  1. What it will do, Mr.Emoman,(if I may), is prevent the few people left playing this game, from leaving due to boredom. Atleast this way, they will have a means to occupy some time rather than sit on a very very very empty fleet(sounds so imposing..FLEET(however empty it may be!)
  2. I just want to know how this same realm LFG is going to help a server with 14 people during prime time.
  3. To me it sounds like a bunch of super sensitive emo little kids wanting a perfect utopian virtual society where every piece of loot is rolled on responsibly and involves logic and a genuine chat/item comparison with another person. What they fail to understand is that people are greedy by nature, and that's why you don't give them the benefit of doubt. You design your software to deal with idiots...like class specific items etc.etc. Very little of this virtual "community" remains in MMORPG's anymore...for good or for bad, accept it, live with it. If you don't want to be involved with x-server LFG, don't, you have a choice...trust me. Anyways, who cares, game's damn dead anyways, they can enjoy their same server LFG tool to play with 14 people on the fleet. I'm sure it's the same bunch of people crying about it who didn't want any changes to UI. I'm not sure if it's pathetic or naive. ……………………………………..________ ………………………………,.-‘ …………….“~., ………………………..,.- …………………………..“-., …………………….,/………………………………………..â€:, …………………,?………………………………………………\, ………………./…………………………………………………..,} ……………../………………………………………………,:`^`..} ……………/……………………………………………,: ……/ …………..?…..__…………………………………..:`………../ …………./__.(…..“~-,_…………………………,:`………./ ………../(_….â€~,_……..“~,_………………..,:`…….._/ ……….{.._$;_……â€=,_…….“-,_…….,.-~-,},.~â€;/….} ………..((…..*~_…….â€=-._……“;,,./`…./ ………../ …,,,___.\`~,……“~.,………………..`…..}…………../ …………(….`=-,,…….`……………………(……;_,,-†…………/.`~,……`-………………………….\……/\ ………….\`~.*-,……………………………….|,./…..\,__ ,,_……….}.>-._\……………………………..|…………..`=~-, …..`=~-,_\_……`\,……………………………\ ……………….`=~-,,.\,………………………….\ …………………………..`:,,………………………`\…………..__ ……………………………….`=-,……………….,%`>–==“ …………………………………._\……….._,-%…….`\ ……………………………..,< `.._|_,-&``................`\
  4. The problem with people like you is that you are MMO dinosaurs(and trust me, I don't mean this in an insulting fashion) . The concept of "community" in MMO's has been dead for about 8 years now. What you folks forget is that the demographic of people who play MMO's has practically taken a 180 degree turn. Majority of the people that play the game nowadays care more about content and features as opposed to a virtual lifestyle(from which comes this notion of a "community", which was very much dead once EQ died to some extent) What WoW did was NOT destroy the game, but evolve it. It made MMO's more accessible, simplistic and streamlined. It basically brought a whole new demographic to the MMO industry. Whether that was a good or a bad thing is debatable and I have no interest in invoking that debate. What I'm trying very hard not to say is "please don't sound ignorant by saying crap like "WOW DESTROYED COMMUNITY" ".
  5. a) You are clueless. b) People still play this game?
  6. Why do we have dumb-*** arguments and comparisons like this. Screw fairies or elves or bountyhunters...and all that crap. Give me a game to play where content is rich, fun, engaging, entertaining. I don't care if it's a figment of a monkeys imagination, if it's engaging and can keep my attention and occupy my time, I'll play it. All this fantasy vs star wars etc etc..it's all *********** FANTASY!! GET IT! WoW or SWTOR should not be compared based on whether it's a fantasy and whether one has more believable characters etc.etc. It's content...it's the things that keep you indulged. You can have an unbelievably good story, yet if you make the game sh#itty and shallow, you'll have nothing. I don't care if I'm playing with orcs or sith's, if i run out of **** to do, I run out of **** to do. End of story. WoW has done the content part extremely well. SWTOR hasn't(or maybe hasn't done it YET). People are not leaving because they rather play with an orc or elf or whatever, they are leaving because it's boring.
