  1. Unless you write the patch notes (and I don't actually know who does), you really can't take the blame, especially as nobody has updated the patch notes yet. FYI, I don't care about these particular items, I just care about reliable patch notes. I'm not sure about anybody else, but when I see something in the patch notes, I expect (hope) that it will work as described. For starters, if it's not part of the patch (and it appears that market inventory isn't), it probably shouldn't be in the patch notes at all. I'd recommend a separate Cartel Market Notes section for announcing changes that aren't actually part of the patch. I'm not asking that *all* sales, etc., be announced in a market notes section (I understand offering "unadvertised sales" as a way of motivating players to take a minute to look at the market's front page), but unless it's a feature (like the ability to buy coins in-game) that actually has a game functionality impact, or a bug fix for a Cartel Market item (Regal Apparrel clipping anybody), separate "notes" sections should make it clear what is intended to be a permanent change to the gaming environment and what isn't.
  2. Actually, my current main is a conc op, and my other main (which I stopped playing when I took a break from the game last Nov) is a combat medic I do have a low-level sage alt, but that's not why I was offended by BW's behavior wrt the sorc class questions. Tbh, I was hoping the Jugg & Scoundrel reps would refuse to participate until the sorc issue was fully resolved.
  3. Personally, I don't think it will ever get old -- technically, I think it can't get old until BW actually gives the sorc questions proper answers, which is effectively the same thing.
  4. op-55 main, never played wow, and I would really like a Stealth Bar....but what I would really like is a Stealth Modifier (preferably bindable, I'd use Shift), because when I'm Stealthed, I really want the stealth functions close to be close to my left hand, but when I'm not stealthed, I'd rather have other functions in those locations. And, lol, I tried the "obvious" method -- bind move forward as both 'W' and 'Shift+W', and then bind stealth functions as Shift+key, but swtor chokes on that -- if I'm moving normally (W) and enter stealth, everything works fine, but if I depress Shift, I stop and then very slowly take small, jerky steps forward. What I expect (want) to happen is that I continue moving normally, but (now that I have the shift key depressed), I would be able to executr the stealth commands I bound to Shift+key combos. I've seen other people report this problem, but no solution. I use a desktop pc with regular keyboard and regular wheel mouse (left/right/wheel), no special gaming devices.
  5. I hate to burst your bubble, but.... 1) -Players can now use Shift + Left Click with the cursor in the search box of the GTN to add the name of the item. Not sure how useful this will be, due to limited and awkward copy+paste mechanisms in game, but shouldn't be a performance issue, and since it could be done usefully, I'll wait and see. 2) -Added a sortable "Unit Price" column to the GTN Window, which will display the listed item's price-per-unit. PPU is already calculated for tooltips, depending on current implementation, this could have basically no additional performance overhead, or (if done well) very little. Not having to sort by price and mouse over a bunch of entries to find best PPU price points will save me a lot of time, and I'm not a heavy user, so this is an instant winner. -The GTN now auto completes with the price and duration of a player's last posted auction. In addition, the last price will be remembered on a per-unit basis. i.e. If a player puts 1 med pack up for 10 credits, and their next auction is a stack of 20 med packs (the same type as before) it will auto complete 200 credits (10 credits for 1 x 20 = 200). The remembered price and duration are reset upon area transition or log out. Huh? I can't imagine this being remotely useful for any but a handful of users, and (as described) this isn't an opt-in feature and there is no mention of how long the history is maintained or maximum number of "most recent" entries, which means that this feature will simply accumulate storage which would be *much* better spent on IGM retention and increasing the # of quests one can have (and, which would be *MUCH* better, retaining conversation choices from quests to allow replay, but that's a separate issue). Seriously, there is no way this features benefits can outweigh the performance/storage negatives, I am stunned that something (as described) would even be considered, much less approved for development. That said, remembering history for a fixed time (say, one month), limiting the number of items in the history, and only remembering prices that differed from the GTN default at the time the item was offered for sale could dramatically reduce the system resources (storage space and CPU time). But given the amount of times when the feature would be useful, the prorgamming time + overhead + maintenance doesn't justify the feature, especially for a game with an engine that the developers themselves state cannot support the most wanted features.
