  1. Yeah, it was very common before the patch with 50's against level 12s, but now? I'm pretty sure in the 100+ wz's I've played since they created they split the sub-50 and 50s into two brackets, I have not seen a single player top 300k damage. My personal best is ~250k in Huttball. Am I alone in this observation? I've seen 280 once or twice, but no 300+. Is that now only achievable in the 50s bracket? Cheers, Jacks 43 GS SS
  2. Maybe I'm just stuck in my Sharpshooter groove and could up my damage with another spec, but at level 43 (and for the last 15 levels, gained mostly through WZ) I have rocked this class and spec. I am top damage on my team 90% of the time and top two overall just as often. Sharpshooters take a lot of skill to play. When I do get out dps'd, it's never by another smuggler, so the sharpshooter spec is NOT inferior. I use a razor naga mouse and have 27 quickslots bound. In any given WZ, I use them all. Be nimble, be agile, and you can crush with a sharpshooter. I'm low 40s (geared well but not great) and pulled 250k damage in Huttball last night. It was 80k higher than the #2. Don't listen to the gunslinger noobs. They know not how to rock.
  3. ... because, is there any sound more annoying than that *shink!* metal on metal sound of them backstabbing you right after you pop hunker down? They always seem to be hunting me, so I'm dedicating myself to going after them, medal count be damned.

  5. Why did I think this thread wouldn't generate mostly bs answers? So I pulled a 245k in Huttball last night (I'm level 40 Sharpshooter), with good flow and luck in that I was largely ignored. I have all the pvp level 40 blues, so... I'm not sure I'll be able to do much better than that. I was hoping to get the 300k damage medal once, but with the new brackets, I have my doubts. For anyone else kind enough to post an honest number, please list your level and spec when you got that damage. Thanks!
  6. Thanks. I focus on single target with the occasional Pyro grenade and rare sweeping gunfire on doors. You're right though. I'm going to start writing down my dps as a benchmark for improvement.
  7. I've been outperforming other slingers in wz's, but want to continue to improve, and am curious how my spec is stacking up. What's your best voidstar, Huttball or Alderaan damage, and what's your level and spec? I pulled 228k in Voidstar last night, which was 40k better than the next highest (and 221k the WZ after that), so I'm feeling in the groove. But maybe I was playing with noobs. 40 sharpshooter here. Thanks for the benchmarking! I know this isn't the best measure, and will start tracking my dps instead of total damage. -Jacks
  8. Anyone else having this problem? It completely destroys your WZ. Happened to me twice last night, both times on Voidstar.
  9. As a SS, in pvp, I rarely use vital shot either. Same reason: your opponent is likely to die before all the VS damage is realized. It's handy to keep stealthys visible, but just out of my rotation. I assume it gets buffed from other trees?
  10. Does everyone use it? PvP is so chaotic and targets can go down so fast, I feel like using an action on FS is a waste, because I can squeeze off one less damage dealing shot. Has anyone done the math on this? How much extra damage will you do with, say, a trick shot as a result of the armor debuff, and how does that compare to the damage you would have done if you had fired off a quick shot instead of the flourish shot?
  11. I'm not sure if people just really like to exaggerate, or it is only the hardcore that actually visit the forums, but I would say you're fine. The point of this threat is that, if you're not level 50, you can have perfectly good tactics and all max level useable gear, play well, and still feel capped at 6 while playing well. For example, in Huttball, if your opponent never gets the ball near your goal line, no defender points are available, and you will be capped at 6. Civil War is the only place to get 8, but that largely depends on things beyond your control (other players tapping your opponent just before you complete your assassination, the game ending very quickly, or having bad luck in terms of right place right time with respect to imp attacks). As a sub 50, I consider 6 medals a great, successful WZ. 7 is outstanding. 8 is- well, only done it once, so, awesome. My honest average? Maybe 4.5 medals. And I do not suck at pvp, I am top 3 damage overall and top 2 on my team (as level 36 non biochem) probably 75-80% of the time. I win pretty much all of my 1v1 faceoffs. At least I THINK I'm just being honest, and do not, in fact, suck.

  13. And what level were you when you first got the WZ medal? I'm not sure I'm getting close to that mark yet, but am always too maxed out to look at damage during a fight and check.
  14. Hmmm- thanks. At level 36, the 5k hit and 300k damage are, for the moment, out of reach. Your 5k hit is on a buffed aimed shot, right? Maybe target armor debuffed as well? So the heal medal is only going for biochem? Are the packs you're using biochem only? I thought they killed the medal-by-medpack.
  15. Any of you slingers figured out how to get a medic medal (for non-biochems) since patch 1.1? I can't seem to out-medal the tanks, who get 2 or 3 for damage taken every time. I'm feeling capped at 8 in Civil War (though, because they sometimes go fast, I don't think I've managed more than 7), 7 in Huttball (usually 6 is the best I can do - defender points are hard to get), and 6 in voidstar, where defender points are nearly impossible to get. Again, I see tanks pull 8-10 medals all the time. I'm not complaining- I pull top 3 damage most of the time, but... Is there any way for us to break through this de facto medal cap by snagging the bottom tier protection or heals medal? Cheers, Jacks - 36 Gunslinger
