  1. Despite my initial list of mistakes he is making, I do agree that he has the right to play however he likes although I am inclined to agree that someone should send him a tell and see if he wants some tutoring. He seems to respect you ascendency and full resolve guys a lot, so I am sure he would gladly accept it. And he does seem like a nice fellow (I did not hear him raging when he lost and he seemed optimistic in the face of certain defeat in another WZ) -Lin
  2. Hey Darth, You are exactly right on the stick mapping (though it does require one other trick), although there is some reliance still on the mouse, namely for clicking things (which is much faster). But as far as buttons go, I have 36 buttons mapped as well as 5 separate tab targeting commands plus a focus target modifier button and an automatic 180 turn button. The trick is using triggers as modifiers that allow the face buttons to do multiple things. If anybody would like to give this a go, hit me up and I'll get you started. Also, if anyone wants to question my efficacy with this, just ask people who I pvp with. -Lin
  3. Technically, that is a macro. But I feel it may hinder you more than help, since your abilities don't just "go off" all at once, they all exist on the global cool down. I think most people will be able to press the next button before the GCD finishes (I know I am spamming my buttons in anticipation of the GCD coming off. It also seems that you have less control of your abilities if you just assign them all to one button. Often, timing of your abilities is key. For example, I would not want a complete rotation to go off if my enemy just popped resilience or perhaps dodge. -Lin
  4. Hey all, I was just wondering if anybody else besides me plays with a xbox or ps3 controller. I have been using one for a while now and find it pretty damn fun and helps movement a lot for people with a background in console games. Please don't post rage. I just wanted to test the water here. All the best Lin
  5. Ok, lets try: 1. Clicking on abilities 2. Not moving around 3. Being a caster yet standing in the middle of the war 4. spamming aoe unnecessarily 5. not focusing fire 6. not throwing off heals 7. zoomed in way too far- cannot see the whole battle taking place 8. Hardly stuns or if so, ineffectually 9. Did not use thundering blast enough, or dot multiple targets 10. Did not use the instant cast chain lightning on every proc, despite the fact that the enemies were mostly clumped up. Were they what you were thinking Agapex? Also side note, do you guys always run 3 healers? I imagine you may have lost this one had you not three heals (and possibly another one of these guys in his stead) Oh and 250k for a caster who did not die is pathetic. Would have expected around 400k. Will keep my eye out for this guy next time- looks like a free kill to me (you can tell smilies, to let him drop) All the best -Lindooni, Lindothar
  6. Also throwing my hat in the ring for teaching as well. Lindooni- Shadow: can teach you any build you like and what build is needed on a given team Lindothar- Guardian: Have a few good tanking builds I can teach you. However, I am terrible with focus spec so please do not ask me how to play that well. Happy to jump on mumble too if that is easier. All the best -Lin
  7. So... tempted... to... add...my... own... toons... argh. Frak it: Lindooni, Lindothar. Please don't hate me
  8. We did a few "in-house" RWZ's for the first time this weekend with a couple of pugs to make up numbers and had a blast. Do any of you other rated teams (which are a fair fight) ever manage to get through a door in voidstar- I don't think we were able to. Like spidey said, we have got for more numbers now (especially since we absorbed DAWN's pvp squad) so expect to see us q'ing. -Lin
  9. Curious as to why Ghost Infantry players aren't mentioned here. Just to shout out some names you may see attacking your face: Argente, Layloo, Biginc, Accabwehc, Billyicekid, Spidey, Wadia, Quad, Corrado just to name a few. See you all out on the battlefield! -Lindooni -Lindothar -Lindac
  10. Great idea. Will do my best to be there. Can I run 2 toons through it?
  11. How on earth did you get your stats like that? Hey Shin, Loved the vid. I was hoping you would enlighten us as to how you got your stats so high! Were they taken when you were buffed or unbuffed with scoundrel and/or the tropper buff? (or maybe even the nightmare pilgrim buff). I ask because with all buffs on plus the exotech stim I have: 1715 endurance, 1749 willpower, 113 strength 1209 expertise I have sacrificed a couple of the armourings for PVE armourings due to the big willpower and endurance on them (but may swap them back now everyone is in full WH). Accompanying the previous stats I have got: Melee Damage 1038-1240 Damage bonus 634 accuracy 99.39 Crit chance 31.51 Crit multiplier 75.18 Force Bonus dmg 935 Bonus healing 419 accuracy 109.39 crit chance 30.60 crit multiplier 75.18 Defense Health 19843 amour rating 2634 dmg reduction 19.61 As you can see I am way below your dmg, even though I have made sacrifices of my expertise and HP. Your wise words would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards Lindooni P.S I think it goes without saying (since I am best in slotting) that I am with EWH saber and offhand
  12. I am well aware of the boon that is unremitting, I used this build for a good chunk of time: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500RrhdzZfhr0rhdzMZ0M.2 It was nice and tanky but eventually I found its damage very much wanting. I do find getting knocked back a bit of a pain with the present build, but for the most part my sweeps will end up getting the target since I can drop a free force slow on a target that I think is likely to knock me back, allowing for an easy walk and sweep.
