  1. Oh my, I really hope you are trolling and are not really that bad...good marauders don't use leap as their opener and good sorcs keep bubble on at all times (if it's not on cd). Marauders do not follow their leap with ravage, they either go for leap+push+leap combo or follow leap with a slow. Sorc's knockback is countered by either leap or mez. Sorcs only have ONE stun (guess it counts as "loaded with stuns" for some folks), which mara can simply wait out (sorc won't do any damage to speak of during that stun). If sorc tries to use force speed and run away, it's countered by either mez, or choke, or leap. On a side note, I agree that we should nerf operatives just to keep the tradition alive.

    OP Classes...

You make two wrong assumptions: 1. That classes currently fit into rock-paper-scissors scheme, which is not the case. For example mercs and sorcs can't beat any other class and can be beaten by any other class. 2. That the game was designed with rock-paper-scissors scheme in mind, which is also not the case. See here: http://torwars.com/2011/09/01/torwars-interview-swtors-georg-zoeller/
  3. The only way you can get kicked is if you don't click on the "you are being kicked, click cancel" pop-up (assuming you are not in combat). In other words, if kick was successful then you were AFK. On a side note if you don't know that civil war bug in question can be "fixed" by running away from turret, then coming back, you don't play it enough.
  4. Fixed it some more, still not very coherent though:
  5. Here's what BW needs to do IMHO (in order of importance): 1. Either merge servers or allow free transfers. 2. Allow full 8-player teams to queue for WZ. 3. Balance the classes, preferably without "rollercoaster" type of balancing this time. 4. Fix WZ bug that allows stelath cap in VoidStar. 5. Fix WZ bug that respawns people on the wrong side of the doors in VoidStar. 6. Fix WZ bug that causes people not to show up in ops frame 7. Fix WZ bug that causes people to respawn while still being "dead". 8. Fix the design issue with WZ queue that allows for uneven teams at the start of the match. 9. Fix the design issue with WZ queue that disbands original group after WZ.

    Frustrating...

