  1. Yeah... most of your post has nothing to do with what I said. I didn't say you wouldn't get early access, I said that the way it's worded is misleading and makes it seem like you're getting access as soon as you order it. Also, just because Bioware has posted several times what they were doing about early access doesn't mean someone who is ordering has read it. It could've all been solved with a simple 'Click Here for details about early access!' on the order page, with the link taking you to a post on the swtor forums detailing how early access works. As for everything else, I personally ordered from Amazon in october, i'm just saying what it looks like from an outside perspective.
  2. lol . Yeah, but not specifying something pretty much means anyone that falls into that category. It should instead say 'Early Access has Begun!' then 'Read More' under it. It shouldn't list a fact like anyone who pre-ordered can play now. Sure, you get the real details on it if you click Read More, but the first statement on the main page shouldn't exist at all. It's the first thing you see about early access when you log into swtor.com, and if someone takes it to heart and pre-orders, they were basically scammed. It's a marketing gimmick.
  3. I think he lost his composure for a few minutes, as that's clearly something you shouldn't say to your customers. I don't believe it's bad enough to be fired over.
  4. Not at all, it's just like the statement on the front page of swtor.com, which says 'Fans who have pre-ordered STAR WARS: The Old Republic can now being playing the game!' It's clearly wrong, as i'm a fan who has pre-ordered the game, yet i cannot play at this moment. Sure, the statement will be true in a few days, but it's a lie right now.
  5. Actually, Origin says 'Early Access has started, Pre-order to play.' Looks like they're intentionally trying to mislead people. How early access works is hidden in the text on the bottom of the page after the system requirements, just so they can avoid lawsuits for people who get conned by it. Fact is, it clearly says 'Pre-order now for early game access.' Sounds to me like that means, if i were to pre-order it from origin right now, I could play it right now. It's almost a scam lol
  6. uh... i just say The Old Republic. I only type swtor, so i have no bias on how it's said
  7. And they can kindly post them in the customer service forums, not the general discussion ones.
  8. Same here, expected delivery is the 16th. Sounds good to me
  9. I agree for the most part, I wouldn't want them to change their plans just because people aren't happy with the way things are working after one day. However, companies like Bioware, especially at times like this, need to go out of their way to avoid misunderstandings like the one posted on the main page. I was severely screwed over by it, and I have reported it in every way I could think of. Threads that were closed, pms ignored or automated responses, even waited on hold for two hours to get through to a customer service rep who just hung up on me. Because of that false bit of information, i'm going to miss most of the early access, if not all of it. Ideally, to make up for that they would have changed it and gave me access early. But while that would've been nice, I didn't really expect it to happen and I would've been happy with a simple apology or even them saying something sarcastic like 'We're sorry, now have a cookie.' Instead, not only have they flat out ignored it, they still haven't changed the sentence on the website, and that tells me that it's intentional. Pre-order's from the website are still available, and someone might very well log onto the website, see that one sentence, and be like 'Oh, if I preorder i can play now?' and order it without looking for anymore information. That would obviously lead to more complaining and whining, and it's something Bioware could easily avoid if they cared to even alter a simple sentence.
  10. SWG Failed because they took a good and working game and changed it to crap... imo . Also, I would have been more than happy to wait for my invitation if I knew about staggered release beforehand, however, my only knowledge of early access as of yesterday morning was that it started sometime before the 20th and that swtor.com said I could play now. Many people say it's my fault that I didn't look into it more first, and I can understand that, but it still doesn't excuse Bioware's lie that they still haven't taken down.
  11. lol, personal feelings should rarely be followed when working as customer service. Otherwise 70% of us would be banned and/or cursed out repeatedly.
  12. All that stuff is optional, and I rarely use anything like that. I just think that updates based on the game itself should be here. I wouldn't mind it if he posted it on both, but he seems to post it on twitter first and then it follows here later. I think it should be the other way around lol
  13. I agree, in that I don't like how often twitter is used for updates. I don't have a twitter account, don't want one, and I sure don't expect to have to check twitter for updates when they clearly have their own area, on their own website, meant specifically for posting updates lol
  14. lol, I've always had a small wish about something like this. I work at wal-mart, so if anyone else here has worked there in the past or is currently, you'll know what i'm talking about. Everyday you go in, wearing the normal wal-mart outfit.. navy blue shirt, khaki pants, and of course, the all important ID card you hang around your neck. It's all shiny and bright, impossible to miss. Typical stuff. And at least once a day, a customer walks up 'Excuse me sir, do you work here?' One day, I just want to say 'No' and walk away.
  15. lol, Yeah actually. If a customer walked up to me and asked where something was, and we had a thousand signs everywhere around the store with the same information on it that he requested, and no matter which direction you were looking you couldn't help but see that sign, and I told the customer 'Go away, I need to help this person get a bike off the top rack.' I'd probably get fired Unfortunately, dealing with customer stupidity is part of the job, like it or not.
  16. While I agree that it's a good system with how well it's keeping the servers going, I don't see what they're gonna do on the 20th when all the people who buy at the store log on. It's not like they can say 'Thanks for buying the game! Unfortunately we're not letting anyone else in today, try again tomorrow!' So far it just looks like the overload and lag is just gonna be delayed.
  17. Doesn't change the fact that the statement is clearly false. I already admit that it's partially my fault for not looking for more info, but the statement is pretty self explanatory. It clearly says people who pre-ordered the game can play now. Also, I have made them painfully aware of this since yesterday morning, yet they still refuse to change it. My fault for not looking into it, but Bioware's fault for flat out lying about it.
  18. But what if you go by the sentence on the first page of swtor.com without any knowledge of the staggered release?
  19. lol, When i logged in to Amazon and checked my order, the price was still at the 2 day shipping.. but when I went to change the shipping option, it was already set to release date delivery. Re-selecting the release date shipping changed the price to what it was supposed to be though
  20. I'm guessing friday for you, but maybe if you're lucky and tomorrow goes well they might try and fit all the december pre-orders in. October 10th for me, so I should be in the first or second wave tomorrow.. hopefully. Also, after reading your sig, I wont tell you that you wont have fun.. but you will be missing out
  21. None of this changes the misleading statement on the main page of swtor.com. "Fans who have pre-ordered STAR WARS: The Old Republic can NOW begin playing the game!" If Bioware doesn't want people to complain about not being in, don't post things so easily misunderstood.
  22. I'd have been happy with a lottery system of who gets in first. Not everyone can control when they have the chance to buy the game, october myself, but in the end we all ordered the same thing at the same price. If during each wave people were randomly selected for the invitation, no matter the date, it would atleast be more fair
  23. Yeah, happens to me every 20 mins buddy. Stupid blockbuster.. i never signed up for you...
  24. yeah.. i'm getting in by my oct 10 date. Already confirmed with a csr.. and I only had to spend two hours on hold for it!
