  1. He totally does, specially if you're a female Trooper and flirt with him.
  2. Maybe "queue" is a bit of a misleading word. You cannot press a series of abilities and have your character perform them in sequence. The basic idea is, you have to perform the sequence yourself; the only exception to this, is you can queue *one* ability a bit before the one that is currently executing has finished. This is more efficient since there is zero time between finishing one attack and starting the next one. But it isn't that necessary at early levels. One important point. You say you are a level 12 Bounty Hunter. You have picked your Advanced Class, either Powertech or Mercenary, right? Because if you haven't, that would be the main source of your frustration - you are missing on a bunch of your abilities and skills, that is why everything feels so hard.
  3. Yes it is the same kiosk. All kiosks in the game are connected: Republic Fleet, Imperial Fleet, Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, Nar Shaddaa, Dealer's Den, and the personal starships. I think all Legacy unlocks that require Legacy level when purchased with credits, do not require it when purchased with Cartel Coins. In any case, if you do not meet the requirements you cannot even buy it. So if you fear a situation where you spend your CCs and then you cannot use the kiosk - fear not, that is not possible. If the game allows you to spend the coins, you will have your kiosk. Which is wonderful to have, btw - particularly since the game loads so much faster when on your ship than on Fleet.
  4. If you read the codex entry for Armstech, you will see that the mission skill that best goes with it is Investigation, not Underworld Trading. Nylasteel does indeed come from Investigation. So you can either: - Keep your crew skills the way they are. Sell on the GTN eveything you get from Underworld Trading; use the credits to buy the researched compounds you would get from Investigation - i.e. Nylasteel. There are 3 different crafting skills that use materials gathered from UWT, so they sell pretty well. - Drop Underworld Trading and learn Investigation instead. I assume you did not level UWT very high, so it is not a big loss. - Drop Armstech for Armormech. Armormech is particularly well suited for a Trooper since your character and all your companions use the same kind of armor. You will need mats from UWT for the blue and purple schematics. - Drop Armstech and Underworld Trading and get Armormech and Slicing , just like PCGamer recommends. You will still need to buy materials, but Slicing is good because a) you gather credits from world nodes, so you will have money to spend b) you can get materials and schematics to make augments. Augments are nice to have, and sell very well at low levels. Depends on what you want to do. But I'd say the quickest solution is to drop UWT and get Investigation. Being able to craft your own barrels is great while leveling a Trooper.
  5. In order for your character to become part of a guild, you have to receive a guild invitation while in-game. It will look similar to a group invite; as soon as you accept you will be in the guild. You will see the Guild chat in your chat window, and your character will show the name of the guild below your name (this can be turned off but I believe is on by default). This is completely disconnected to anything the guild website may show. They probably have accepted your application, so they have set you up as a member in the website, but haven't seen you online yet so they can invite you. If you are online, look for a guild official and ask them.
  6. If you open your Abilities tab (default key is P) you will see among then your armor and weapon proficiencies. But yeah, your class and Advanced Class determines those, you cannot learn any more. The type of armor or weapon is not as important as the stats on them.
  7. In this game the "bank" is called cargo hold. There is a filter on the map to mark different kinds of things, cargo hold is one of them. The starter planets do not have one, you have to reach your Fleet or any other planet.
  8. That is correct, it comes from the Investigation missions that yield Grade 1 Researched Compounds. Keep in mind that you only get Nylasteel if the mission is a critical success, so pick a companion with Critical investigation bonus if you have one, and make sure his/her affection is as high as possible.
  9. This is the list of all abilities all ACs get at level 10: http://www.torhead.com/abilities/level/10-10/class/any/advclass/any Unfortunately the filter does not seem to allow to show only the passives, you'll have to check the tooltips.
  10. Yes you can do that. The only reasons why a moddable piece of gear may not be identical to another are: - Armor class. Assuming your orange armor is either adaptive or the right type for your class, you're ok. - Set bonuses. EDITED - Tionese gear has set bonuses attached to the shell. Depending on your Advanced Class and skill tree these may be completely useless, somewhat interesting or something you cannot live without. Try them and decide if you can ditch them. You can get campaign armorings with set bonus attached, but you need to run a few ops (or a few dozen HMs and dailies) for that.
  11. Not by itself. All armor sold on the cartel shop is modifiable: by itself it offers next to no armor and no stats, but you can put mods in them that will upgrade its armor rating and improve your character's stats.
  12. Not sure about the DVD, but if you run the downloaded installer and tell it to install the game in the folder where you copied the files from the former installation, it will detect them and finish installation without downloading anything. The game will work fine after that.
  13. So, I read through everything here and enjoyed it immensely. Superb job!! Subscribing and hoping for more.
  14. I leveled mine as a full Scrapper and found the tanks (Corso and Bowdaar) suited my playstyle the best. Until I got Guss, which made everything easy mode, but he's the last you get. Stick with Bowdaar until then - he doesn't have ranged attacks so he doesn't move mobs around as much as Corso. The DPS girls can be very efficient, but only if you gear them up, in my experience. People swear by Akaavi though, so maybe I was doing something wrong.
  15. This is a good resource: http://www.swtor-spy.com/companions/ Inside every companion's page you can see on which mission, level and planet you get them.
  16. As a general rule, you are only able to obtain a schematic from items that you have crafted yourself. I think the only exception to this rule are some endgame mods, relics and implants.