  7. I agree with that comment. This is the problem, people want perfect groups. it's idiotic and a childish concept. S##T's going to get ninjad once a while, but atleast you'll have the darn chance to run a flashpoint. I rather lose the item thrice in ten runs than never have the opportunity to do that content. Last I checked(and I quit a few days after the legacy system came out), there were 14-15 people on balmoraa, like 9 on Voss. This is on the server Ven-Zallow, which had medium pop. I think people who disagree with LFR/LFG are bloody delusional, in all honesty, these people are stuck with the notion of an utopian garden of Eden where everyone is going to bend over backwards to help you. As much as I want that, you have to be consuming copious amount of opiates to believe that it'll ever happen. ./doublefacepalm.
  8. Actually in the world of "restarts"(as you mentioned above), 90% of the times, LFG works like a charm. Also, i rather be negative about X number of PUG's than never have an opportunity to do any flashpoints and sit in a ghost-town. It's because of people like you that this game is still stuck in the bloody 1990's. All this community that people keep jabbering about..you won't have any of it left if you keep on supporting these antique MMO concepts. You hardly have people left on more than half the servers. Just reading the post as the one above makes me cringe as to the mindset of people who are playing this game. The MMO market and demographic has changed, accept it, adapt, build on top of those ideas and flourish. Not step back in the damn 90's and make a nostalgic MMO with fewer functions than the current ones and fail miserably, which is what has happened, and people like the one that I quoted above enabled it. It sounds harsh, but is the truth.
  9. I never said anything about switching AC or microtranactions. Please don't mould my words. I am however an avid supporter of mods/addons/macros/LFG/LFR/. it brings a lot of creativity and customization to the game. Anyways..whatever we think doesn't really matter anymore. I unsubbed initially the day the legacy was released. Touted as the biggest "FREE" addition to any MMO in the history of MMO's, turned out little more than a tool to rearrange potraits, provide a few buffs(which was the only good thing about the legacy additon)..and a lvl 16 weapon. Anyways, enough of my b1tc8ing, I think people who love the game will stay and people who are fed up of it's antique nature will quit. Those who stay will be hardcore supporters of the status quo and the primitive thinking behind it while others will move on to more richer games that provide more features to hardcore and casuals alike.
  10. I'm glad rabid fanboys are finally beginning to see the implications and impact of their avid adherence to age old MMO "principles" and how it's destroying the darn game. I said it earlier and I'll say it again, all this commotion that idiots created with "no LFR/LFG/crossream BG's" and all the outdated MMO garbage that was spewed...is ultimately going to lead to a severe decline in the number of people who play this game. Ultimately there will be nobody left to criticize the game as everyone that provided any sort of constructive criticism to make the game better got fed up and left. Then when someone posts things like "I have 50 people on my server, help EA/BW", he/she gets responses such as "That's a healty pop, what else are you looking for?" from one of the damn fanboys. I see this behavior repeated in so many threads. Trust me fanboys, people are not asking for these features to make the game worse...they are asking for them to make the damn game better(apparently that thought never occurs to some of these idiots). Things such as the following: Macros Customizable UI(which many people were against!) API LFG LFR Crossrealm functions The above mentioned features do not make the game worse, they in fact make it much richer and yields much more interest in the game both from casuals and hardcore players and also some coders. For those of you that don't agree with it, don't use it, simple. The games future will be much like EVE online or darn AION etc...it has a market, but a very niche market, a very small audience. This was not the purpose of the game(or atleast I hope it wasn't), a game with this amount of time and money invested in it should not be anything short of a major competitor. For BW/EA to even mention that is a disservice to the game, however if the very creators of the game are willing to accept it, what can one do. What makes me sad is to see what a missed opportunity this was, the storyline was great, still is, but if you don't supplement that with features mentioned above, then ...well, you see the results with empty servers. (Wait till some fanboy jumps and say "BUT FATMAN IS DOING SO WELL"!) ./facepalm .
