  1. Just one comment you cant use the Parakeet build at level 42, you must be at least level 48 but preferably 50. Hybrid builds do not really make sense while leveling.

  4. Nice thinking but unfortunately Kolto Vents only means when you use the Vent Heat ability not when you vent heat with other effects.
  5. I like the thinking behind this modified version too, but the loss of jet charge is painfull as the amount of knockbacks you get from raid mobs makes the loss of movement quite significant.
  6. Why does the parakeet have inferior AoE? Maybe FT hits a tiny bit harder but I would say that the AoE is more or less the same and the single target is superior.
  7. You must take the risk with the Parakeet build to proc rail shot or ofc it will be subpar to a faceroll turtle spec. I will always cast IM>RS>RP and two FB assuming I get no reset, after the second I will use Rapids, then FB then rapids, RP when available and RS. If my heat builds up to 70 I use vent heat and repeat but being more careful with heat when I dont have vent heat ready. I also note that my heat stays at almost zero when getting a few rail shot procs in because of the heat venting from it and the shield vent. So it is worth the risk to cast FB more often to try to get as many RS as possible to help control heat and do more dps. Also as I mentioned in the other thread the Parakeet is more versatile and will do better DPS with combustible gas cylinder when your tanking is not required.

Figure out why it decided to do that and run it again. Also a player will intentionally overheat at the start of the fight and use vent heat. TSO will be used on the second IM.
  9. I think you are spending way too much time in Excel and not enough time in the game. The Parakeet is a much more versatile build than a turtle spec and is far better for raiding simply because you do not loose your ability to main tank with the best and gain the option to switch into a higher dps mode by changing cylinders. Some real game observations for you: - IM is only used as an opener, with TSO or when you have very low heat. - Railshot is used every time it is up as it is our highest damaging attack bar non, its cool down resets very often as does RP so I quite often start fights with IM>RS>RP>RS>RP>RS>FB>FB>RS type rotation which is not on the same planet as a turtle rotation of Unload>RS>RP>FT>RP>HB>RS - In groups and raid in particular the target is often already burning from another player thus the tank doesn't need to use IM and is more efficient with heat and dps/threat. Having leveled with a full ST build until 48 I can tell you for a fact that there is no comparison with DPS between the two builds in taking out targets ofc you must have the dexterity to take advantage of a build based on CD resets. I hope BW will very soon implement a combat log so we can get real performance analysis. It is amazing what lenghts players go to try and min/max even without this basic feature.
  10. I think you are wrong, the poster was refering to the fact that the Kolto Vents ability does not regen 7% HP every time you vent heat but only when you use the Vent Heat ability which has a 2min CD. In summary it is not a wolverine build.
  11. 21/2/18 is a better tanking build than 31 max build end of story. As one of the posters before very correctly pointed out, a 10% extra shield chance will not improve your overall defense by very much at all. In the world of tanks the one that can generate a higher amount of threat while staying alive is king. The parakeet will give you significantly more DPS and that is plainly obivious even without a combat log. Rail shot is the most damaging attack we have on single targets followed closely by rocket punch with the parakeet you get off more than double the number of rail shots over the course of a fight sometimes you can fire off 5 or 6 in a row if you get insta resets on FB or RP. I just recently hit 50 so my gear is not great and my rail shot was criting bosses in Black Talon HM for over 2k repeatedly which generated huges amounts of hate for me, I almost never need to use taunts on single targets. I also completed BT hardmode without any problems with less than 13k hp. Nobody else in my group had more than 12k.
  12. The game will fail because of things that acutally have nothing to do with the game itself. The laucher sent me corrupted files during the patching process and crash thus blocking me from playing right as my sub was about to end, doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise I will not be wasting my time trying to get it to work.
  13. I disagree strongly with this assumption. This day and age the vast majority are heavy users of the internet and will go and look at the forums for the virtual world they are paying for. Just look at the number of threads being created it is nearly 1 every 10 seconds. By the time I finish typing this short paragraph the thread will be on page 5.

  15. The best looking armor set I have seen in the game so far is on the Sith Lord on the Tyrant ship, looks so epic and I badly want heavy armor with a hood chest!

  17. All bounty hunters have a 25% damage reduction bubble on a 2min CD. They all also have the Death for above ground target AoE that does good damage on a 1min CD.

  20. Also I gotta say anyone that uses CGC with this build is a muppet, the whole point of the build is to get off more rail shots so losing your shield turns this into a very weak pyro build. DO NOT DO IT, the parakeet is an offtank build capable of tanking most thing while maintaining higher DPS than a tank would normally have. The difference in you survivabilty when using IGC is huge when compared to the small dps benefit you gain from CGC. The only circumstance where you should have CGC running is if you are in pve and are only being required to dps on a certain fight where you will not get hit much.
  21. I didn't read anything but the title of the thread, and I can say with 100% certainty that threat meters are really really dumb. Combat log is absolutley needed and so is a UI enhancement for target's target but definatley no nooby threat meter.
  22. I am sure there is another thread about this but I couldn't find it due to one new thread every 10sec and no reliable search tool. I am finding that especially in PvP it is very hard to target the person I want to quickly enough, contantly I start my rotation on the wrong person because it is so hard to see who I have selected. The actually tab targetting may be working correctly but the red semi-circle around the player is so hard to see that it doesn't matter. The fact that you have to have someone targetted in this game to attack makes this even more of an issue for melees. I vote for a yellow arrow ABOVE the player you are targetting then at least you can see the switching very quickly.

  24. Thats fine but some people feel the need to explain why they have decided not to continue thier sub I will be staying with AoC as this game cannot match it right now, on all points I care about SWTOR scores lower than AoC, I just wish AoC had the population to make it really great.
