Well, gee Steve, maybe when they added names to the unavailable list they also changed the error text associated with them. I've done what the OP describes numerous times and the name releases instantaneously. I've also tried to use names that were previously available (because they were being held by myself) and suddenly were "unavailable" after the name policy change. I was simply asking him how old the name was because used names were not grandfathered into the policy. I know from my own experience.

Who cares what companions other people use? They're not playing your game and you're not playing theirs. What other people choose is irrelevant. What a ridiculous reason for choosing one.

How old was the original name? You may have been able to use that name before they updated their name policy a few years ago. And now when you try to use it, it results in 'Name Unavailable".

You're almost comical at this point. It's not a rationalization. You paid for the promise of promotional content, as you say, and got said promotional content. So did I. Your argument boils down to you unrealistically expecting exclusivity because you saw what you wanted to see when you read the terms. But instead of arguing for exclusivity (which would be fine as others have done so without throwing a tantrum) you want to argue bait and switch which it's not. You want to argue about people "handwringing" yet the people you're arguing with already have the content just like you. You want to argue about BW catering to "mah soshul justus" which isn't even on the radar. It's all excuses for your misguided expectations and hurt feelings that you won't be special anymore. It's not in good faith and it's disingenuous.

15m to be safe. All their abilities have a 30m range. If you're both within that you're fine, but outside of that they won't trigger. You also have to take into account the lag of them catching up. If you're within 30m and you initiate combat, but they are still running to catch up to you beyond their abilities' 30m range, they will just finish catching up to you and stand next to you.

That's not bait and switch. Bait and switch is if they offered a chapter and gave us a PvP map instead. You did get what you paid for. You paid for a chapter and got a chapter. (Technically, you paid for a subscription and got a subscription.) You did not pay for exclusive rights.

Right. This is pretty much what I was trying to say. They're hanging their hat on arguing over the language used in the promotion terms when BW wrote it that way purposely. It's not convincing because of how obvious the legal speak of the terms is so it comes off as disingenuous at best and petty at worst.

Semantics won't convince BW of anything. BW can point to their EULA and use the exact same semantics argument against them. BW uses legal speak in their promotions for a reason. It's a non-factor.
