Sents starts to shine at the 30-35 level due to skills and abilites. I am no expert but based on experience, all skill tree builds for Sent/Mara can kill 1v1. All depends on playstyle. The Sweep spec is not spamming 1 key btw. It just relies on efficient use of smash and sweep. If you are expecting CCs, then sents have Awe and stasis, although statis doesn't really count as it is channeled Combat sent have roots which allows you to lock down opponents using crippling throw and master strike. Continue with leg slash and you can mow down an opponent. Watchman deals with dots so you apply and watch em burn. Force leap does not have a minimum distance with watchman so you can leap to any target in range. My advise is to just don't give up on the first levels and wait till the 30s

If you have taken time to read the replies, they mentioned fleet. Also if you have taken time to check strongholds information from a lot of sources, you wouldn't have wasted time going around. The stronghold kiosk is on the promenade as well so if you had taken time to really check around, you would have seen it.

The boss mechanic is that when the two shield add comes, you will need to use the bombardments to drop their shields. However, one of the shield add does not loss the shield. Before patch, the bugged shield add can be killed by simply mowing him through his own shield. However, after he is down the shield effect coming from him going to Travik does not dissipate making him immune to damage and render the fight uncompletable. After patch, the shield is still bugged where the shield is still not dropping when he is hit by the bombardment. The difference now is that the shield effect is dropping once the add dies. The shield add can be mowed down through his own shield, and Travik can now be killed. The fight is still considered bugged and glitched as the mechanic for the shield is still not working properly.

Crit rating does not really increase your damage output. It just increases your chance for an increased damage. It depends on your class. If you are a DPS class, go for crit. If you are a tank, then go for endurance.

I have been using a Sentinel since game launch leveled it up to 50 in one month, combat specced. When it reached 50, I created a new character, gunslinger, leveled it up to 50 in one month too, Sharpshooter. Ever since then, been juggling between the two everyday. I finish the dailies and weeklies of both. I also tried all three skill trees of both characters. Currently my sentinel is on watchman. Observation regarding DPS, if you are using the DOT spec (Watchman, Saboteur, Dirty Fighting) you will be dealing continous constant damage to your target which will really increase damage per second. Combat, Focus, and Sharpshooter are a kind of one shot, big shot damage producer. Gameplay wise, you build up first then unleash in one blow. Sentinels and Gunslingers both are good DPS classes, it just depends on your gameplay. Up close and personal or deadly from afar. I have seen a gunslinger deal a total damage of 700k in one voidstar match, the same with a sentinel on a novare coast warzone.

PVP or PVE, just buy Recruit gear... Shell out that 280k credits... Recruit gear for fresh 50s with net you a good amount of stats and HP. Yes, it is for PVP... but it is the fastest 50 gear to be acquired as you only need credits. You will arrive at around 14k HP if you are on full recruit gear.

Sorry, I don't know what kind of applications your company does. Anyway, I doubt that, because if you are making the perfect applications then you will not be on a medium size company. You'll already be working with google or facebook. Have you applications had patches recently? On every software or application out there, I never had an experience where the patching was perfect. You know, changing one thing in the game or any other software out there (basically patching) ALWAYS has a totally unexpected effect on another, (seemingly) unrelated part of the game/software. And yes, the game was tested before launching to a million servers. PTS server, a thousand different testers...