  13. Hey guys, I've been running this since 1.4 (I know, I know utilises OP force sweep but nvm). I was running the standard defence-vig build for my tank for a long time but came to realize the damage output was too low to even begin to scare a healer (at least in what was a few pieces of WH and BM). http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500RrhkzZZGr0rdfMMc.2 So basically, you run it in Soresu form (note that I've left out all of the shi-choo form talents from focus tree) and your job is to basically jump into thick mobs of players for sweeps and jump to people with low health for executes. The rest of the time you are peeling people off your guarded target. IMO guradians are the best people for guarding healers in the whole game owing to their extra dmg reduction talent "guardian leap" This build has excellent front end burst and is best utilised with another burst dpser to wipe out a target quickly. The reason for this is that your damage between sweeps is pretty damn poor. It also gets a buff to dispatch meaning that if 2 of u can get someone to <30% it is a quick execute. Presently, I am getting 5000k crits and I have only 2 pieces of WH and rest BM with recruit wrist and bracers. You also gain a fair bit of tankiness from the bonus to defence talents you pick up as well as warding call. Remember to pop this not only when you are getting hit but also your healer is getting hit as it will reduce dmg you take wither way. Oh and chaining slows is an ultimate win move in many WZ's (ie voidstar) and will help you collect more people on your sweeps. Anyway, would like to hear your thoughts.
  14. This looks very tidy for PVP. plenty of burst. U are going to miss that instant force lift though. If I were u id maybe be more inclined to dropping a couple of points off misdirection and putting them into security breach. Will definitely give this a go though
  15. Hey guys, Not sure if this has been mentioned yet. I would like to see some sort of economy/resource tracker something akin to that of Eve online. I believe this would greatly help the economy of the game, since people will have a visual representation what is needed at any given time. Not sure whether this should just be what is being sold on the GTN or whether it pools the total amount of "unused materials" that exist in people's banks over the entire server. This would also be cool for gear-however it would need to be far less specific. Ie, you could see some graphs displaying what lvl 40 prototype boots have been selling at in the previous few weeks. Anyone got any more suggestions like this. Apologies if this has been brought up, if so disregard (or re-regard if you wish).
  16. Peeps!!! I have discovered another solution to the two trigger hold- map reset problem (Quite a lengthy title I know). Simply map a "hold to return to map 1" to all your toggle and hold keys. This will ensure that even if you stuff up and release your triggers in the wrong order, it will always return to your default map 1. This obviously only works if you have not mapped hold buttons to exist as other buttons within other maps. Hope you find this useful.
  17. Thanks Peeps, Though I am finding it less and less of an issue. Just need to be calm when issuing commands and not try to mash the keypad. The only regret I have with the "unmapping" from map 1 when 2 triggers are pressed (I assume this is what is happening, I haven't properly tested what breaks it), is that you can't use L and R together to open a new map, nor indeed any other button combination.
  18. works fine for me- no lag in pvp either. My only problem with it is that it requires very defined cover points- I have looked at many rocks and thing and thought "that should be cover" but sadly the game does not recognise it so. shmeh. as a healer, I don't use it much ne way.
  19. Thanks for the reply peeps. I haven't really solved the problem, I chose to just leave the right joystick as a combination with rmb. but i did add that r3 toggle to a new map that controls the cursor like a mouse. Also, I have a solution to that problem you get when you accidentally pull 2 triggers at once. Simply set your back button (select for ps3) to return to map 1 for all of your other maps. I have found this really helps if you are in the middle of a fight and can't remember what the trigger combo to get back to map 1 is. Also, just another note for the efficacy of this pad. I have been doing pvp today (jumped in for the first time) and got the highest heals dealt out of anyone. And that was on a lowly lvl 15 smuggler. For anyone unconvinced: The speed and versatility you can get out of a well mapped gamepad is unmatched. You can cast, target and run all at the same time! Soo good!
  20. Also, peeps, I 've been trying to play with the R3 toggle for mouse movement to character movement on Xpadder. I can get the toggle working, but when I hold in of my MAP buttons, it un toggles so that the mouse is in control again. Ideally, I would like it so that when I press R3, it clicks and holds the mouse for all my movement. When I press it again, it untoggles the right click and goes to a map that can control left and right clicks. Please help
  21. Has anyone worked out that using xpaddder could actually allow something akin to macros? Since you can set buttons to activate more than one ability, I imagine you could load up a few commands for one button press. You just need to go to the advanced tab when setting up your keys and then set a combination for one button. However, you would have to add pause in between the commands that was as long as the global cooldown. Just a thought, I haven''t actually tried this yet
