  1. That was, indeed, my first impression. So much seems to have been dumbed down. I sincerely hope my first impression was too pessimistic and I will come to enjoy version 4.0 as much as I did the game before this patch. I'm trying to keep an open mind.
  2. Yes, it would be very useful if they made it possible. Though it would also be nice if there was a way to opt out, because you know there will be at least a few people who don't want it.
  3. That was my main reason for buying the Cathar unlock, too, so I'm very glad to hear that that investment paid off. I'm sure other people have already weighed in one what they would like the third species unlock to be, but I'll go ahead and cast my vote for Rodian.
  4. Yes, it's frustrating that people skin the intro and final conversations, which would give more social points. Also bonus objections on planets give social points if completed while grouped, but for some reason bonus objectives in flashpoints give experience points but not social points. I wish that weren't the case. It would be nice if the developers would add some ways for people to earn more social points, especially at the upper levels, but I don't think they see it as a priority, so I guess we're going to be stuck with running the Esseles/Black Talon for the foreseeable future.
  5. You're confusing social runs with speed runs, which is understandable since the two overlap. A speed run is a run through a flashpoint in which (as the name suggests) speed is the goal. And part of obtaining that speed is, of course, spacebaring through conversations. A social run is a run where the goal isn't experience points or gear. Social runs are usually speed runs, but it's possible to have one that isn't.
  6. Many posts in this thread are saying basically the same thing, that Jorgan "deserves" the promotion to offset his earlier demotion, or because he once outranked the PC, or because he's been in the service longer than Dorne. In my opinion, none of those facts matter. The promotion isn't a reward for hard work or good service, nor is it a present to be given to the one you like better or are trying to romance. It's a job, a vitally important job, and you assign it to the person who will perform better at that job. Dorne is clearly more professional, and she isn't ruled by her ego or by personal vendettas. She does what she thinks is best for the squad, not what promotes her personal agenda. She may do things too much "by the book" --- certainly some people think so --- but she also knows how to USE the rules to get what she wants without simply breaking them. That's a skill Jorgan lacks. If you really think Jorgan makes the better CO, then promote him. But if you give it to him because he "deserves" it, then I think you're making a mistake.
  7. So long as it's an option you can turn off, it can stay as long as it likes. Forcing the player to listen to an insipid giggle in every single combat makes the class unplayable for many of us.
  8. In the "Republic Embassy" in Anchorhead, Tattooine, after you kill the Czerka toughs threatening Camus, and Fauler walks in and sees the dead guys: "Come on, you know how I feel about corpses in my work space."
  9. Any Imperial character can say it, but the best one is in the female inquisitor's voice. At the Unfinished Colossus on Dromund Kaas: "Buy cheap slaves and get a rebellion. Everyone knows that."
  10. Thanks for the update. In the meantime, is there any other website out there that does the same thing. TOR-Fashion.com was the only website I've found (so far) that has a browsable database of outfits like this.
  11. All my characters are female. I have a body type 4 knight and I roleplay her as insecure about her looks (she asks friends "Does this robe make my butt look big?"), but it works because body type 4 female (unlike male 4) is more about being naturally curvy than being out of shape. My only type 2 females are an imperial agent because I figure looking sexy is a job requirement for a secret agent., and an inquisitor who started out as a slave (so again, being unusually good-looking is part of her backstory). My smuggler is body type 1 because (in my mind) a skinny body goes well with the sassy/sarcastic attitude. My sith warrior is body type 3 because she's supposed to have been hand-picked as the best of the best, which (to me) means a super-athletic body. Right now I'm trying to roll a consular and I can't decide between type 1 and type 2. My only real complain is that head size doesn't always match the body. On type 1 bodies the head seems way to big, and on type 4 bodies the head seems too small.
  12. Vette's voice is not nearly as annoying as Ashara's.
  13. What about gifts? If I give gifts to a "guest," will I get to keep the affection gains?
  14. If you give gifts to a companion while they're a guest, do you get to keep the affection gains when they become regular companions?