  6. Not trying to Necro this thread, but it was that or post a new one on the same topic... The text of Flash Bang reads, "Detonates a flash bang that blinds up to 5 targets within 5 meters for 8 seconds. Damage causes this effect to end prematurely." Q1: How are "targets" determined in each of these two cases: a) there are five or less mobs in the aoe and b) there are more than five mobs in the aoe? Q2: If a mob (such as a boss) in the aoe would be immune to the effect, is it not treated as a possible target, or is it treated as a target (but then not affected)? Next, consider Flash Powder, "Reduces all targets' accuracy by [10/20]% for 8 seconds after Flash Bang ends." Q3: If an immune mob (such as a Boss) is in the aoe, and is considered a target, does Flash Powder reduce that mob's (Boss's) accuracy regardless of whether or not the mob (Boss) was actually affected? The wording indicates that simply being a target would trigger the effect, whether or not Flash Bang itself was useful. I'm playing a Concealment Op (lvl 55), and would be interested in taking Flash Powder if I could actually reduce the accuracy of Hard FP and Op Bosses. (I'm just looking at ways to improve my usefulness in raiding)
  7. I really like my Concealment Op, but it is pretty lame that we're stuck with Blaster Rifles but get Blaster Pistols in cut scenes and our "customizable" weapon is mainly a stat stick...would be nice if BW put in custom animations for various vibroknives. Very few (zero that I've found so far) Blaster Rifles look cool & don't clip trenchcoats.
  8. I don't think that Reputation Gear is substantially uglier than Cartel Gear, Social Gear, Elder Gear, or "regular orange" Gear. I think that (currently) there are fewer Reputation sets than Cartel or Regular, so it would be "easier" for somebody to dislike them all (just like it's "easier" to dislike all Elder Gear sets), but assuming BW continues to expand Rep vendors and Elder gear sets (which it appears to be doing -- we just got Czerka and BBA Rep gear this month, along with a new Cartel Rep vendor, and there's new PVP and PVE sets coming soon). I personally think that the vast majority of all gear is horrible, but that there are enough decent pieces in the various sets that with dyeing and Unify Colors, people can make decent outfits that fit their characters. TBH, it's probably better to have people mixing and matching and creating more personal looks instead of just wearing full sets, but it would be nice if it was something people wanted to do instead of were forced to do just to have a toon they didn't want to puke on.
  9. The arnors are also tied to the slot...when you pull out the armor, it will actually say "chest" (or whatever) and can only back into armor for that slor. Mods and enhancements are not tied to the slot from which they come.
  10. If you're going to take the vote away from the kickee under the presumption that the kickee would always vote 'no', you should take away the vote from the kicker under the presumption that the kicker would always vote 'yes'. That leaves two people, and should require both to say 'yes' to kick. Or, if it's 2-2, split the groups and drop them both back into queue (with each group keeping the progress state). The one way the system should not be implemented is the way it is now -- fastest clicker (first to initiate kick) gets the advantage.
  11. How about this: Achieve Level 50 with a Legacy -- Get 8 more character slots you can attach to a new Legacy [name] on the same server.

  13. For those concerned about name changes, here's a little something from Futurama Fry: Not sure if lucky all my toons kept their names on transfer... ...or if all my toons' names suck.
  14. Mako singing "I Sit On Acid" by the Lords of Acid?
  15. I don't think I realized how bad/lacking/missing the background music/sound in this game is until the first time I rode a speeder -- jacked on a Nar-Shadda street corner while I was not yet licensed -- and I didn't get dropped into a random radio station a-la GTA [pref. Vice City]. So I you-tubed it on my alt computer: o Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue (could be the Nar-Shadda them song) o Falco - Rock Me, Amadeus (sounds close enough to Rock Me, I'm a Duros) o Adam Jensen (Deus Ex 3) doing the Safety Dance The only thing missing was getting to bribe somebody and then beat them up later to get my cash back.
