  1. Hi, I've recently returned to the game after a good few months break, and decided to play a mercenary from scratch as it is my favorite class. I've had a max level mercenary previously, and recall that i could cleanse a good many dots that were applied to me, such as incendiary missile, bleeds, poisons, sniper probes and snare, marauder snare etc, but that no longer seems to be the case (i can't be certain about snipers or marauders having not faced any since gaining cleanse). Could someone give me a rundown of what dots/effects i can still cleanse please? Thanks
  2. Hi to Vio! Nice to see you are both still around, i'll make a character on TOFN this evening and hopefully chat to you there.
  3. Haha good times indeed. <- Mardi What server are you playing on? I enjoyed the video btw, got the feeling there is some friction between you and Wildgun (or whatever his name was) the smuggler. He the Hezz of your server?
  4. The packs are the best selling items because the money grabbers running this game put all the best items into those packs - speeders, armour, +41 power crystals for level 10 - but you are only being sold the chance to acquire them, so naturally people will end up buying more packs to try and get what they want. Pretty sad that the biggest revenue maker is not the game itself but the in-game Argos catalogue.
  5. The underworld force master set has a Kickass mask, I would actually prefer to run around in green and yellow pyjamas then wear this. The mercenary, and partisan warrior and inquisitor head armour is truly terrible. I do really like the operative armour though.
  6. Aside from the manner in which the information is conveyed, I have to agree with the OP because I am experiencing all of the above. For example, I will use ravage on my vengeance juggernaut, the global cool-down will trigger and the animation fire, but my target will take no damage. Once the global cool-down has elapsed ravage still remains available for use. The most annoying bug I have encountered lately however, is people disappearing after I have stunned them, only to reappear once the stun has worn off. When this happens they still remain targeted, but I am unable to attack them. The latter, in my experience, is a recent development and is very annoying.
  7. Hmm, interesting. I have had to make concessions on my graphic settings in this game to improve performance (a first), I shall give this a bash, thank you.
  8. Smash will have it's damage reduced by 2.35% - Is that an honest recap of what was said? I find myself utterly dumbfounded by this being offered as a solution to tone down a high damage, AoE ability that can guarantee a critical hit. As if this wasn't bad enough, I interpret the comment around vicious throw as meaning that it will have it's damage increased by 30%, which is almost as much as a *** as removing leap invulnerability from snipers unless under the effect of entrench. Total pants on head, window licking lunacy from what, to me, is the most inept bunch of developers ever to curse an MMO. Honestly, what a colossal bunch of *****.
  9. No dummy, it's not just sweep that is broken for. Regardless of this being an unpopular spec, this bug needs to be fixed.
  10. I personally think the Cartel Market is a load of crap, largely full of recycled and re-skinned armour and mounts. The few items that are shiny new have been placed into gambling boxes with the sole intention of duping people out of a much money as possible - why let a person buy an item directly when you can instead dangle that item in front of them and offer a chance of acquiring it for a "few measly pennies", to bait them into gambling away their money. To me this and the pathetic punitive implementation of the F2P system, only serve to showcase the level desperation Bioware have reached to screw money from those who are supporting their game, and how little they care about them.

    lolsmash ?

