  1. GW2 is a solid mmo but what turned me off about it was that after a certain point you just have to grind so you can progress further in the story, and I don't mean 1 or 2 levels, over 10+ levels the last I remember. It just got boring, however, it's been a while since I've played so that may have changed since then.
  2. Bounty hunter response to jedi mind trick: *looks around* "How often does this work?"
  3. I've had my eye on Pantheon for a while and I'll be playing that when it launches. Until then I'll continue to play SWTOR with occasional breaks to return to The Secret World and Everquest 2.
  4. It's weird for me because I just get the lag when I use the holoterminal. The animation lags behind the voice dialogue which worked fine before the patch.
  5. My best memory was my intro to the world of MMOs. This was back in 2002 and it started out when I went to the mall with my old room mate. He hung out at the Wizards of the Coast and played Everquest while I wandered around Gamestop looking for new Dreamcast games to buy. After I finished my shopping I decided to see what this Everquest game was all about...plus he was my ride back home so I had to wait for him. At first it seemed boring. All I saw was his character running around and occasionally flailing her arms around as she cast spells (I later learned that he was playing a barbarian shaman). He said, "Dude, this game is awesome! You can go anywhere and do anything!" He later talked about how his character can tank, heal, and dps, which all went over my head at that time. After a couple hours I decided to make my own account and give it a try. I made an iksar monk which isn't the most ideal race/class combo for new players. For those of you that don't know, iksars are the most hated race in the game and are killed on sight by any other race and, at that time, the monk class had a weight mechanic where the more weight you carried the more your defenses were negatively affected. You have to be light on your feet to dodge attacks. As a new player I didn't know any of that since there wasn't any tutorials to explain every little detail. So anyway I died a lot but had great time interacting with other players and navigating my way around without a map. I later saved up and bought my own PC plus a copy of the game along with a Prima's Official Strategy Guide to Everquest. That was my entry point to MMOs and my best memory of gaming.
  6. I'm in and what worked for me is persistence. Just keep manually exiting the launcher: ctrl + alt + delete - task manager - Processes tab - End Process for any launchers associated with swtor - relaunch and repeat until all files are downloaded. Took me 3 tries including 1 repair scan.
  7. You can even use the mouse scroll for keybinding too, for example alt + mouse wheel down or ctrl + mouse wheel up.
  8. Tanking isn't really my thing, I couldn't get into it but I do enjoy healing and some of my best memories in mmos were keeping my group alive when the sh*t hit the fan in both PvE and PvP. To me, healing is easy as long as you have a competent group...sometimes it gets too easy and can be boring at times.
  9. I'm guessing that the OP must have done something to piss off his entire server. He's not playing a healer so he must be an easy kill, a PvP god that needs to be shut down, or just someone that is hated. Players don't get repeatedly focused for no reason.
  10. I think the OP has figured out by now which DPS class to play since this was posted on May of 2015 but to add my 2 cents I prefer the sniper/gunslinger. I enjoy taking enemies down before they have a chance to reach me.
  11. Bounty hunter Head: Stalker's Helmet Chest: Underwater Adventurer Rebreather Hands: Contractor's Gloves Waist: Outlander Guerilla's Belt Legs: Revanite Pursuer's Greaves Feet: Republic Home Cleats Weapon: Commander's Heavy Blaster x 2
  12. Cartel skiff for 350000, I'm sure that person meant to put an extra 0 in there. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
  13. I've played on and off since launch. I'll play for a few months then take a break to play something else but I always come back to SWTOR.
  14. OP, every mmo has its trolls, think of them as volunteers that want to be added to your ignore list and don't let them get to you.
