  1. Scoundrel [unlucky] Tcharmz, Armstech, leveled crafting by only learning Endurance Heavy Cunning weapons (back when Cunning was a thing). Greatest Accomplishment -- sales of crafted gear exceeded costs of leveling. Jedi Knight [Master] Jeehd-ay -- trying to find as many conversations where I can have NPCs address me by name I'm considering using a level 60/65 token on a French server with a name like Meursault or Camus, depending on what's available.
  2. Ranked = 4x4, no objectives, just try to kill other players Unranked = 8x8, objectives, just trying to kill other players hurts the team; occasionally you get a 4x4 "breather" Now which of these sounds like Grad School, and which sounds like Kindergarten?
  3. Not that I could find, but check out my updated signature...
  4. First time I've ever seen that, but no regrets...other than I spent 15 minutes trying to find out if there was a real Dr. Rhapsody so I could add a link to the original in my sig.
  5. I guess it depends on how you use "tool"... I don't associate the word with a lack of intelligence per se, but rather a lack of independent will, more akin to "corporate stooge" or "corporate shill". Aowin's drivel, while grammatically correct and polite, is pretty much what I would expect from somebody spouting a party line. He flat out ignores any and every intelligent, rational objection to what he says and simply restates "his" "opinion" as if moving a few words around can change their meaning. See also, "True Believer"
  6. I'm pretty sure the OP is complaining that jacking up old content to new levels so that people can regrind it without adding any real new content sucks. #RegressionRaiding
  7. You can have either one you want. Here's what to do: 1) Get a blank T-shirt 2) Put it in a box 3) Open the box when Group C is empty I predict a 100% chance that the T-shirt will say whatever you want it to say. Caveat, opening the box early may cause unpredictable results. Welcome to the new world of "Everything I say is true unless you can prove me false." Debating is *so* much easier this way.
  8. #1, I don't know why you keep wasting your time trying to explain math to somebody who is clearly innumerate AND demonstrably unwilling to accept any refutation of anything he says regardless of the facts. There's a saying about what constitutes insanity, and I hate to see you heading in that direction. You are incorrect, there are at least three ways of moving out of Group C which rely on player agency: C1 - Players unsub and stop receiving any gear and stop playing. Each player that does so reduces the size of Group C. C2 - Players unsub and stop receiving any gear. They continue to play [as preferred], gaining credits, but no GC crates. With credits, they can purchase the gear of their choice from the GTN. Again, this decreases the size of Group C. C3 - Players continue to play and eventually get better gear. For any *finite* number of rolls, this isn't guaranteed, but if BW (as they have said they would) monitors the situation and takes action, players eventually move out of Group C. C4 - Players in Group C never die, the universe (and the game) doesn't end, so every nonzero chance event eventually occurs. You are such a pessimist, Khevar, I'm going to switch over to @AowinIsRight just as soon as I get my Tier 3 set.
  9. LOL, confused <> salty. People (including me) discussed the abusive drop rate of the certs (which is what you mean when you say "the whole loot table"), they just didn't get *as much* air time because they were much less problematic -- but "much less problematic" than [purple] jawa junk is a *far* cry from being anywhere close to acceptable as was. Certs needed to be nerfed -- not necessarily as hard as they were, but they needed nerfing. The only thing patch notes would have given you is another 24 hours or so of abusing the machine. Quit acting like *the lack of notice* was the straw that broke your back.
  10. Being "articulate" and "civil" are not dispositive of being a troll. Your post, for example, appears to be both articulate and civil. Also, "articulate" may not mean what you think it means -- while Aowin appears to be *literate*, the sheer number of equally literate replies to his posts asking him to explain what he means seriously calls into question his articulacy.
  11. And how are you going to find that out, exactly? It's a deco. Nobody has to actually open their mail and retreive it, nobody has to actually use it (i.e., add it to their deco collection), nobody has to actually use it in a GSH, nobody has to let you into their GSH even if they are using, and even if you could inspect everybody's private and public GSH's, you have no way of telling which ones are owned by multiple character's of a single legacy or which ones in different legacies belong to the same account, not to mention that players can change the owner of a GSH (and it's title) at will, so any statistics you did obtain have little to no probative value. At most you can get a rough count of people currently subbing that complain about not being able to get it (which, since you have no way of evaluating the veracity of those statements makes them as valid as counting the number of posters who say they got it).
