If they were called "playing through the story and participating in dialog choices with other player character in group, points" we would not have this issue. you dont get points for just grouping. you dont get points for pvping you dont get points for raiding the same FP over and over (or shouldnt if you ask me) you dont get points for "socaiising" in general chat you dont get points for being in a guild you dont get points just because "all my other stats are maxxed why not this one?" YOU DO GET POINTS for playing the game (not endgame and non story content) with other people. most people in raids might as well be bots. no personalities no socializing, just group, loot, disband. I have been waiting for YEARS to be able to have a legit single player experiance with story, VO and choices that could be fully experienced by me and my friends together. and here it is. I have no interest in grindingor pvping really. So valor dont matter to me. I do like the way social points work now. If the guy who was 50 two days after launch has the same amount of social points as me, the guy who plays exclusively with friends and does all story, then it would indeed be broken and/or pointless

I understand the frustration of others who dont have friends to level with, but im sorry. warzones and flashpoints are not really social. At least not in the same way the points are intended. Points are for story progression in groups, not pvp'ing... who is actually "social" in a warzone anyways... I certainly dont have time to talk. flashpoints are the same. I might socialize an "attack left" or "hold x guy" but thats not really the "social" that the points are are meant for. Bottom line: You only get points for progressing story and leveling in groups. Period. Its working as intended. *I also like the but above about "doing a little extra" I mean its not quick efficient or easy going through the whole game with 2 other people at all times. Thus I feel I have earned these (fluff) points. Its takes more then just queing for, and existing in, a warzone.

Social points are not required for anything but social clothing. Also all social clothing is light armor. so when I put Vette into the slave girl outfit she is gimped on armor class to a degree and you can never make it as good as an equivalent level med or heavy armor. That right there makes social clothes just about worthless except for gimped stat aesthetics. So don't cry about having max every skill but social. Its just a fluff stat anyways.

You sound like you have some sort of max my stats OCD... Your just looking at it all wrong. Its not really like crew skills or even valor really where you have to "GRIND" to get it. I get all my social points because I play the game with 1 to 2 people grouped for all missions in story and we are leveling together. So naturally im getting social points for every dialog choice in the game. So while you are Max level 50, with you 400 crews and stupid high valor... im still enjoying the story and leveling at a slower pace with friends and getting social points (that don't even really do anything) I dont expect to max every stat in the game. I would rather have stats be harder to attain so everybody isn't all just "max level all skills" at 50.

Im leveling with a group of 3 (me and 2 friends) for my Sith warrior character. We do every mission and dialog together. We are almost at lv 4 on social points and i am level 27.... my other character i level with 1 friend and have just turned lv 4 social at level 36 as the people above stated. Social points are for social people. They are not hard to get if you level with others. for those of you who do not have socail points, you arent missing out on much except the joy of being able to dress your favorite female companion up in a skimpy slave girl outfit. (well thats all i use it for at least)

How would you know what a team player is, they are only there to take advantage of from your perpective. Someone who will let you get away with all of your **** and not say anything or boot you? I dont whine in game, I comment here where it belongs.

I will not admit that. I run flashpoints under my level if people ask just to heal and advance others while I pass on every item that comes up. I will only admit to feeling like the decent guy minority.

only "need" on items that you (the player character) can use. Do not need for companions unless EVERYBODY IN PARTY AGREES ON THAT FIRST. Or you will be seeing grief. Other then that. stick with the group and use good tactics. No freelance aggroing or charging into battle without others being ready. Have fun. My main is same level. Maybe see ya around

I only feel that way because my playstyle helps his game. And his playstyle ruins it for groups.. we all pay money for a "massivly multiplayer game" im not telling him not to mod or use cheats in his single player game. ruin it to your hearts desire. But mess with my game (and dont show remorse or understanding) then we have a problem

they dont though they just run lines into the ground some random distances away. I thought the were supposed to "connect" too but see my other links to see lines going into the air, wall, ground etc...

It doesnt have to be that way. I would see you all banned and blacklisted. Community and grouping is important

you know, its not about losing a roll to a guy on one instance at all. Its about changing the mentality of some people because I feel the are using the loot system incorrectly or not as intended. (i know its a losing battle to change internet anons minds but...) The reason why i think alot of you companion loot ninjas dont see the problem is because well, you get everything. you never have to feel like your missing anything because you "need" all our ****. You have never had to experience going through a flashpoint healing all the team to get your medic bracers ganked by some dude companion resting on his ship. Treat others as you want to be treated. Companion loot ninjaing IS aproblem that needs adressing. I am a person in a greater MMO community NOT and NPC in your personal single player game.

I play healers and support characters almost exclusively and I always put fellow players above NPC's. It really is sad that more people (on the forums at least) dont see it like that. I blame internet anonimity and bad upbringing.

you said that so matter-of-factly and without remorse that this HAS to be sacarsm. It would appear that there are those out that that actually have this mentality though. Good news for them is they keep it up then all they will ever have to worry about is theier "solo game play" cause they aint finding groups on my server.

I have no FPS problems anywhere worth noting so cant really talk about that but.... how does this make sense at all. Im just gonna chalk this up as coincidence or your imagination.

people not thinking they are balanced and people thinking they are all worthless are two different issues. Balance first. change the nature of all crafting skills later or not at all.

I play 2 character with a group at all times so those char have social 3-5 easily. I got vette running around in modded slave outfit. Other then that. No real point. you dont get titles for social points right?
