  1. WZ: queue with my premade, roll the crappy sith "battlemasters" (is it even a title to display if practically all your faction has it), takes at most 11 games to finish the weekly.

Ilum: roll the center with 4 people while the main sith zerg camp our base and the dozen people there pulling them in. typically we finish our dailies in an hour or so. it basically goes we destroy all the solo sith picking up boxes, then after they whine about us enough in their general chat they get an ops of 20+ to roll over us, but we're done by then.

the best thing about it is that sith avoid us like the plague. if its a 4 v 4 fight, and another sith shows up, most of the time they just abandon their doomed comrades and get the hell away. don't even get off their speeder. the saddest thing I've seen in this game is 4 sith from the same guild seeing me and my healer, and they completely bail on the guy I jump because omg its only 4v2!

I don't want to generalize because I'm sure there are republic that do the same thing on other servers, but a lot of the sith more or less believe they're going to lose unless they have a zerg. At the start of voidstar I can do some emotes so the other side knows I'm there, and sometimes they actually leave before the game starts and we get the not enough people countdown until more sith battlemasters join.

I'm fine with faction imbalance. On vulkar highway at least, there are maybe a dozen good sith players total out of however many hundred they have on their fleet. On voidstar we farm them by letting them take the first door, then camping them on the computers to extend the bridge. the layout there with the pillars and ramps basically renders all the sorcs and tracer spamming idiots useless. they cant even get a kill on us given 6 full minutes.

Stay strong republic. they have the numbers but we have the core.

  2. Remember that a tank's job description is not "Survive" it is "Protect your allies"

No-one can do their job dead, obviously, ad you're a bit more durable than dps'ers, but your tanking abilities in pvp are taunt and guard. Aside from that, you have enourmous mobility and a large amount of disruptive abilities to keep people off your allies. (Stasis/Stun/Push/Leap/Interrupts)

You also reduce enemy damage by A LOT if you play well. (Friendly leap / Taunts / Guard / Tanking Debuffs)

Not to mention you can sunder armor, helping your damagers squish people.

Remember, tanks are a SUPPORT class. You are meant to compliment a dps, just like a healer is.

you can do all those things in any spec, including focus. in which case you can also lead dps charts and put tremendous burst pressure on the other team

so yeah kinda a no brainer

  3. true story, guardians only have 1 viable pvp spec

tank spec is just bad, there's hardly any mitigation and all the protection you do, you can do almost as well as in focus, only in focus you also pull 300k dps

vigilance is likewise bad, because its single target dps only, and the single target dps is still less than focus's single target dps

which is not to say focus is OP or anything, because it revolves around a 18 second cooldown to do max damage bursts .... its just saying the other 2 trees are bad

I see a lot of people saying "im X and its working out pretty good for me" but this is relative. As focus, I do 400k minimum on map like voidstar, with a good 30k prot thrown in just from taunting and guardian leaping around. I'd say that is better than a gimp tank/vigilance build that does 150k damage and 80k prot.

  4. just try to contribute as much as you can and pvp your way to the centurion gear

even if you lose (which if you're doing the things like capping points/dying to prevent points from being capped/ccing correctly, you should win a decent amount) its the fastest way to get level 50 purples

pve gear takes forever to get and is quite bad for pvp with 0 expertise

  5. I don't really care about the medal loss but being able to heal in between fights was nice. Now I have to stop and use channel hatred for 10s and pray nobody decides to smash my face in while I stand still. I wish they implement something similar that doesn't count for medals/healing or let me channel OOC heal while moving...

you understand that they intend you to have to stand there and channel hatred between fights? so that there is some downtime?

  6. nope

the pvp/pve tier gear enhancements only has power plus one of the following:

    1) surge

    2) accuracy

    3) alacrity

realistically, surge was OP amongst these three because the other 2 are kinda crappy (please don't mention alacrity as being any good ... the returns are marginal). even after the nerf its arguable that for pvp, you're still best off stacking surge amongst these 3, at least until 250 or so surge where the DR really kicks in.

they will never make power/crit because it would absolutely blow the alternatives out of the water for all classes/specs

  7. i guarentee in the history of this game there has not been a single 40 v 40 showdown in ilum on any server

    1) you'd be hard pressed to find a server with 40 republic in ilum. maybe 10 exist out of 250 north american servers

    2) on every server, no matter how many republics there are, there are at the very least double that amount of imperials

the OP's 40 v 40 is actually 80 sith camping 20 republic in their base

  8. In fact, I'd argue Juggernauts/Guardians easily have the WORSE defensive CDs in the game compared to other classes.

Pretty much. Marauders have a 90% miss single target on 45s cd, a vanish, a 99% damage reduction shield, and saber ward.

Juggs have ... enure pain and saber ward. Sabre ward is good but 3 minute cooldown pretty much means it'll be active 1/3 of the time you really want to use it. Enure pain gives me like 4k more hp, and when it ends in a few seconds I basically take 4k damage. If I'm lucky I can use that extra time to get another rotation off, or best case run to some health. 2 defensive cooldowns, the good one on a 3 minute timer, the other one almost always useless but still on a 90 second timer. WOOO

  9. I have optimal gear (BM + Rakata Belt/Bracers/Weapon + Matrix Cube + I've taken out all the enhancements/mods to optimize power surge) and I have NEVER hit 7k. NEVER. Relics + adrenal.

The most I can do is something like 6k, and thats with adrenal/relic on. Otherwise its 5k on a non-geared light armor, and on a guy with full centurion its probably more like 4k. ON a guy with heavy armor I hit 3k.

I do this every 18 seconds. The rest of the time I'm basically interrupting or taunting while building up rage and using my setup moves again, none of which do that much damage.

In addition, countless times the FIVE METER aoe misses everything because I get knocked back during the long *** animation/they move out of the way, and I have to not only wait for the cooldown for smash, I again have to wait for the cooldown for force exhaust which is 18 seconds to do my one "big" damage move.

    Oh, I have 15k hp.

    Troll more plz.

  10. leavers are weak. I run with one of the better premades on our server and we always play it through. We usually win since there is a mix of premade advantage/us being awesome going on, and I've noticed that very very seldom do the pugs leave our games, because they know they have a chance and they know we wont leave

so think about that next time you leave, once people recognize you as a leaver, they wont give a **** about leaving your games

  11. But then you would never get YOUR BM set.

Then you would try and look cool saying **** like I us OJ gear in PvP , I'm just that good.

We of course would know the truth lile we do now but you'd feel better about it i guess.

i already have my bm set and if i ever do less than 300k damage in non huttball bioware has permission to delete my character

  12. I think it would be interesting to give out anti medals, like if you dont have 200k damage OR 50k protection OR 150k heals OR a decent amount of objective points, you should get a LVP medal that is worth -200 valor / -50 commendations.

Other variations would exist too, like if you're a sniper and you cant do at least 300k damage you get punished.

  13. same ****, vulkar highway

60 on 30 in ilum at best, buncha exploits on both sides in wz. we (republic) do win more in wz though, especially recently as it seems any gear advantage the sith had is being narrowed
