  1. The brackets were to avoid a wall of text on a minor aside. A best effort attempt was made to preserve intended meaning. As a tangent, it has no value in discussion, but feel free to clarify if you like.
  2. I can't speak for him, but I was playing MMOs in 1994, back when they were called MUDs. In fact, GemStone IV is still alive today after 24 years. On the topic: economy was my complaint when I unsubbed. Please, get it out of your minds that players should repeat quests ad nauseum to drive their quality-of-life benefits. You overtuned the sinks so much that most people have empty wallets until they need something, thus killing most margins of profit and with them a large potential economy.
  3. You have mentioned DPS, healing and tanking "targets" as objective methods of balancing the roles in the game. Are there hybrid targets (e.g. healing&dps spec) as well? It seems some hybrid specs are viable on certain classes and out of the question on others. I suppose this has to do with objectively balancing lower tier skills across the classes.
  4. My two big ones: Public UI API. Macros, to handle e.g.: /cast [friend]HealOverTimeSpell; [foe]DamageOverTimeSpell /cast [mod:alt] Attack2; [nomod] Attack1 And some smaller requests: Clickable, non-overlapping, non-scaling UI nameplates. Allow targets to be clickable even when the camera is against certain walls/forcefields, like bridge forcefield in Voidstar. Improve tab targeting (e.g. increase range; trend towards center of screen; reset the tab targeting cycle after the camera has been moved > 50 degrees; do not cull targets that are out of character LOS, even though they're in the middle of the screen, like when you're above someone on The Pit) Delayed tooltip fade Include legacy character names on the mailing auto-fill list, prioritize over friends list, which prioritizes over guild list Option to remove guild list from mailing auto-fill names Auto select "To:" field when composing mail Retain "Compose" tab focus after sending mail, with retained "To:" name highlighted Auto select "Sell" tab on GTN after right-click adding an item Auto select "Your Buyout Price" field on GTN "Sell" tab Auto select "How Many?" field on stack splitting In GTN "Buy" tab, auto add name to "Name" field when shift-left clicking an item (or some other hotkey) While posting an item to GTN, replace your list of for sale items with GTN data about the item (# for sale, min max, perhaps even historical trends) or simply show all of the current postings of that item Move the green check mark (appears when a party member is ready to start a group interaction) to the UI, perhaps to the right of the nameplate. It is currently overlapped by the class icon from most camera angles. [Probably a bug] Do not lose Map window focus when clicking on the Legend/Map window when the chat window is behind the cursor When a new target is selected, immediately blank the current target portrait or eliminate new target portrait latency completely. When a hotkey is unbound, check to see if the unmodified version of that hotkey is bound, and perform that action. For example, "Mouse Wheel Up" is bound to "Zoom In" and "Shift + Mouse Wheel Up" is unbound. In this case, "Shift + Mouse Wheel Up" will initiate "Zoom In". Add "PVP" or "WZ" or similar to possible Who terms, showing all players currently in a warzone. Increase max camera zoom out by factor of ~2 Mission cred/xp/item rewards in mission log Reduce deadspace on many UI elements such as player/target health. It should look more like an ops unit frame if we want it to. [edit: adding a few big ones] A frame which shows a list of progress bars, which have the spell icon and name of your active HoTs/DoTs/etc, sorted by faction/target, option to show only current target As above, for combat procs / upper hand / cleansable debuffs etc Opposing team Ops frame Add "Sort/stack" button to backpack and bank tabs, which does the SWTOR equivalent of this: BagSort High memory usage option to keep map/character sheet/skills/etc window in primary memory, so that opening them does not induce hitching.
  5. Preface: It seems mixed specs are never mentioned as part of the dps/healing targets and that they are not designed for. In 1.2, for example, a large part of Tracer Missile/Grav Round's damage (11 point Arsenal) was moved to a 31 point talent. Mixed Healing/DPS PVP specs (24/17/0 mercenary, for example) which were once possible became unviable as the result of this change. Question: Is it the intent of the developers to only design content/classes for primary skill trees or are mixed trees given equal deliberation?
  6. Thanks. It seems both winners and losers have been increased from about 100:50 max to about 150:100 max. This is much more reasonable. Please do not nerf it again. Thank you.
  7. They do? This sounds more like the gambler's fallacy or some misunderstanding. Slots, roulette, craps, keno, lottery all have no such algorithm. The order of cards in a fresh deck (whether simulated or real) has no such algorithm. For ref, the point at which >80% of people will have learned a recipe: 20% chance: 8 attempts 10% chance: 16 attempts 5% chance: 32 attempts Of course, none of that takes away from your suggestion! It would be nice to have a freebie or something after a certain number of fails. I believe one of the devs discussed the possibility of that in the guild summit.
  8. No. You get a completely random item. I was under the impression that there were 40 rather than 8 possible customizations. I'm glad to learn I was wrong; that makes the random chance / non-tradeable method quite a bit more bearable.
  9. I've got 3 Infected Elara Dorne and 2 Infected Mako customizations (out of 7 total). I have no use for more than one of each. I would be happy with any reasonable solution, for example, making them tradeable.
  10. Wrong. It is fastest to lose with 8 medals quickly than to drag a game out. There is absolutely NO reward, even with the upcoming changes, to bust your neck to drag out a 6:0 Huttball game. The dominating team has some minor incentive to win quickly, but the steamrolled team has no reason to try after it's 3:0 with 8 medals. Beyond that, your win/loss reward disparity is ridiculously harsh and will continue to be as that is clearly your intention. A 4 to 6 loss on Voidstar with 10 medals just got me 42 commendations (with 2 MVP votes). The winning team likely got ~100. What are you going to change it to? 50:100? 60:100? It's still bull.
  11. This may be the intention, but it is not the implementation. Example: losing 6:0 Huttball in 6 minutes vs losing 6:0 in Huttball 12 minutes. Same reward: 40 comms for the losers, 100 for the winners. Please consider closing this gap across the board and reward the losing team for dragging out the game.
  12. Max critical crafting options: Artifice: None. Synthweaving: Ship Droid (+5) (All characters) Armstech: Smuggler (+5) (Republic only) Armormech: Trooper (+5) (Republic only) Cybertech: Ship Droid (+5) (All characters) Biochem: Jedi Knight (+5) (Republic only) 3 out of 6 crafting skills are imbalanced in favor of the Republic, and even then only for certain classes. BioWare either doesn't care or has intentionally made it this way.
  13. Signed, sort of. 1. If you have joined within 3-4 minutes of the battle ending, or if the battle last less than 3-4 minutes, the medal requirement is unreasonable. 2. Please value performance for commendations, not win/loss. If you bust your neck to lose, you should at least get the same reward for easily steamrolling a group. This is especially frustrating reward:effort when you have things like 5 vs 8, deadweight, et al.
  14. Seems that way. 24/17/0 is unviable now that Tracer Round does lower DPS than Power Shot (lol?), and the allegedly tweaked damage was moved to a 0/31/0 skill. Beyond that, the Critical Efficiency has doubled the cost of Rapid Scan and the Expertise bonus to healing has been halved. I have to wonder if the new PVP efficacy (both healing and damage) of pure/mixed Combat Medic/Bodyguard is actually on target, and if BW thinks it is on par with other classes. Maybe they are adding incentive to switch to dps? I wonder if they even have a target for mixed specs.