  17. If you want to make items worth anything as you level, you will need the corresponding mission skill: Treasure Hunting for Artifice, or Underworld Training for Synthweaving. So no second gathering skill unless you plan to just level the skill and then using it once you are level 50. I would say Artifice is more useful in general. Crystals and enhancements are useful for all of your companions and future alts; almost the same with generators. Where as Synthweaving stuff are useful only for Force users (or weird companions like Bowdaar or Vector). Synthweaving, on the other hand, can make augments. Everyone recommends not to bother with low level augments, but still, they sell like hotcakes. You will need to buy schematics and materials on the GTN (unless you hace a Slicer), but they pay for themselves quickly. Also worth considering: the Jedi Knight companion bonuses are slightly better suited for Synthweaving than Artifice. See http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=132015
  18. Hello Jose. For some reason, when you finish the capital world (Coruscant for Republic characters) you get 2 class missions, one for Taris and one for Nar Shaddaa; and when you finish those, you get another 2, one for Tatooine and one for Alderaan. The intented progress is Taris - Nar Shaddaa - Taatooine - Alderaan. I have no idea why the game gives you a class mission for the next planet, except to create confusion. In any case: finish up at least your class missions in Taris, and be at least level 20, before going to Nar Shaddaa. You can probably finish Nar Shaddaa before starting Taris, but you will have a bit of a hard time unless you level up first - and then all missions in Taris will be grey and give no XP.

    armor

There is no appearance tab in this game. However, there is modifiable armor. These are armor shells that have no stats, but have slots in which you put modifications that give them stats. At low level you cannot find many modifications, so most green or blue armor that you get will be way better. But when you level up you will see that a modifiable armor with good mods is much better than most non-moddable gear. So, keep your gold scalene armor around, you'll be able to use it without losing out on stats very soon!
  20. 4. Depends on what you mean by "companion quest". All companions in the game have a series of "missions", but for most of them they are only conversations on the ship or on cantinas. One companion for every class does have missions that involve going to planets and fighting bosses. For most classes that companion is the first one you get; I believe Jedi Knight is the exception and it's Kira instead of T7 that has the "real mission", but I haven't played one enough to verify. Relating to this: if I am correct about Kira, then the answer to 1 is no, you did not kill the companion quest because there was no quest to kill. T7 will keep on wanting to chat and telling you stories of his former master, whether you want it or not, but there is no mission to actually go look for him. 3. Yes, I think you get affection points for conversations on your current companion, regardless of them being actually present. If you don't want to get negative points for one particular choice, you can always take out C2 - he's unfazed by anything you do.
  21. The user profile (options, chat channels, UI and so on) can be copied too, but they are in a different folder. It changes a bit depending on your Windows version, but should be similar to C:\Users\ [Yourusername] \appdata\Local\SWTOR
  22. If I remember correctly, the first thing your class mission requires is for you to check in at Coruscant spaceport customs, and you cannot do this without your companion. So you either have it, or you're stuck there. Most likely he is unsummoned. Press N and check that he appears on the list; if you do not have a summon button next to him, check the companion area on the screen (circle on the lower left corner if you haven't moved it) and click on the small button inside it.
  23. Two different things: - Bonus missions: many missions have a bonus component. You've most likely seen it - you get a mission to get something from a cave, you kill the animals at the entrance and a message pops up: "Bonus - kill 20 uglyfurries". These bonus missions dissapear when you finish the mission they are linked to - and if you complete them they give lots of XP. Some of them are multi staged - you complete one stage and get directions for the next: these usually end up having to kill an elite enemy, and usually reward even more XP and planet commendations. Do try to always complete these bonus missions. - Bonus series: most planets offer a bonus series of missions. They are a complete new set of missions intented for a higher level than the normal ones. For instance, Tattoiine is set for characters level 24 to 28, but its bonus series is set for characters 28 to 32. They are a good alternative if you find yourself underleveled for a planet. Again, 2 different things. - Advancing your first character in a server to a certain point unlocks your Legacy - it used to be when finishing chapter 1 of your story (around level 32), but now it's at level 10 for subscribers. I guess preferred or F2P players unlock it a bit later. Anyway, this Legacy is shared with all your characters in the server, and among other things, gives you access to Legacy unlocks that you can purchase from your Legacy window (press Y key) with in-game credits or Cartel Coins. Some unlocks are Legacy-wide, others apply only to one character. Among the one-character ones there are boosts that improve the amount of XP you get with certain things: either class missions, space missions, Flashpoints, PvP or exploration. - You can purchase Cartel packs with Cartel Coins. These contain random items - among them, consumable items that boost your XP gain for a limited time. They can be sold on GTN, so even if you do not have Cartel Coints to spare, you will probably find them on the GTN to purchase for credits.
  24. The daily mission areas are fairly separated for both factions, I rarely run into opposing players. Admittedly I play on a PvE server, maybe on PvP ones people do go out of their way to look for trouble. But I advise you to try and play your existing char before leaving all your legacy behind.
  25. In the galaxy map on your ship it shows the appropriate levels for each planet. If I remember correctly, following that reccomendation you should be on Hoth at 39. But it really depends. Do you want to get to 50 as fast as possible? Leave Balmorra now. Do you want to complete all the quests, or at least the main Bonus series mission that I assume you are doing? Go ahead and finish them. By the way, the daily missions for PvP, Flashpoints or Space missions are a very good source of extra XP, and a pretty nice break from the monotony of planet missions. Try any of those. I think just one FP through Group Finder, when combined with the Fleet daily, can get you those 300K XP you need.