I think your warzone statistics are slightly exaggerated, nevertheless i was hit with a 4.5k sweep by a level 45 guardian on my sorcerer yesterday. Big thumbs up to BW for yet more piss poor class balancing.
  12. Sziroten i completely sympathize with you, but i personally struggle to see what else other than the underlying engine or perhaps shoddy client code could be responsible. I've had a fair amount of experience with developing 3D applications, not games, but VR and visualization tools for academia, and some of the things we were trying to do were extremely calculation intensive so had to be written well. In addition there was a certain amount of auto configuration of the underlying engine depending upon the detected hardware which would certainly contribute to performance. I realize this is just speculation based upon my experiences, but i am a little perplexed as to how this game can perform so poorly on such a powerful rig. I also am experiencing all of the problems you are and it infuriates me at times.
  13. That's not lag, that is the shocking performance of the game engine. I have an Alienware M18x with enough clout to run any game with a full compliment of maxed graphical settings without problem, any game other than this one. The frame rate i get at times is diabolical, even when there is no apparent reason for it - there isn't exactly a lot of eye candy on display in what is a largely static world. The only reason i keep playing this game is because i want a large scale Star Wars MMO to immerse myself in. There are some nice ideas in this game, but unfortunately they are surrounded by poor design decisions and half-arsed implementations.
  14. That actually is the intention. Along with this terrible idea you are also faced with the ridiculous costs associated with removing mods. Working to earn commendations to get gear i am fine with, having to trade the like item from the previous tier as well is poor design with little or no thought behind it as it restricts what you can purchase. In most cases the 'upgrade' you are gaining is anything but because it is so poorly modded, you end up having to grind yet more commendations to gain another item with the mods you actually want and then have to pay to remove them. Who thought this would be fun and rewarding? What a moron.
  15. Clip after clip of smash crits against nincompoop opponents *yawn*.
  16. You're the guy who made this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=508297. I'm not surprised you don't think marauders/sentinels are overpowered if that video is any indication of how you play, test or not.
  17. If anyone is awful it would be you. You have plenty of tools to keep you in me-lee range; charge (from zero distance if talented) or predation negate the dead-zone for kiting, deadly throw can snare (if talented), or failing that just use camo, you also have slows, or you if you are rooted you could use force choke. Trying to justify the necessity of a stun in order to compete is just ridiculous, for all other classes stuns/snares/mezzes are largely used to give you the upper hand in a fight not shield you from them. For the record i am fine with the damage output of a marauder, your damage reduction cds are bearable but you should not have a vanish - particularly one that is on a 45s cd, can be used without any regard to what DoT effects are on you as damage will not break the stealth, increases your movement speed, and renders you completely invisible. It can also be talented to extend its duration, movement speed and damage reduction.
  18. I personally am not at all excited about the prospect of new endgame content as what is currently available is dull and buggy. The different modes of difficulty only offer the same encounters with damage modified and the introduction of an enrage timer, and having to endure the same dialogue every time you run a flashpoint is just tedious. I'd rather they invested time into fixing the bugs that have been present since release; I recall being offered assurances that bug fixes would be a frequent occurrence. I also find it a ridiculous that adding more content is favoured over doing something like fixing Ilum so it is actually usable or of interest, the planet itself is boring to look at, everything is a dull shade of purple grey. I've never known a company to just turn a blind eye to problems or offer little to no information as to what is being done to combat them.
  19. I play as both a scoundrel and sage healer and i don't think marauders are especially over the top (yes i said it). Sure they hurt if they get into melee range as you would expect; this is their niche. I am finding rage juggernauts and pyro-techs far more problematic. Juggernauts in general are harder to escape from and smash bombers can do considerable burst at times, pyro-techs are strange in that i can't really figure them out having not played one (recently rolled one to see if i can find an effective way to counter them). I can deal with the everyday flame throwing baffoon but there are couple in particular that will chew through my health pool in seconds giving me little or no chance to heal or escape. I'd really like to know what they are doing because it happens consistently and from where i am standing it is rather ridiculous.

    Marking Healers

I've been playing a scoundrel healer lately which is my second healer class having moved away from my sorcerer. I have no problem with being marked in a wz or having to work to keep myself alive as well as my team-mates; if anything the moments where i am having to frantically run around whilst healing myself because one or more people have decided it's time for me to die are the most enjoyable. I'm not saying that being a constant focus target is enjoyable, it can certainly be frustrating at times but that is part and parcel of being a healer. In actual fact my frustrations are largely attributed to my team-mates doing nothing about those trying to smash me in a pulp whilst still expecting me to keep them alive, rather than those with the common sense to come after me.
  21. How does a persons ignorance to a particular game option to help aid (but in no way fully counter) the poor targeting/selection mechanics in this game require them to L2P ? You could of offered advice in a polite manner instead of looking for an opportunity to throw out some chav stock phrase in a vein attempt to exert your self-superiority.
  22. Then lol don't play a vengeance juggernaut if you lol don't think much of them.
  23. I play a vengeance juggernaut and i like it a lot. It doesn't bother me that i may not serve up crits comparable to other classes it just means that i may have to work a bit harder and utilise more abilities to earn my kills which imo is far more enjoyable.
  24. This is probably a bit off topic but this is neither the sole or primary reason that expertise should be removed. A stat that further adds to the gear divide between players is a terrible idea, especially in the way this is implemented - increase to damage dealt, reduction on damage received. It's completely nullified for players with an equal level of expertise (aside from the boost to healing) and creates world boss of an opponent for a player without any.
