Think I got a 10,5,2 and 1 minute warning. Not exactly great notice but thankfully I was just finishing up a quest series when I got the first one so didn't affect me. Sucks for people who were in the middle of something big though.

Wow complaining about people complaining Seriously though, the whole point of a forum is for people to discuss the game, and this includes aspects of the game which are flawed. As for the game being compared to other MMO's. Well, a lot of the people who play this game play it as their only MMO, and they will have moved from another to play SWTOR. So if it's not as good, then they may well leave. It does address aspects which need improving. I really like the game. However, at the moment I can't see it being up there with the games I've played for long periods of time (1 year+). I am fully expectant that the game will improve with additional content, especially for me, on the PVP front. If it doesn't then no doubt I will end up leaving.

Does that mean I'm not allowed to have an opinion on how much the system of a universal maintenance window sucks? Especially when you have specific EU and US servers, and soon to be Oceanic servers. If you want to talk about it rationally feel free, however you're just coming across as a Bioware Fanboi who thinks other people are not entitled to an opinion.

O'rly? That's probably because it's at an inconsequential time to 99% of US players. Although I see your post didn't acknowledge an existence of a world outside the US.

I think West coasters should be damn grateful it's during the night. I've complained often about this, as an EU player who works shifts and so the main time I would play is during the day, generally week days as well. But for the Oceanic guys it's even worse, with the impending release in that timezone. I can't imagine (well actually I can) that Bioware would be so lazy as to not implement separate downtimes for North American, EU and Oceanic servers, once they are live.

I don't know, When I played Rift, and DDO, I definitely felt that my characters had a strong personality. In SWTOR, for some reason, I don't feel that quite so much. Maybe it's due to the PVP grind, maybe due to the fact I'm always trying to max my dark side points regardless of the option I would choose. I know other MMORPGs don't have this kind of RP, but it seems to have taken away from creating an image in my own mind of how my character would act and sound. Kinda like when they make a movie out of a book and butcher your favourite character. Maybe it's also partly that I've respecced about 5 times so my characters role has changed.

As an EU player who plays primarily in the morning EU times, I agree! However it really won't surprise me when the Bioware Fanboi's tell the Oceanic players to 'suck it up' and Bioware stay quiet on the whole matter.

Wow, what a compelling case peaceandpassion, you wouldn't think they were trying to run a customer orientated business would you? I very much doubt that is their attitude. Can you imagine people having to work nights? What a horrific existence that would be?

Why are you on here if you can't contribute properly? Why is it during the day instead of overnight on EU servers, say 2am-6am? There is no good reason.

Why do you guys have such a problem with the idea that EU server maintenance should be done at EU nighttime? Why is this such a problem?

Ah the old get a job line. Morons who I can only assume are posting from work, nice job you got there, real professional, who don't realise that a large number of people work shift patterns. Why on earth is there even need for another downtime after today? It is very very poor service.

4 action bars doesn't seem very many, although to be fair I only fill 3 1/2. I remember when I used to play DDO, my Wizard had 10 action bars, all filled!

Me, my father and my brother all decided to play this game, we said which side, none of us really minded, and one said, let's go evil. So we did. Bit of a non-decision, am considering switching to republic.

Hmmmm, I don't know what to say, I didn't find that problem at all. Maybe try using a different companion? Including making sure their gear is up to date? The alternate is to *shudder* grind killable mobs, like we used to back in the old days of MMO's!

What I would love to see in the future is a major upgrade to Ilum, I'm talking DAoC style PVP, with proper assault-able and defendable fortresses, with NPCs (Mobs) if that fits and loot to be gained from a successful invasion. (BTW I'm not a DAoC fanboi, barely even played it, but the DAoC high end PvP looked great). And if on top of that, there was a space element to it as well, that would be simply fantastic, Star Destroyers, Republic Cruisers, which can respawn after a certain period of time, defending a major installation or something along those lines.

Absolutely, those people who are on a day off, or start work later on today, need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask themselves if they're really happy with their lifestyle choice. Someone who is at work but chooses to spend their working time on the SWTOR forum is a much bigger asset to society and should, quite frankly, be given a giant freaking medal.

Newsflash: There are EU and US servers. What's wrong with different downtimes? Oh someone might get a patch a few hours before someone else! That's an excuse no-one will buy, because no-one cares that much about getting a patch a few hours later.
