  1. Ah yes, there's the condescending, elitist reply right on cue from the OP. Obvious troll is troll. That said I will agree that the Jug/guard are much slower paced than other classes. The attacks even feel like they are sluggish and more repetitive than many other classes. The mobility/control is great, but it is harder and takes more effort to keep agro on multiple enemies as the MT compared to other classes. I wonder if this has something to do with the animation times and relatively slow attacks, compared to say my shadow tank that can rapidly spam attacks and put out damage to keep agro easier. In the end I agree that it could use some attention but I do not feel that it is as broke as people make it out to be online. As my aside, I never understood the people that build one character and refuse to play any other character or gripe about needing to creating alts and trying new things in order to fully explore what a game has to offer. It sounds like you have several alts. Step back, take a breather and try other things before coming back to the class if you find it getting frustrating.
  2. I certainly see the desire for a class you enjoy performing well in the way you enjoy playing or envision them, however, it has been said before the guardian is a tank class and you seriously shine with a healer or working as a team. This is a fundamental element of the class and is designed to perform this role. Should guardians be able to put out reasonable and respectable damage? Sure, for solo pvp you are more interested in dealing damage than absorbing it, and there are many ways you can do respectable damage with the skills you posess and with experience you can excel well. Despite this many people seem to be crying for not only to remain the class with one of largest ability absorb damage, but to also they want to perform on the same level of DPS as a strait DPS class like an operative or sniper. I'm sorry but you can't have both and remain balanced. You can spec for DPS as a guardian, but you shouldn't have the same numbers or pure damage ability of the glass cannons because by nature of your base class of jedi knight you already have excellent survivability. If you want to have the same DPS numbers and ability, then you need to give up some of your tanking ability and survivability to remain balanced and that my friends is called the Jedi sentinel. This is the entire framework that MMOs are built around, tanks spec'd for tanking don't pull the numbers of strait min maxed DPS I'm sorry and it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
  3. I don't wanna sound insulting or condescending, here so don't take it that way, but I wanted to make sure. After you enter the instance and the private approaches you and after you have control of your character again, you are going into the command center room and approaching the comander and clicking him to talk if it doesn't start automatically on approach right, or does it not get that far?
  4. I see what everyone is saying regarding lore and by every bounty hunter you mean a total of 2 in starwars lore that use jet packs, Boba and Jango Fett. I can also see how it is a bummer that you have a jet back that is useable only with a couple of attacks. However, you need to consider balance. Powertech is the tanking spec for BH obviously, jedi knight defender is the tanking spec for republic force users (ignoring a certain shadow spec at the moment). These are melee based classes, specifically the tank classes. They need abilites to close the distance between ranged attack users for balance reasons. You want to give BH merc, that have some high DPS, a means to not only do high amounts of damage, but also to easily escape melee attackers despite the fact that you have damage mitigation abilities and stuns? Be real here and realize the OP'd for what it is. You can't have the high ranged damage and then want to be able be untouchable in the process. So in conclusion I admit it would be neat, but come on people be realistic here and don't dismiss all these argeuments pointing out balance strickly because I WANT HAZ JETPAK NOW KTHXBYE! Edit: correction 3, there was that bounty hunter assassin in Episode 2 iirc.
  5. I'll avoid beating the dead horse with people chiming in about the way the sage class is structured and start with stating it has all been said prior to this. I wanted to comment on the fact that people are classifying yoda wrong. He is not a consular, he is an old jedi knight. He has been around for about 900 years depending on when you are referencing him. In the prequel he taught all the younglings saber use because he was a legend in the use of the lightsaber and everyone basically said there was no one better at it which he proved in several fights. However, yoda has been around for centuries and he has learned a lot about mastering the living force so as it is harder for him to move in his old age without channeling the force he has explored the mental aspect of being a jedi and has mastered that too. Yoda doesn't really fit all that well into many molds due to his age and having so many years of experience. The way I see consulars and knights for bioware are more a focus for the younger jedi early and middle in their careers. Their instructors see what they have a talent for and help them develop that first with other things coming later. I can also see many knights that actually live to an old age to start to focus more on the living force and expanding their knowlege in that fashion after reaching a peak in their physical training. We do have to be realistic though, that is not the focus of the game and they have to balance classes for different play styles and make them unique. Just like your advance class trainer tells you, I don't see a path of a diplomat, a loremaster, or other non-adventerer career focus ahead for you, so we do see that there are many many more non-player jedi types out there. Instead of focusing on the nagatives of what you don't have focus on the positive things that you do have, or focus on a class that gives you what you are looking for. You do have a lot of good choices to choose from.
  6. The previous posters have it spot on and have some greate advice for you there so I won't repeat all of what was said. I just wanted to add that there are many times when you get two dark side choices and several points in the game where you get two options for killing someone. In those cases Mako cares about motivation for doing the killing. If you are doing it for enjoyment or cruelty she will hate you for it. However, if you do kill with compansion or express that you feel bad about doing this and it is just your job, or that you kill them quickly so they don't suffer she really likes that. She understands killing comes with the job and has a sense of honor behind it all.
  7. I have been looking for information on this topic so if it has been answered I apologize. I wanted to know how plausible it would be to go darkside with a jedi knight. Do you gain any companions that have a more favorable view of that path or is it like the jedi consular and everyone you get later are lightside? I only ask because I'm interested to see how the story develops differently so thanks in advance.
