I just finished this yesterday as a 44 madness sorc. I tried with Khem and got beat down bad. I used Talos, and faired better, but still got beat. Ashara finally saved my butt. I grabbed agro and healed myself and dotted. What finally got me through it, I think, was as someone stated earlier, don't try to interupt everything. You have to pick and choose. That stupid chain light was the one that was getting me. Everything else can be dodged or healed through.

^^^ This. Dark Jedi Knight fits. I play mine as the guy that does things that have to be done, but the goodie goodie Jedi don't have the stomach for. Most of the dark side choices that you have fit very nicely with that. I tried to play a dark consular. That character has been retired to the mental health ward. The choices they give you are horrible to the point I actually started feeling sorry for the guy that wrote that story line. And if you do, by chance, see something that looks like what a sane person would say on the wheel, get ready because that's nowhere near what's about to come out of his mouth.

That's good to know. Happened on my JK with Kira, too. Don't understand why they're all goody goody and then like that, but hey, I'm not camplaining about that much free affection. It gets expensive buying love.

I spent almost all of a game yesterday slowing / stunning the people going after our carrier on a 5-0 win, and my stats and rewards at the end were pretty horrible.

It bugs me. Attempting to use ability_x when it's on cooldown should do nothing, instead of putting 2 huge lines of red text in the middle of the screen.

I think alot of the issues people have with the game is becuase of assumption. I can't say they're wrong becuase I assumed the same things, and I based those assumptions on MMO's up till this point. I assumed that in space combat, I could steer my ship. I assumed that the zones would feel more open than forced paths. No one ever told me to expect those things, I just did. My bad. That said, I'm having fun and think this is at least better than any other game out right now. BW will get my cash till I get through all eight story lines.

So I finished a planet, and the equipment and modifications vendors had absolutely nothing I wanted, or needed. I bought lockboxes with my commendations. I then find out, there’s a special items vendor that has something that I REALLY want. How would you go about farming 14 commendations on a planet that’s grey to you, assuming there’s no quests left?

Just my personal opinion..... I have a hard time finding it alright to slap someones wrist for doing something on the grounds that "it wasn't intended". If a game mechanic isn't working as intended, then change it so that it works like you intend it. Using the skill tape example above. SOE put the loot drops on that mob, in that cave. You killed it and got the loot. Just like people camped rooms in Everquest, killing the same mob over and over for loot. I don't see the issue. BW put a chest that anyone could open, in an area that anyone could get to, on a fairly quick respawn, and decided to flag peoples accounts for "exploiting" when they looted it? Doesn't sound right to me. Now, with that said.... If you were (assuming innocence) off doing something else and comming back to the computer every few minutes, with no chat and no moving around for hours, I can completely see where that would look like a third party macro program. If that's the case, they probably sent out the warning becuase they couldn't prove or disprove a macro program, but that's what they could do to flag it. Edit - spelling

I like the way they did the quest lines. It's like I'm watching a little movie made from one of those old choose your own adventure books. There's a couple things that I'm indifferent on right now. I don't know if they're good, or bad, but they're new to me and I'm trying to wrap my head around it. Verdict is still out on the lack of auto attack and the crafting system. edit - used the words I meant to =P

This reminds me so much of the arguments about avoidance tanking on monkly-business. "You can't tank in pajamas..." "But they're magic pajamas!" Not saying it would fit here, but I liked the wardrobe system in Rift.

An improved LFG search tool wouldn't be a bad idea, if implimented right. Most of the stuff I've seen people disagree with is a system where it will form a party for you. Give people something where they can easily see who's available, and let that be it. My issue with it is that a "dungeon finder" is a gateway drug. A soon as someone waits 30 minutes, for whatever reason, they'll be crying "we need cross server, I can't even get a group with the automated thing". Cross server anything destroys community, as well as all social graces. The only thing I dislike more than being in a group with a *****, is being in a group with a ***** who knows he can't be blacklisted for his behavior.

So I'm trying to get some bonus points with Mako, because I don't always make good quest choices. I have underworld trading, so I send her off on some missions to get some gifts I can give her (sounds wierd). She only ever comes back with types of stuff that she likes or is indifferent to. Never anything that is listed as favorite or loves. So here's my questions. Are there certian mission skills that return different types of crew gifts? Do the individual missions have certain gifts as rewards? Is there some mechanic in place where a companion won't return their own favorite? Am i just having a run of bad luck? Or is my companion keeping the good stuff for herself?

+1 on turning off shadows. Night and day difference for me.
