  1. Actually, I think Bioware are trying to help us by targeting the most dangerous person nearby. Forget the guy directly in front of you, its the guy BEHIND you that you need to worry about.... Oh no wait, its just bad coding. /sigh. On a serious note, it seems like its selecting in a conal direction from the cameras point of view, and not your toon (hence why it likes selecting people behind you, if they are near your camera) and closest to the centre of your screen.
  2. On the weekend on my server there's around 170 odd people in the fleet.... yet, you still cant find a group for anything. I see people on their speeder bikes doing laps of the fleet, or spinning round in circles for no apparent reason other than extremely mild entertainment. The most fun i've had in recent days is standing over the barrier in the fleet, inviting random people and gripping them to their deaths. It's a shame really, I want to play this game.... But who wants to do a heroic instance when there is absolutely no incentive. Do two EV's and you're almost (if not) in full Coumni / half Rakata. Gone are the days of weeks worth of raiding just to get a piece of gear or two (and we all know these were the good times, vanilla MC etc, when seeing someone in full BLUES was impressive)... But that's because of the player base. Everyone wants everything to be given to them with minimal effort, and get annoyed when things take "too long". Well this is the result. A game where everyone has everything, and no one wants to play any more.
  3. Haha win! I'll transfer... mainly because i'm **** bored on Swiftsure... no one seems to be doing any hard modes on republic, at least not pugs anyways.
  4. Just participated. I'm interested to see these results. My system is overkill for SWTOR (at least, it should be) and I believe my FPS are horrible at times. Sure, open world questing etc is fine, but when you have a brand new GTX590, i7 3.2 oc'd, and 24 gb of ram you would expect to be getting more than 1-5 fps in Ilum.
  5. That would be fun In wow our guild used to solo queue for 3v3 arena practice matches all at the same time, and you'd all get put into random teams and fight each other. Was a lot of fun!
  6. I also played Rift and noticed this. Probably won't be quite as bad here once cross faction PvP is introduced (which was confirmed in the Q&A thread) as you can fight your own faction, and it also depends on how many other servers they group yours with. And you are right, people do just want to stomp pugs all day because after all, smashing people into the dirt IS fun. The Q&A thread also mentioned a new matchmaking system, so premades may only fight equally geared pugs, whilst the undergeared / new 50's fight similarly geared players. This is all coming in patch 1.2 (whenever that is)
  7. The difference is, you've actually worked your way there rather than standing in a massive group buffing people, AOE spamming or getting valor from a lvl 50 champion cannon that one shots people unlucky enough to get gripped in You would have a far better understanding of pvp than these other fools. /salute you.
  8. I like to fight to the end too, but aparrently most dont. Premade seems to be the only way to go just about, but even then you dont get a good fight. The other team just leaves.
  9. 1. Join warzone. 2. Both teams are full of battlemaster plebs that have farmed Ilum for their battlemaster status, which required no skill to get. 3. Scenario A: Your team scores the first point in huttball, gets 2 bases in Alderaan, or arms the first door in Voidstar. Enemy team leaves to go cry in the corner, You win. Secnario B: Enemy team scores the first point in huttball, gets 2 bases in Alderaan, or arms the first door in Voidstar. Your team leaves to go cry in the corner, You lose. 4. See item 1.
  10. I did read it yes. I also posted a question which went unanswered (unsurprisingly). It was just a suggestion, you don't have to :/ I'm sure it will be changed eventually.
  11. Well, not yet anyways. You should put the question to them in the next Q&A thread.
  12. They could just make the damage instant, and keep the animation. May feel a little strange at first, but you'd get used to it.
  13. In my eyes, Bioware has done extremely well. There are constant changes and hotfixes. New changes are announced virtually the day after a patch goes live, which is addressing more and more issues. They are clearly listening to peoples requests, toying with balance and improving the game. A lot of the things people are crying about are just luxury addtions (for example, LFG tool) which will come eventually, but not until the game is ready for it. At this rate, give it 6 months and we will have a very polished MMO.