  16. Not sure if not funny... ...or nobody wants to click links Anyway, it's Futurama Fry: Not sure if lucky all my toons kept their names on transfer... ...or if all my toons' names suck. Anyway, thought it would be an amusing break from all the other name transfer QQ/posts.

  18. Thank you for clarifying that...currently I am Lvl 46 Powertech -- 31 Shield / 2 /2 (and two more points I don't remember where), so yeah, IGC Tank. With the apparent joy of it looking like I'll hit 50 with 1.3 and hope I don't have to respec. But at least I won't have bought any armor if I do [i've got almost two separate specs of Recruit already thanks to Outlaw's Den, and I'm saving Comms for BM Main weapon and non-set pieces until I'm sure what I want to live with for a while). So, basically, it's *ok* for me to keep with Shield (the item, not the spec) for now, but seriously think about Generator for PVP and Shield for PVE (because there will be a better distribution of damage that can trigger my shield). FYI, I'm PVP server, but I do like to PVE for the story (i.e., the one-time missions), not sure if I can handle grinding PVE.
  19. Why? [serious question, I'm still relatively new to PvP).
  20. I had hopes for TOR when I got to Nar Shadda...
  21. And the Europeans would *still* complain that the U.S. got it first...
  22. My main is a "hybrid" op -- http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401bcf0zZuIMMddobMMZ0M.1 Just what I put together for fun during PVE, and it is pretty versatile for 10-49 PVP, but I've been trying to look up actual 50 builds. My main problem is that I want Kolto Probe (requires Medicine 11), so I can't get Acid Blade. I'd say I'm 90% stabby, but a decent % of the time there aren't many healers on my team, so I'll actually sit back and heal -- even with only 11 points, if there aren't any "full" healers around, I can often be more useful as support (and if it;s Hutball, I'll heal our ball carrier even if I die). My big questions are, assuming I want to be stabby with a healing back up, am I close to doing it right, and should I go medic (higher Endurance than Cunning) or the other way for gear? Thanks again for your time.
  23. Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I know I got in "late", but to be honest PVE (Kotor 3) was the big draw for me, until my main so overleveled doing all the quests on each planet before moving on that I realized I was almost level 40 and still in Chapter 1. I still like the PVE, and have a few alts, but got sick of <stealth> walk around and solo everything, except maybe bosses for 5 XP and no real chance of dying [My level 49 is an OP]. Fortunately, I knew I'd end up in PvP once the content was done, so all but one of my chars is on a PvP server, it just came up faster than I expected. [And when server transfers come, that one is going to a PVP server.] Anyway, I'm getting to play 2-3 chars for an hour or two each on most nights, so I'm just rotating: o Pick up Daily and Queue o Try to sell stuff at the GTN o Go to Buccaneer's Den (sorry, played too much Ultima) and farm until I get at least 1 piece of Recruit gear o Spend some time on Class quests o Go back to Fleet after I get my 2 WZ points and pick up my "prize" I usually do this at Prime Time, so I can *usually* get 3-4 WZ in a few hours (sad, but unfortunately not the worse story I've heard). I'm bought as much Level 40 gear for companions as I could, now I'm buying the level 44 grab bag (120 comms -- bag has 60 comms worth of consumables, plus an item I can occasionally use for a companion or just sell for cash) to keep at 2000 WZ comms. My 49 won't hit Valor 40 before level 50, so it looks like recruit gear + 1-2 pieces of BM gear. My 46 has a good chance of valor 40, so I'm hoping to max out the 3000 RWZ comms as well. My other 3 chars are low enough level that they should hit 40 at valor 40. Thankfully, I like most of the oranges I have on my chars (since apparently the lower level, the less I look like a member of GWAR), so it looks like buy Augment Kits and switch out BM/WH mods when I get them. Anyway, thanks again for the feedback.