  11. I don't even know why people argue about this anymore. I've said this in some other posts and will probably say it again. It's like Microsoft or Novell handing you a spanking new version of Winblows or SLES and you come to find out that you have bloody Winblows ME or SLES 9.3. When you ask supporters of the software, the only thing they have to say is "it's new, give it some time". The problem most people are facing(and finding it very hard to argue with fanboys) is..that you know what works and what doesn't when you look at the MMO industry, yet you come out with an outdated product touting it as the biggest freggin' accomplishment in the world of MMO's..something totally radically different. BUT IT'S NOT, in fact it has fewer features than a lot of MMO's. My honest question is, when they designed this, did they not take into consideration that the features that have worked(and worked very well for millions of players),? As someone mentioned earlier, it very much feels like a RPG that you have to pay a monthly fee for. In terms of collaboration/playing with friends etc. etc. this game is lacking the very basics of what makes a game a MMORPG.
  12. Maybe if I summarize it for you, you'll get the point. Here it goes since it was hard to understand it the first time around: Server populations are currently very deceiving. For example you roll on a medium pop server . You expect to find groups for flashpoints etc. relatively easy, I mean common sense dictates that on a server that is marked as "medium", it'll take some amount of patience...I can live with that. As a healer, I've had to wait for practically hours to find a single group to do a HM, sadly this includes BT. The gist of the discussion here(and as voiced by majority of the people) is that, server populations are at a decline. For people who are unwilling to accept that, first they will deny it, then they will resort to asking for numbers, and once numbers are presented they will resort to saying silly **** like "go back and play WOW". That's typical of fanboys, I accept that. But for people like me, who have been part of raiding progression, completed all the HM raids and seeing the guild and raid attendance wither away, it's almost ignorant to deny that people are are not leaving. A lot of these people are not "rerolling", they are straight up quitting. As I said, if you are unable accept that, there is no amount of proof one can present to make you believe anything.
  13. They'll open up transfers. It's just that they'll provide the service once there is nobody left to transfer sadly. As mentioned before, screw content, give me ppl to play with, content will come overtime, I'm willing to wait for that, but being on planets with max 15 people during prime-time..is not sexy. What I want to really want to know is what the max capacity of a server is. Reason I ask is that the server status. When a server is labeled as heavy/medium/light, what do those numbers represent. I can run a server, set the max concurrent connects to 20 and call that number "high". 10 people access my host, it's medium...less than 5, it's light. So everything is relative But here we are talking about an enterprise software, behind which is a relatively successful software giant..then how in the world can they call a pop of ~700 concurrent connections "medium"....especially for a new game around which was so much excitement and hype. The software is also flimsy if you ask me...I've been in enough Ilium raids to realize that >20 players in a group..used to be a bloody lagfest. You couldn't get a cast off without a massive lag. I mean, simple actions, such as opening a bag while you are running/jumping impacts game performance. Give it a shot, while you are running or jumping, open your bags with the B button...though this goes more into the physics of the engine the game is built on. It's sorta surprising that they even released a product stamped as a MMO when there's nothing MMO'ish about it.
  14. It's a good gimmick you know, a free digital pet here, a free week there, people get all riled up. And then you sit on the fleet, as a tank, for 2 hours to do one Flashpoint. At 50..you might be lucky enough to find a HM BT group, but that's it. Or you go to Ilium with 20 people in a PVP raid and are unable to cast one spell or move due to the lag(./end sarcasm)..not that ilium is even alive anymore. Regardless, as big as a fan I was of this game when I initially played my first toon, I never thought that I'd give up this soon. 1.2 was further discouraging. The Legacy system was touted as being bloody AMAZING. What you got was a couple of buffs from your own toons, and a lvl 16 weapon? Apparently a lot of people were extremely happy that they got to arrange the portraits of their toons in a certain manner and use a spell from the other characters once every 20 minutes(The MMORPG genre will never be the same again, a revolutionary concept really(./sarcasm again)). Regardless, for the people that are happy with all this, I say bravo...I hope you enjoy it. For people people who are on the forums supporting EA/BW, i simply say, I hope you enjoy the MMORPG with 50-60 player on a server per faction soon...I'm sure you are one of those people who dawn a cape and a mask and meet in that field and fight with fake light-sabers. There is not much that doesn't make these players happy. EA/BW will put an extra gash on your face during the character creating process and these people will rejoice. For people like me, looking for a bit more in-depth/interesting/challenging game..we'll find others. And challenging != let's make classes squishier and healers heal less at the expense of the players and call it "challenging"....because that's what a lot of faboy's will scream about. Regardless, 2 more days.