  12. Did you really just denigrate somebody for assuming others' intentions while simultaneously assuming others' intentions? Why yes, yes you did.
  13. You know what else is a "cool story", "bro"? Everything else I've posted in this thread...which, like the thread itself, dates back to 2015-01-16 (several months before you showed up, it appears). Cool story, bro. Sorry you and yours were unlucky. And thanks for your opinion, backed up by absolutely 0 math at all. If you want to know why it got nerfed, you can start reading here (http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=7959582&postcount=151), although there may be a few earlier posts. Also literally, "nothing" has no stopping power, so it can't be stopping EAWare from doing anything. Thanks for telling me literally nothing I didn't already know (and post in this very thread).
  14. I was... wait for it... actually defending you against somebody who said you were against *any* nerf to the CSM: >>>Quote: Originally Posted by Jamtas >>>To be fair, that is LA's reaction prior to any nerf happening on the CSM My point was that you had already conceded that the purple jawa stuff was dropping too much (despite having initially been happy) and that it was the [unannounced, but obvious IMO] nerfing of the certs that pushed you, and several others over the edge.
  15. There is a certain poster who keeps talking about how "over" the issue s/he is Salty tears are salty. (And it's not Artemis, he's the poster I referred to who actually went from initial joy at the purple drop rates to realize that they were to high even before the nerf).
  16. It's a famous quote, not me speculating about your real-life gender. I'll give you that in general, Hoaratio, but I'm not trying to imply any inside knowledge -- everything I ever posted about the CSM was based upon math, logic, and non-mmo programming experience (coupled with a healthy dose of reality ) Just a generic reference to being stood up on the altar, I hope you can accept the literary license (matching up with the previous quote and Andrayah's name being feminine made me choose representing you as a jilted bride as opposed to the victim of a runaway bride). In any case, I was expressing sympathy with your situation -- unlike me, you really had confidence that BW was going to handle it with dignity instead of skipping town. Same here, although it won't be for much longer on my part. If BW can shore up the ops/pvp gearing issues and actually announce something like a new op in January, I might be back in time to post my N-Day celebration. In fact, I actually had a rough draft of some talking points you might wish to consider... http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9160160&postcount=15 Too bad the original voice actor isn't around.
  17. Had people not wailed and gnashed their teeth so loudly at the *possibly slight over*nerf, the galaxy might now have been filled with machines to grant the other rep. For the record, I did some experiments lately, and I managed to get 3 certs in maybe 1 hr of playing (I have two machines, though) at a cost of less than CR 500K each (which is nothing in our currently inflated economy). I can do this while right-clicking in a minimized window while surfing the web.
  18. The only problem I have is that it is being announced retroactively, so people who may have cared about such a thing could have subbed (or not subbed) accordingly. That said, I find it amusing that it is a decoration as opposed to something one could "proudly" display in public. BW could have at least made a 'flair' component (a "sucker" icon would be fitting), title, speeder, armor, or whatever. For five years of taking it like a champ, I feel people deserve something better than a deco (that, ironically, does look a bit like a giant sucker). Like maybe a special "walk of shame" emote What I'd *really* like is some sort of flair so that I can wear (with my Founder title) that shows my lack of continuous sub time, or better yet, something that shows continually subbed through 4.0 launch (but not after). Since it's being granted retroactively, maybe they could grant (mutually exclusive) prizes for Launch-2.0, Launch-3.0, and Launch-4.0, so that people can more accurately show their level of "dedication".
  19. You don't need duplicates, just go into edit mode, pick up, and then [re]place the inactive deco. I actually used tat to place my entire deco farm originally, but I found it was more convenient to just use my Nar Shadda entrance to house all necessary decos (vendors, GTN, Holds, mail) and leave room for the five-or-so most recently used ones.
  20. No, I had actually convinced him that the Jawa Junk drop rates were too high before the nerf...it was the loss of certs that broke him (and several others). But his day one reaction *was* unconditional love.
