  1. I've recently switched over to Veng from being a long time rage player and love the 1v1 dps pressure and rotation w/ the added survivability via unstoppable and deafening defense! Great video as i learned some good rotations and feel from it and hope to put it to good use in WZs!

  4. Thanks Elyx I was wondering if i trade out the 2 points in brutality for approx 85~90% crit chance, what might i put it into? - Would 1 pt for the free smash be worth it? Does vengeance use smash as part of their rotation? - 1 more point in Sundering Throw as that's a main component in the vengeance rotation? - 2 points for the force scream mini bleed add on via Draining Scream? I kinda like the bleed theme haha - 2 points in enraged sunder for that extra 1 rage? Would like feedback from experienced pvp players for maximum dps/killing efficiency.   5. Weird but I actually left Rage for Vengeance after 1.4 and being a long time rage smasher and am much happier w/ vengeance and its single target dps and survivability features. *shrug* to each his own i guess
  6. I like the new force wave as a shadow too as im usually moving towards things vs. running away and it plays perfectly for that. For example, force speeding out of the gate and then hitting force wave by the door now is that much faster and harder to stop by the other team on voidstar if they are setting the bomb. Or for denova, sometimes I can catch a bunch of players before they reach the middle fort and push the whole group back giving us a chance to cap it bc they cant see us.
  7. Tab is your regular targetting, but its irritating and has a "range" to it, there also is a feature in your preferences to change things so that tab targets the closest thing to the center of your visual area vs. "next target" ... sometimes it might work for certain playstyles.

Doesnt 2 points in Deafening Defense give 15% damage reduction when Enraged Defense is active for 15 secs combined w/ a WZ adrenal for 15% damage reduction give at least 10 secs of 30% damage reduction and a lil hp back? Thats kinda like a Bounty Hunter's blue bubble (25% DR for 12 secs.) ... of course there is a rage cost, but in the thick of battle, i've heard that rage isn't an issue for Vengeance? I usually won't pop it in a 1v1 and just use the adrenal, but in those big scrums, im sure that flat mitigation helps out.

Ya this is for PVP and the finisher to me is the most important attack as that removes the player from doing any more damage, healing, objective grabbing, cc'ing etc and the cooldown is super short anyways. This is a strength of the vengeance build from what im seeing and while im not spending stat points to get there, i am concerned about the 2 points in brutality being better used elsewhere if there are suggestions. Ya my normal crit is 25% unbuffed and i am aiming to unlock that class buff for 30% ... im just looking for ways to become a more effective dps/killing machine, that's all

Thanks for the feedback - i think i want to make one thing clear ... im not talking about stats as much as taking Brutality in the 2nd tier of the rage tree for that added 15% bonus - i'd rather not miss any crits on my finisher as sometimes against better teams / players that little bit of damage + time makes all the difference. Should i move those 2 points into Enraged Sunder in the immortal tree for the added rage? Or one more point in Sundering Throw as saber throw is super important in Vengeance? I'm currently toying w/ this build and am learning the vengeance ropes after being a long time rage player. On top of this problem we have to deal w/ WZ quitters too that quit a few secs before the WZ starts, which gives no time for the group to fill up properly ... if you're gonna quit the WZ before it starts, do it early - or is this a way that certain groups do it deliberately to stack the odds in their favor? Lately I've been in WZ w/ 5 or 6 at the start ... really helpful in getting our weekly 9 wins accomplished - thanks for nothing BW. Either way, it seems as if none of this was play tested prior to release like all the other things out there. *sigh*
  12. Most EWH weapons are horribly optimized and are a deliberate time sink by BW to keep us subbed longer ... I would get the juggy EWH one just for the hilt and throw it into my WH saber just for the damage boost as the rest of the stats are rubbish ... after the 3000 RWZ comm grind, i would expect something spectacular in performance and in looks perhaps ... i know i was happy the day (back when we had champ/bm bags) i got my red w/ black core saber.

Aloha all, Long time rage juggy who made a recent switch to vengeance and am loving it ... i ran across this while speccing and just want some confirmation / input on whether its possible to get 100% crit on our finisher, vicious throw. - impale or shatter to activate savagery which gives 60% crit to vicious throw - brutality in the rage tree for +15% crit to vicious throw - regular 25%+ natural crit = 100% crit chance? or does other things detract from it or mitigate that chance? I know its energy damage and can be mitigated, but besides that is there anything im missing? I'm trying to get that % high so that finishing people quicker may translate to more wins.
  14. For the second week in a row, I have to ask if there is going to be any downtime / maintenance tonight? It would be nice to get ample notice this time, unlike last week's emergency (but expected) downtime to fix the 1.4 patch that got posted on the website only a little while before the servers came down. Some of us do actually plan our playtime around your scheduled downtime. And since I know that you can vary when the downtime happens, how about changing it up so the west coast and pacific players get a break for once? Its been a year already i think - little gestures like that go a long way to keeping your remaining (and loyal + paying) subs happy.
  15. Sigh, i went 15 losses until i got a win last night ... i feel your pain. all i can say is dont give up and keep gearing up while sharpening your play skills and try to find a good pvp guild so you can run w/ better players etc.

I posted a little while back this thread regarding the same topic as well: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=537316 I regularly farm the Castle Panteer on Alderaan upper level champions for blue drops and credits from the trash mobs. There are 2 champions on the 2nd right elevator as you go into the castle that ALWAYS gave blue or sometimes orange or purple drops that now only give greens ... they are pretty difficult for the appropriate level characters to kill and have trash mobs along the way to keep things challenging. Nothing makes me more disappointed and irritated that these kinds of things got messed w/ as they weren't broken to begin with while there are so many other pressing issues that BW could've dealt with. I confirm that champ mobs have been messed with.
  18. 50s picking on lowbies is lame - i just wave at them or sit down next to them to watch them pve ... if they attack me, ill play w/ them to entertain myself, but its pointless killing them. If they lip off, then they earn a quick dirtnap. Stealth characters are probably not going to engage in a fair fight as that's what they're supposed to do haha. I was leveling up my bounty hunter (lvl 31 pyro) on alderaan the other day and got attacked by a guardian (lvl 31) ... im not super geared but am experienced at pvp and burned him down w/o much effort ... a few mins later i came across a lvl 38 assassin whom i attacked for the hell of it and dispatched him pretty easily as i know the playstyle and kept him at range when i could. Open world pvp makes for fun random action if everyone is within similar levels ... i try to come and help w/ my 50s if lowbies are getting picked on

This is what it should say: We’re committed to: about every six weeks, to breaking the game w/ more poorly coded patches w/ massive downtime and more downtime to fix the first broken patch ... we're proud of our record of doing that for one year in a row now.   23. The maintenance would be not needed if they didnt break the GTN in the first place ya? haha I'm surprised that BW didnt try to blame the broken GTN on the users computer and request all DX Diag and stuff over and over again
  24. That is perfectly sound logic, except for one thing. BW always releases buggy patches and IF they only tested things and did a better job in the first place, we wouldn't have to have secondary downtimes to repatch their patch. This is what happens every single time there is a big patch. Can you imagine how many people would die if BW ran a hospital? Oh give them this drug .... oh wait, that one was bad ... give them this one ... ooops too late, your pateint has died! omg lol fail.
  25. Its 1045p in hawaii where i am and the servers are coming down soon. My one night off to play and im screwed again. What i meant about prime time is that normally the servers go down at 9pm in hawaii and that's prime time for me. Australia area players have it worse ... EVERY FRIKIN WEEK ... if you don't live in our area, you wouldn't understand
