  3. /facepalm at 92.47% of the posts in this thread Why are you hyping up a game that hasn't been released yet? Did the SWTOR launch teach you nothing about waiting for the game to actually release before passing judgement on it? It is the same, blind fanboy-ism that flooded other gaming forums before the SWTOR release. Beta doesn't mean anything, people in the SWTOR beta were telling everyone it was going to be the be-all-end-all MMO that will die for our sins and deliver us to gaming Nirvana. We saw the same hype with TERA and D3 and both of them failed as hard (if not worse) than SWTOR and I have a sinking suspicion that GW2 will follow suit. Don't get me wrong, I want more quality games on the market. I'll play whatever I find more entertaining and the competition generated by the competing games only means more quality content for the players. I just find it highly ironic that the main reason people dislike SWTOR is because it did not live up to expectations, so they move to another game, set their expectations ridiculously high again and repeat the process.
  4. I only see that response when someone is being a jerk and talking down to their teammates and clearly getting angry, which leads me to believe that OP was not simply asking why his peers were not capping objectives.

  6. Alright I will elaborate, this idea would lead to far more exploiting than actually serving a purpose. Indefinite "God mode" is never good in a pvp setting. Even the fix you suggested of resetting as soon as you get a medal would still leave a lot of room for one person to exploit. A more fitting fix would be to just increase the amount of expertise on recruit gear and give them set bonuses or something of the sort. At the moment though, no class (regardless of gear) should leave a warzone without at least one medal. Even if it's not a damage/heal medal, there are a ton of defense/offense medals that are insanely easy to get. I just got out of a warzone with a 12k HP dps scoundrel who had 6 medals so there is really no excuse

  9. Although bolster does adjust some with gear level, it's basically the same stats regardless in wz. You will notice a little bit more of a difference if you engage in any world pvp though. Besides, the 40 vanguard gear is probably one of the best looking sets in the game, so it was worth it regardless
  10. Operatives could use some form of gap closer, maybe not a teleport, but it can be made to work. Operatives are elite agents of the empire, which we all know has access to all kinds of crazy gadgets. While smugglers are lawless criminals who have all kinds of black market connections. Off topic but related to RP, does anyone have any experience RPing as an imperial non-force user, seems like all the sith would be *** holes to you for "RP reasons" was in a long convo about it last night and this reply reminded me of it

  14. You edit your posts so fast it's kind of hilarious, I would be happy to 1v1 you but sadly my fatman char is level 32, and got abandoned when they saved pot5. You don't actually ever point out how the spec is bad though, just type "LOL ITS BAD I DO LEET DPS" over and over, we get it you are a pyro and so cool because of it. now like i said, run along, come back with some actual points, then I'll take you seriously

  16. I can see these changes working, I usually play tactics and thought about trying out assault today. have the combat tech set and not the elim, and I noticed my damage (although still impressive) to not be as over the top. Don't think I have had a HiB hit over 4k yet

    I am going to completely ignore the point of the topic so I can laugh at you for using the letter "O" instead of the number "0". You type like a high school aged girl. On topic however, taugrim himself (the guy who came up with the spec) says 1.3 basically broke it. But hey, if it works for you, more power to ya
  18. With the death of the iron fist build, shield is not seen much anymore in pvp. I play tactics and although it is an effective spec, assault just has so much more burst and is easier to play. Right now it's cried about as being OP which is why you see a lot of people rolling it atm
  19. Tactics and Assault are the two better pvp specs at the moment. Shield is a lot weaker then it should be in pvp atm, although it is amazing for questing. I would recommend assault for now because you can get some of your better talents earlier and you get the appropriate ammo for the spec early as well. It's a pretty boring spec though so I highly recommend going tactics once you get around your 30s Edit: check the bounty hunter powertech and the trooper vanguard forums for more info

  21. Everyone is reading over the part where I posted about playing Advanced prototype/tactics. I need to just include that in my sig. You're right though, I do like the class, but I like it because Republic Commando was one of my favorite video games and body type 3 in the 40 pvp gear looks just like the characters from that game. But I digress, my main issue is that everyone is throwing around false information about our defensive capabilities and suggesting changes that would break the class, such as adding a cd to flame burst or a 10m range to rail shot. I really don't care what happens to pyro as long as the nerf stays within the spec and does not damage pyro mercs, who are already having a hard enough time as it is. I'm not trying to argue that they don't have insane burst, or that their rotation is complex and requires a lot of micromanagement.
