  1. lol I did the same thing. I also put the shock collar on him from the belsavis social item vendor.... He went from 'mildly annoying' to 'I would pay cartel coins to punt him off my ship' when the game essentially started penalizing me for not flirting with him -- in more than one conversation, the only affection gain option is to flirt with him, and the rest were negative affection. Just no. I'd like a bio about Guss Tuno. He is my favorite companion.
  2. I may be the exception, but I did the entire sith warrior storyline solo without using Quinn at all for combat. I did most of Act 1 and 2 with Vette, and most of Act 3 with Pierce. Pierce worked fairly all right but was kind of too fragile for the tougher bosses. I never used Broonmark (I seriously don't know a SW who does, ever) and Jaesa was only rarely used. M1-4X is absolutely hilarious in combat. Seriously, he shouts things like "As always, there is no option but absolute victory!" and "Such is the fate of those who oppose galactic liberty!" and such. He's best for duoing though. The only smuggler companion I never used was Akaavi. Guss is by far my favorite, less because he's a healer and more because he's hilarious. On the sorcerer I never used anyone except Khem Val. Ashaera Zavros would be booted off my ship if I could. She hates everything I give her.
  3. Player A should have said "Mind if I need on that for Mako?" before hitting need. To do so is just common courtesy. Player B should not have ragequit over an item he was probably going to just vendor trash for 40 credits.
  4. This doesn't solve the underlying issue, but it's a temporary stop-gap to those who want their hoods down but don't want to wear a hair-hiding hat. There are a few orange moddable circlets and helmets in-game that will hide hoods while leaving your hair and/or most of your face showing. Republic side: - Heavy: Soverign Mind Headgear (Nar Shadda equipment commendations, level 25) - Medium: Fervent Battle Headgear (Nar Shadda equipment commendations, level 25) - Light: Consular's Headgear (Crafted by synthweaver, level 19. Not wearable by companions) There are also several other synthweaver crafted ones, but these are the earliest you can get as far as I can tell. Empire Side: - Heavy: Reinforced Battle Headgear (Hides hair) - Heavy: Tempered Laminoid Headgear (hides hair) - Medium: RD-03B Coordination Headgear (Nar Shadda Equipment commendations, level 25, hides eyes) - Medium: TD-03B Infiltrator Headgear (Nar Shadda Equipment commendations, level 25, hides eyes) - Medium: Sniper's headgear (Armormech, level 19, hides hair) - Medium: RD-07A Vendetta Headgear (Level 47, semi-rare random drop) - Light: Channeler's Headgear (Crafted by synthweaver, level 27, hides hair) - Light: Traditional Nylite Headgear (Crafted by synthweaver, level 23) Note: there are many hats with this same make but this is the earliest one you can get. Adaptive: - Death's Claw helm (It covers a lot of the face unfortunately, but does show hair) Unfortunately, a lot of the Empire side ones are kind of ugly. This is mitigated somewhat by the fact that a lot of the Imperial armor doesn't have hoods. However, Inquisitors get a lot of hoods, and not much option to hide them. They have lots of circlets but none of them hide hoods. The only decent one I've found for inquisitor is the Traditional Nylite headgear (and its clones) and it looks kind of strange with several of the hairstyles. Would it be possible, if togglable hoods are difficult, to get a simple social hat that hides hoods for everyone? Maybe one that's completely invisible, or is a tiny circlet? Failing that, would it be possible to make some of the social armor hide hoods? Especially the House Ulgo circlet (social III) or the Voss Mystic Circlet (social V) since they're just circlets, or the Belsavis one since it's a slave collar.
