  1. Wat? You know, there are English servers in the EU...
  2. You are much better off upgrading your CPU.
  3. It has become easier. Faster. More efficient. More fun? I don't know. I started my MMO career in UO and, while I didn't know any better, I feel that I enjoyed the randomness of it all more. It could of course be the "first love" syndrome. Sure, it took more effort to understand what the game is about and what you're supposed to do. Playing the game was pointless if you didn't have friends or didn't make friends quickly. It was extremely punishing if you didn't know how to build a character. But in the end the experience was more satisfying. When you managed to down that monstrous, piece of crap world boss that required a few friends with you, it made you feel extremely good. Then you found out that there were world bosses that in some cases required co-operation between different guilds it blew your mind. Then after you managed to get all that über gear some PK guild managed to track you down, jumped you and you lost your best gear. And the only one you could blame was yourself for not taking precautions, not being careful enough. It was difficult, it was frustrating, but it was more satisfying as well. Would I still like it after 6 years of Theme Park? I don't know, and I wish someone comes up with a new, modern sandbox formula.
  4. No. In WoW, there are multiple quest hubs in a zone with multiple(4-5 at least) simultaneous quests within a reasonable distance. They have even removed the travel between quest hubs so once you're done you can just auto-travel to the next hub.
  5. Lol.. As if anyone contemplating about quitting would sub for a year even with Diablo 3 added. It's normal promotion for Blizz fans that many dedicated players will appreciate.
  6. You should understand human nature, instead of going into the specifics of why you can or can not compare them. The fact is that even if WoW did take years to get to where it is now, people expect the same kind of polish and features in a game that is structured in a similar manner. There is no way in hell anyone can deny the fact that this game resembles WoW VERY much, so much that for many players it REQUIRES some of the same features that Blizzard found out WoW requires after much trial and error.
  7. Yeah the thing is most of the questing is so "tubed" that having a handful of players in the same area as you leads to problems. This game just wasn't built to sustain more than a couple of players in the same area and that's one of the things that's killing it for me atm. I like my MMOs "massive".
  8. This is extremely important information considering a large part of American middle school students do not know where cheese comes from. No, really. Education is a great thing.
  9. Guild Wars 2 is a good bet, action focused combat and no subscription fee. Prepare for frequent expansions though. Oh and for Sandbox lovers, ArcheAge seems like the best bet for the next good sandbox, but it doesn't have a western publisher and there's really no way of knowing if it'll turn out to be any good.
  10. Well considering I stopped playing already no. I usually buy my games on discount, but in MMORPGs I want to be there right from the start. It's a risk I'm willing to take, since I'm not poor (a bit cheap, maybe). Sometimes it pays off, sometimes I end up empty handed.
  11. Huh? In WoW the Alliance was the more popular choice from day one. I don't know if it has changed since I quit about a year ago but I doubt it.
  12. Except that the balance of power is never stable. One side always tackles the other off it's throne and the masters must attempt to restore the balance. It has not been long since the AMDire had the upper hand, but then the Intel council came up with the C2D and took the upper hand. Same on the GFX department, Ati used to dominate before the 6600/6800 range.
  13. There's a separate English forum for EU? Å_å
  14. It's not that I specifically want to play WoW, couple days ago it was nowhere on my mind since I grew extremely bored of it. However this game is so similar to WoW, yet lacking in polish that I see no reason to play it if it turns out that WoW truly does what this game does but better, with the exception of VO.
  15. WoW didn't feel dead to me. But I guess your theory will be put to the test since after a break of over a year I've once again resubbed, the disappointment that is TOR ignited a spark of curiosity so I decided to find out if there really is any point in playing a WoW styled theme park when the "original" is still going so strong.