  15. The question that begs to be asked is..... What the hell are you going to do with 30 days free? I didn't unsubscribe from the game because I didn't receive 30 days free but due to the following: a) Dead Servers b) Nothing to do c) No API d) No macro system(don't even say "automation" because you'll be branded an idiot immediately. e) No LFG f) No LFR d) Boring PVP, dead world PVP. e) Waiting for practically hours to get in a single instance f) Mindless grinding/crafting/exploring g) Bugs up the yin-yang ...I mean, it'll be yet another 30 days of mindless running around doing the same nonchalant things. After leveling 2 toons to 50..I refuse to go to dead zones like Voss...Belsalvis...Hoth..Tatooine. They have like 10 ppl each.
  16. The reason it lost my subscription was simple, it's a game that lacks EVERYTHING that makes a MMORPG successful. Bugs, no API, no macro system, lack of endgame content, PVP(made even worse by 1.2), lack of LFG and dual specs and God forbid if you were ever in a full group on ilium(oh lord the memories of the horrendous lag). All my friends who were excited and formed a guild left. Basically in my opinion, it's very much like Microsoft saying that they'll make a new and amazing OS, and then hand you a bloody copy of Windows ME in 2012. Then all the fans suddenly defended it as "The other game had 8 years to matures". I call it bull. The reason is as follows: They had the formula to success of a MMO, yet refused to implement it. On a positive side, had fun playing my first inquisitor to 50, then it was over, and I doubt my impression of the company will change based on how they have responded to customers. For those who like it, I'm glad it worked out, for those of us...it was a good experience to start with and then just went sour.
  17. Agreed. SWTOR however, didn't do that. In-fact that's what's makes it so dumb. It's like making a big deal about releasing a new OS. Then when it comes out you find out that's is Windows ME. Suddenly, all the fanboys jump up and say "BUT IT TOOK WINDOWS 10+ YEARS TO MATURE". Yeah, it did, but the foundations of what people want and what works is already there, why release a product that's basically a bare-bone MMO. I never understood what BW was thinking releasing a game that was lacking some of the most important features that the most successful MMO has implemented(things such as macros,API, rated bg's, LFG/Raidfinder....just to name a few). Open world PVP was and is dead. Illum fiasco was..just that, a fiasco. You couldn't get a cast off in a full group without horrendous lag. 3 days left for me and just got done removing the game from my host and I really don't miss a thing. Regardless, I did have a great time with the story mode on my inquisitor. Everything after that, was more or less boring and silly.
  18. Unsubscribed as well. Implementing so much garbage when they have barely fixed any pre release bugs. D3 or GW2. I'll wait rather than spend another dime on this game..or as a matter of fact any bw/ea game anymore. If the only way to retain a customer is to basically force them to reroll by swinging the proverbial pendulum...then I have no intention to be a part of the subscription base. Cheers-
  19. Sadly, I'm very happy with the way a scoundrel plays now. It's less buttonmashing than an assasin so I like the class. I'm sure if these changes are implemented, I won't have much interest left in the class or the game. Having played almost everything other than a sentinel, scoundrel is the only class that I'm having fun with. I really wonder why they had to meddle with it. Really is going the way rift went with endless class meddling and nerfing and rebalancing. In PVP, at this moment, anyone that plays their class well can have an upper hand.
  20. Think before you say stupid things like that please. With 2 dps trees in there, I'm wondering how you came to that conclusion. Feel free to explain.
  21. Sometimes, the best option is to S-T-F-U You should have done that.
  22. The thing is it's not minor. For some classes such as juggs it makes it extremely distracting, i mean EXTREMELY. Also, as you mentioned, they need to fix the actual issues before this cosmetic garbage. So don't support them if they are doing exactly the opposite of what they should be.
  23. And who are you? The person who decided that? A developer? A game designer? Or just someone with an opinion? And a silly one at that.
