  1. And what about the main page right now? It states 'Fans who have pre-ordered STAR WARS: The Old Republic can now begin playing the game!'. When I read that this morning, I called and traded days off with some friends who I work with with, but it's completely wrong, and the devs don't even bother to change it.
  2. It does not state 'Some' fans, it just says fans. As in everyone. It's not specific. I'm a fan and I preordered, yet i cannot play like it states, so it's false. Also, I ordered from amazon in October, but I never looked into much detail about early access until after what happened this morning. As for getting in today or not, I didn't really care until I read that and made the calls. I wouldn't have minded waiting until thursday, except due to the misleading sentence on the first page i screwed myself over.
  3. Glad i can brighten someone's day atleast . On a side note, I have told devs on here, sent in an email, and talked to a CS rep on the phone, and told each one about it. They each acknowledge that it's false and do nothing about it.
  4. Actually, right this very moment, the main page says 'Fans who have pre-ordered STAR WARS: The Old Republic can now begin playing the game!'. I woke up this morning and saw that. Called a bunch of people I work with, traded days off. Tried to log in, no subscription.. looked into more detail on the forums, i ordered in october so i'll probably get in thursday, when I have to work again. The best part is, I originally had thursday and saturday off, now i work thurs-wed. But the fact is, what the main page states right now is clearly false.
  5. All i have is the false advertising on the main page that caused me to ruin the rest of my week.
  6. yay for spending two hours on hold then getting hung up on when the csr couldn't help
  7. They could easily invite more people. Their top priority right now should be getting their customers in game and making sure everything is running smoothly. Instead, we get 'Thanks for spending your money on a preorder! Try again tomorrow!'. This seems like a very bad choice to me. Beta is over, you can't hold customers off on the excuse that the servers can't handle it. If they can't, upgrade them, because as much as I like Bioware, it's not our problem. You already did your stress tests, now you're just holding off a promised product to customers who already paid for no apparent reason than not wanting to invite anyone else for the day?
  8. I hate to repeat myself, but i'm very disappointed with this. We're not in the testing phase anymore Bioware, we are actual customers now. I have been a huge fan of bioware for as long as I can remember. The games are great, among my favorite, and swtor looks to be no different. So why does this feel like we're still in beta? Testing the server load? That was done already. As a customer who preordered because of the early access guarantee, this looks like it's being handled very poorly. The customers who ordered first get in first, that's great, but there is absolutely no reason to stop sending invites. We spent our money, now it's your turn to uphold the other end of that agreement.
  9. Should be the one you sign in with.
  10. So after reading the update, it seems all invites are done for the day. I still don't see any reason for this, so it's rather disappointing. It's not a good sign that Bioware is ignoring their customers on the very first day lol
  11. Yeah, but it's not like the people invited today are going to disappear tomorrow. The population levels will still be relatively the same before they start sending out waves again, there will of course be some people who can't play due to other responsibilities, but there will be several already invited who can't play today but can tomorrow.
  12. Yeah, but again, it's going to be the same situation at launch. Starting zones are going to be packed, some people are going to move ahead and some are gonna make tons of alts and keep the starting areas full, that's just how mmo's are. Also, they should have accurate numbers on how many preorder codes were redeemed. I can't see how they could have underestimated how many people wanted in when they had the numbers right in front of them.
  13. Yeah, I fully expect a good bit of downtime after the December 20th launch, but I also think that's all the more reason to let everyone in now. It would make both the consumers happy and give Bioware some info on what they might need to do to make the Dec 20th launch more smooth.
  14. The same people put in today will be here tomorrow lol, of course many will be in further zones, but just as many will have made another char and be in the starting zone. Imo they should've just opened it to everyone at once, but if they continue with the staggered approach I wish they would just continue the waves.
  15. If they can't handle the loads now, what's going to happen on December 20th when everyone tries to log on at once?
  16. I'm curious, why limit the number of waves per day? I can understand the staggered launch, although I don't agree with it, but there seems to be no reason at all to just... stop inviting people for the day. Bioware is a huge company, and I can't imagine you don't have a team willing to work the night shift to continue these waves. Your customers want in, I doubt anyone would care if they received their invite at 3 in the morning instead of several days later. This is just my opinion, and of course you don't have to answer... just don't direct me to the early access thread again. It has nothing to do with the question i asked
  17. lol, I disagree completely. Not everyone can afford something the day it releases, some people have other responsibilities. The fact is, we paid for the same product. Seeing as how the product hadn't released when either of us bought it, the date shouldn't matter, as we both got it before it released.
  18. I agree. Early access was part of the pre-order deal, 'Buy now, get this!' as such, I consider it part of the product. I understand first come first serve, but I don't see why they have to stop inviting people for the day. Everyone would be much happier, and it would be much better for Bioware in the long run, if they just continued sending out waves until everyone was in. If Bioware is concerned about server stability, better the problem occur now so they can get started on fixing it. I would rather wait two days on them to repair a server than on a wait I don't understand the purpose of.
  19. Well, the whole reason I preordered it was for early access. I didn't order it until October, and the website I ordered it from didn't mention anything about waves. It just said early access, so I assumed they were just letting everyone who ordered in a few days early. It's somewhat annoying that people who had the extra money laying around when the preorder was first available get an advantage over people who had to hold off until they could afford it, but all I really want to know is why is it like this? I don't understand how this helps them at all, since on the 20th the servers are going to be overloaded anyways.
  20. So why the waves, anyhow? I would assume that it's to help keep the servers from crashing, but tons of people are gonna show up at the same time on launch anyways. Better to see a crash now so they can fix than on the 20th?
  21. I would think that its to help maintain the servers by adding people gradually, but unless they do the same at launch, wouldnt it make more sense if they just let everyone in? Better ths servers crash now then at launch.