Because it's much more fun to "reroll" in a different game instead? Just a guess...
  7. You see, the problem is not that someone picked the wrong class - it shouldn't be a lottery where you can pick the "wrong" ticket. Problem is that BW made certain classes useless in 1.2, well after people made their choices.
  8. Nice idea in theory, but the game engine currently turns into a slideshow on a 50v50 fight, gathering a lot of level 50s in a single open PvP zone is probably not technically feasible at this point.
  9. Really? How do you avoid grapple? How do you avoid force leap+force push+force leap combo? If you want somebody on the catwalk, you are better off placing a sniper there - can't be leaped to, can't be grappled off, has their own root/slow/knockback. Or put an assassin there - can sit in stealth and pop force shroud if needed. Even a mara would be a better choice - you knock them off and they leap right back to you. If you avoid stuff by running away, you are not in a position to pull and serve no purpose. Once again, what exactly do sorcs bring to the table that can't be done better by a different class?
  10. As opposed to how many times you got dislodged from the catwalk before you could pull? Your abilities as a player remain the same regardless of what class you play. So, why would people want you on a sorc instead of a mara, aside from a possibility that you don't know how to play a mara?
  11. Indeed, let's see... Hutball: pull is exactly as useful as friendly leap and classes that have that leap are much less squishy and have other niceties (like guard) to bring to the table. Bubble is basically a heal, and just like all other heals, an operative is much better suited for a job. Slow/root/cc - a lot of other classes have those, in some cases much better versions. Cleanse - we can only cleanse force effects and which of those do you really want cleansed? DoTs - don't do enough damage to be of any significance, DD skills and DoTs other classes have are much better. All other WZs: We used to fill the role of AoE suppression pre-1.2 and could keep enemy healers busy, but that's gone now. If you just need AoE to stop the cap, any other AOE will do the trick (i.e. sniper's one). DoT another team - for what purpose other than padding your scoreboard numbers? You are not going to kill anybody with that. Peel somebody off the healer - how? You have no burst to speak of, you have the same stun most other classes have, you can't grapple, you can't guard/taunt, and your knockback is very short range. In other words, virtually any other class will either have better means to peel someone off the healer or better burst to simply take that someone down. You say you "slow and root them constantly", snipers can do that and kill their target in the process...marauders can do that and kill their target in the process...why would anybody take a sorc/sage instead of one of those classes?
  12. Hint: Being able to kite doesn't make you very useful unless you can contribute something to your team. Another hint: replacing sorc healer with op healer benefits the team, replacing dps sorc with pyro/mara/sniper also benefits the team. As a matter of fact, replacing any sorc with any other class except for a mercenary would benefit the team.
  13. What's their role in a team? Pyro or Mara will be a better choice for dps, operative will be a better healer. Friendly pull is only useful in huttball and friendly/hostile jump will do the same trick most of the time. Mez? Opertaives have a mez too, besides they have it coupled with stealth, which is much better for cc cap. What do sorcs bring to the table? Or did you mean that they are slightly more useful than mercs now and therefore are not totally in the gutter?
  14. I like how you worded that, although "sorcs/sages are now useless" would be much shorter.
  15. That's not a good idea - it will cause a snowball effect of people leaving the WZ. As soon as one person leaves, the rest will think "if we leave too, this WZ will end much quicker" and bail.
  16. You almost got it, but unfortunately you got it backwards - the solo queue concept is what screws so many things. In a team-based game it makes much more sense to create the team first, then start playing. In a system where PvP queue works exactly like PvE instances, i.e. you form a full group first, then all go into the instance/warzone, everything suddenly becomes much more simple. Solo queue should only be there as a backup in case somebody DC's during the match. Instead, it's made into a normal mode of queueing up and we have the mess that we have.
  17. Let me ask you something - given that you can buy recruit set as soon as you hit 50 (or maybe the next day if you are short on credits and need to do a few dailies), and can get full BM set in less than a week of playing warzones, what "huge advantage" are you talking about? The actual difference between fully augmented WH and full BM is 3-4% max. Most of us like having "something to work for", but what would we work for in your scenario? Majority of players are not all that keen on getting different looks, especially in this game where most of sets are just plain ugly. EDIT: Just saw your last post - Both GW1 and GW2 have the same "gear is only cosmetic" type of PvP. On one hand it seems that's what you are looking for, on the other you were not interested in GW1 for long, so I don't know. Cosmetic items are not a form of motivation at all - nobody will play 20 warzones a day just to get red armor instead of blue armor. People will either PvP just for fun, in which case no rewards are necessary at all, or they will PvP to gear up, in which case you need gear progression...or it could be both, but either way adding/removing cosmetic items won't make any noticeable difference.
  18. TL;DR: You are in the wrong game, pal - you will probably like GW1/2 much more than a "traditional" MMORPG. Progression can not be provided in a form of cosmetic rewards, because those are well, cosmetic (i.e. irrelevant).
  19. Let me try to make it easier to comprehend too. BW can take all the time they want to test things as long as I, as a player, don't have to participate in this testing outside of PTS and as long as I don't have to pay for it. When developers release a patch that pretty much completely breaks PvP after players practically screamed about it being broken for the whole duration of it being on PTS, you get what we have now - players get upset and unsubscribe. If they said something like "sorry guys, new stuff in 1.2 doesn't work as it should, so we will limit this patch to just bug fixes and release new content later", people would be much less upset about it.
  20. The moral of the story has already been stated in this thread a few times - you are not reading what other people post, keep repeating yourself, and are either clueless or a troll. Come to think of it, trolling forums with game being as broken as it is, is not the brightest idea either, so my money is on you being clueless.
  21. Solution (off top of my head, took me about 2 minutes to come up with): 1. When 8-player group queues, check if there are at least 8 more players in the queue, if not - wait 10s, then repeat #1. 2. Check if there's another 8-man group in the queue to match against. If there is, you have a match. 3. If there's no other 8-man group, wait 2 minutes while checking #2 every 10s or so. 4. If after 2 mins no match can be found, check if there's a 7-man group in queue and 1 solo. If there is, match against that. 5. Repeat #4 for 6-man group + 2 solo, 5-man group + 3 solo, etc. No 2 min delays on this check. 6. If still no match, check if we have 8 solo players in the queue, match against that. 7. If still no match, somebody has left the queue since step 1, so go back to #1 and repeat the process. Just a rough idea
  22. It doesn't matter whether you are working around the clock to make something happen or get it done in 5 minutes flat, what matters is the result of your efforts. In this case the result of BW efforts is badly broken PvP that was made much worse than before by 1.2 patch. It wasn't perfect to begin with, but instead of fixing it they broke it completely. Worst part is that they had ample feedback from PTS, knew for a fact that it got broken, but released the patch anyway. Regarding rated WZs, the issue is not the "rated" part - it's just a scoreboard after all. The issue is that WZ queue should have allowed people to queue with full 8-player group from the beginning, but it's still not there after 6 months...and it is a very easy fix to make - can be done in about a week or so (without working one's azz off). This is what really gets people upset - stuff that should have been there at launch, that people have been complaining about since launch, but it is still not fixed half a year later. Instead of the fixes we get more and more things broken with practically every patch and those new problems are not getting fixed either. I mean, seriously, they have a list of problems longer than one's arm and instead of fixing things, they worked on legacy? For real?
  23. I can guess why - first, deathmatch-based WZ (a.k.a arena) requires balanced classes, which we don't have. Second, it will increase queue times that are already way too long, as good players will stay with objective-based WZs and bad players will flock to easier deathmatch arenas, thus creating even more PvP "brackets".
  24. Only first 8 medals count and if you went through the whole round as an attacker without getting them, you are either doing something very wrong or have a huge numerical disadvantage (i.e. you are in a 4v8 match).
  25. If you went through the whole round as attacker without planting a single bomb, in the 2nd round the opposing team wins as soon as they blow up the first door (i.e. they get a point while you are sitting at zero points with no way to get more). So, the match ends as soon as this happens - no reason to continue when you already know the winner.