  5. Things I would probably buy from the Cartel shop: - Empty Orange Adaptive Gear - Armor Dye - Ship Appearance Changes - Getting rid of a Companion (Seriously) - Single-run flashpoints (IE one run per unlock) - Planet VIP lounges (with a GTN and PvP quest terminal inside) - Extra character slots Things I wouldn't mind seeing in the Cartel shop but probably wouldn't buy: - Speeders - Pets - Extra cargo space - Extra Emotes - Character renaming - Character appearance changer Things that would make me angry to see in the Cartel shop: - Any gear with stats - Stims or medpacks - Leveling/exp boosts - Credits - Gear/skill Unlocks for F2P (seriously, don't do what EQ2 did) - Legacy Unlocks - Content that would normally be part of an expansion or GU One last plea -- Please make the cartel currency TRADEABLE. Let people post it on the GTN, even. This will let the cash-strapped people to get the shiny new speeder. And people *will* buy cartel coins just to sell them. Allowing cartel currency trading won't ruin the economy like buying credits outright would, helps prevent scamming, makes the cash shop more accessible to the masses, and will make the F2P people feel not like outcasts. And since ultimately all the cartel currency will still come from either a subscriber or from someone paying cash, it really doesn't matter that person A bought the cash and sold/gave it to person B.
  6. IMHO, if you didn't like the dance party items you have no light in your soul... But for those few that were unhappy with it... there were ways plenty of ways to prevent abuse that didn't involve just removing it from the game entirely. The items could have been given a casting time, along with a longer cooldown than 5 minutes. Or you could have made the party instigator's radius quite a lot smaller. The party bomb was really hard to get for so its radius could've been left alone. Or if making people dance was really a problem, just the "other people" dancing aspect could have been disabled, leaving the graphic and self-dance intact. Believe me, most of the time people start dancing on their own. Or, we could have gotten a checkbox option in the social tab for "disable spontaneous dancing". Seriously, there were a myriad ways to prevent abuse other than killing the items entirely. The galaxy is a less fun place because these items are gone. Bring them back!
  7. As a IRL girl with a female smuggler, I'm on the Corso Riggs hate-wagon. I hate him enough that I want to strap him to a torpedo and fire him into the nearest sun. Let me explain why, more or less sans spoilers. ----- He was okay on Ord Mantell, although his battle shouts grated on my nerves a bit. Maybe it was the accent, or the stupid harpoon (which I did turn off). Then I saw he failed crew missions a lot more than the droid did. When I got the next couple companions he still consistently did worse than them, despite having high affection. Sometimes I'd get "I think you'll be pleased with the results!" and "Corso Riggs failed the mission and has returned". This lost him a LOT of points with me. I gave him lots of companion gifts, partly to see the storyline and partly to make him suck less at crew skills. As his storyline progressed, I liked him less and less. Not only was he naive and irritatingly idealist despite all the shady things I did for a few credits, he got more and more clingy and whiny. Then the [flirt] option came up. I shot him down. Then the second [flirt] option came up. But when I picked the non-flirt option, it gave me negative affection. I backed out and picked the other non-flirt option, and it gave me negative affection again. So basically, the game was PUNISHING me here for not sleeping with Corso Riggs, a character that I loathed at this point. And immediately after my turning him down, he failed three missions in a row, one of them a purple rare mission. That's when I decided he was never getting another companion gift from me ever. But even without giving him more companion gifts and dropping his storyline, I got docked AGAIN when talking to Akaavi, because I didn't pick the option "Corso has a good heart". I took the affection hit because I was NOT praising him. You just can't get away from it. ---------- Now, if you DO like Corso Riggs, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! However, not all girls are alike either! There is no such thing as one perfect man for all women. And it's very offensive to me that not only Corso the character, but the game itself seems to be pushing me to romance Corso when I-do-not-like-him. It's the "This is your love interest you WILL like him wait why are you picking the non romance options? :(" that I really don't like. I'm not saying get rid of him. On the contrary, lots of people seem to like him, so that would be counter-productive. However, I'd like to see the following: 1) Allow booting a companion off your ship (ANY companion) 2) Give more than one companion romance option for female characters 3) Have replacement companions available for those that want them 4) Don't make [flirt] the only option that gives positive faction I know a lot of the conversations are intricately intertwined and it's probably a huge spiderweb of dialog choices that depend on other dialog choices. But frankly, I'd put up with a little broken dialog in order to get rid of him.
