It's frustrating and making it harder to get only makes thing worse. People should spend more time playing PvP than getting their gear right. It already takes ages to get a full set of pvp gear. The players that have the pvp gear now have either alot of luck or have spend the last 1-2 weeks non-stop gaming. A normal player will take at least 1-2months just to get their pvp gear. So dont make it harder! Spend less time collecting gear, spend more time PvPing in pvpgear..

  5. I'm really wondering why there is no option to lower my view distance. The game looks really nice and all and especially the horizon looks real good. But my laptop can barely keep a constant 30-40fps.

For me everything on lowest, shadows off and I use Open GL tripple buffering gets a playable performance. However, whenever I go outside and jump on my mount or take a speeder the fps drops. This happens alot in areas where theres a big open environment or dense woods.

I'm thinking this has to do with the view distance, because its rendering like 1km environment around me. I rather have the environment of like 100m around me rendered and play smoother than to see far away.

The option to lower the view distance also fits for people who don't really care about graphics but just want a smooth gameplay without spending 200euros on upgrading or buying a new laptop.

TL;DR: Bioware WHY U NO PUT VIEWDISTANCE OPTION! no seriously, got lag when on speeder and mount and in big or dense areas. Rather have lower view distance for smoother gameplay than big viewstance and lower fps.

FYI: Settings: all lowest, shadows off, using Open GL tripple buffering, gpu settings everything lowest/off/performance.

  6. Shes annoying anyway, never use her.

You're so hearthless on her :( She is a nice jedi with a colorful character.

For those wondering why you do not gain affection with courting material, you need at least 2500/1000 with her before it gives points. If these numbers are wrong: you get affection at the point you have the loving options in the conversations.

  7. I would love to have the option to change my looks. Some character really look messed up with sith corruption. For isntance, humans(turning ligh yellow with greenish shade) and the zabraks turning into pink bunnies. If these people knew their character we gonna look like that at dark side IV than they would have not chosen these cosmetic skin options.

I can also imagine people wanting to change their gender or the way their face looks. If these people would have to reroll completely new characters just for the looks it would be really sad. Even if they have spend alot of time creating their characters. Being able to change your looks adds a little bit of freedom to customise your character when you are high level and get to face an unpredictable cosmetic change by armor, dark/light side choices or other game mechanics you cannot forsee beforehand.

  8. @OP, i agree. I rerolled from sorcerer to assassin and I'm having a much harder time on the assassin. With the sorcer I walk into packs, 1-2 AoEs and all of them are at 50%. The assassin however needs a more setup approach, but the companions we get DO NOT, like OP said, complement with how the assassin is played aka stealth, maul, melee with no heals.

For elites or bosses this means that the assassin has to put out an insane amount of dps to burn down the adds and then switch to the boss. Even if we are succesful in doing that, we are dependant on Khem's tanking ability for a lot of levels. Every boss fight is basically a dps race, because we are not able to heal our tank up. Here you can say, we can tank with dark charge, but before you get to Hoth our droid is not a proper healer. He engages in combat with melee, good lord how is this annoying. Secondly, we cannot tank properly till we have some sort of AoE threat generator which comes at 25+.

Do you see the problem now BW? The gameplay of the assassin does not fit how companions are received. Our inability to keep our companions up leaves us no choice to dps race or wait till we can tank WITH a proper healer(Hoth).

  9. Just curious, where/who stated this? I know it's supposed to be assumed, but is it official? Also from what I've seen Bastilia doesn't even wear pants lol.

Hmm, I've not made that mis-refrence at all. Our Class is in fact, Inquisitor. Our advanced Class is Assassin.

Sort of official, have a look at the holonet. The jedi shadow and sith assassin both have distinct robes compared to their sage/sorcerer counterclass.

Besides that, assassin type sith looked mostly like how anakin skywalker looked like in the movies(http://www.widedesktopwallpapers.net/movies/images/anakin_skywalker.jpg_). They wear a standard sith outfit and arobe to conceal their posture. Even in the comics assassins have this kind of outfit: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100323164648/starwars/images/c/c7/Sith_Assassin.jpg. Additionally in KotoR there was or were sith assassin who wore nothing like how a sorcerer looks like.

  10. Arena is already there. In world of pokepandas.

Go there and stay there is you love it so much.

When you move from village to big city you don't throw cow poops around so you can feel at home.

And majority do not want arena poop here, because they know more pvp forms then arena. Just go play MOBAs for unlimited arena experience.

oh boy do i love the sound of some good poop throwing.

  11. Why?

If your guild doesn't have 8 people in it, is it really a guild?

Keep in mind this wouldn't prevent people from queuing up individually.

Also, there is nothing casual about PVP. If you FORCE PVP'ers (and PVP is my endgame activity of choice) to deal with random "casual" people in our warzones, you might make the random casual happy (as long as they are happy getting melted in match after match) but you tick off the dedicated PVP'er.

I thought the whole point of playing on a PVP server was to be able to PVP vs other PVP'ers, not be forced into clown car matches!

Organised group vs. Pug is won by organised group even before the game started. That is why there is no big qeueuing for pug pvp. If you have played WoW you know what I'm talking about. People do not like and will afk when they see the system is putting them on a disadvantage.

    Just wait for rated warzones.

  12. Bioware has to REMOVE ability delay.

If they don't, people will complain about this game like warhammer and leave. Ability lag is gamebreaking! Like we don't stick to race games where the drive feeling is out of place or like the still not fixed mw3 bug where not all hits are immediately registered between players.

  13. So I'm getting a lil bored of my Khem Val companion running around in his underwear. What I want to do is dress him with a new outfit. But where do I find them?

Also while we're at it, maybe, we can share the vendors where the companion outfits sold or are to found.

Thanks for reading :D Ill update this post if you add something.

  14. I'm training my diplomacy real bad, because I want to hit 10k DS real quick. I was 2k in LS before but decided I wanted to be all dark and stuff.

I was wondering how much points LS/DS you get at your diplomacy level. I'm around 250 atm and I usually earn 10-50 DS. I never do the maximum level missions I can do because I'm afraid of failing them, instead I do 1 lower level missions which succeed quite steadily.

I hope someone can clarify this for me.

  15. @OP, i agree.

I see some people complaining it would be easy to obtain certain looks, but how about we do it like WoW: Hand in the item you want it to look like. That way, rare item looks are still to be worked for, but players can choose not to look like it because they dont like the looks.