  14. This game is full of soft ***** and crybabies. It's the way the world is going now unfortunately. I read an article where a school wanted to ban the use of red pens, because the colour red means bad and could offend students. Anyways, if you feel a slight "nerf" to surge is going to wreck your class, even though the same "nerf" applies to everyone, you're doing something wrong. Stop expending all your energy trying to kill someone in the first 3 seconds, rendering yourself worthless for the next 10. And before you tell me I wouldnt know, my mate is a scoundrel healer and I always roll with him in BG's. He almost always tops healing, and is just about invincible from what i've seen.
  15. Yeah I was aware of that. All stats bar the primary ones have DR's This is a minor change.
  16. What the hell.... How can you call this a nerf to operatives when its happening to everyone.... And the DR is just to stop surge from scaling too high, higher than initially intended.... It's the same as if everyone's health were reduced by 10%, saying its a nerf to tanks because they have the most HP and will be "hit hardest" by this. In conclusion, people are stupid.
  17. The 30% extra armor brings me up to that of a "medium" armor level. I like having that little bit of extra toughness and I can difinteily tell the difference without it. I agree with your statement Kitru, the only time I find myself at or over 100 force is when i'm not in combat.
  18. Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts. I happen to agree with you on almost everything. ^ Wow. I can't believe I missed this. That'll teach me for not reading tooltips properly. all i saw was force breach and bonus damage http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#6010MZGGMRzhRbtzZf0c.1 That's the revised spec i'm considering now. I've only put 1 point into subduing techniques making it a 9 second slow on a 9 second cooldown, retained both points in shadowy veil because i like the extra armor, maxed out force synergy, dropped vigor, and put the remaining 2 in force mastery for the armor pen. I was considering the 30% aoe reduction for pvp as a lot of classes seem to have aoe abilities that hit relatively hard (rage jugs with smash in particular). I can always play with this though and see how it feels. Celerity would be nice for the reduced cooldown on force of will, but rarely would you be able to use it more than once in a single fight. It would come off cooldown quicker sure, and be used more times in the long run sure, and help me win a fight that I was going to lose but its really much of a muchness. The reduced interupt cooldown isn't a biggie. If i need to interupt i can low slash and stun as well. Thanks.
  19. For a sustained dps rotation (as infiltration): Start from stealth, open with: 2x clairvoyance Project Breach Shadow strike (only when find weakness procs) From there on, it becomes a priority system. Always use force breach as soon as it's up. Use shadow strike if the find weakness proc will run out before the extra damage on project. Otherwise, project only after 2x clairvoyance has been done. When everything else is on cooldown, use your basic assault to build exit stratergy stacks for Breach. The only reason why I would say not to open with breach is because you could potentially gain a few stacks of exit stratergy before you use it the first time, causing it to hit harder. Use blackout early on to get the 6 seconds of extra force regen, and so its back off cooldown possibly for use twice or more (during boss fights). Additionally, you can vanish and attack again immediately to gain another 6 seconds of extra force regen. Activate force potency for when breach comes active after the inital use. The reason for this is because you will have around 4-5 stacks of exit stratergy, maximising the bonus damage. I would never recomend using shadow strike without find weakness. You are better off saving the force for a proc or another ability rather than starving yourself of force. Realistically, if you're doing everything right, you'll never have spare force for doing this anyways (unless you're in a boss fight requiring lots of movement).
  20. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601ZGGMRkhMbtzZdMc.1 I can't decide which final to talents to spend my remaining 2 points in. I will mainly be pvping, with a little bit of casual pve on the side. I was considering kinetic field for 30% reduced AOE damage, and i've ruled out focused insight (an occasional 1% hp heal will rarely make a difference). I was also considering 2 points in technique mastery, but i'm not sure how much extra damage 6% armor pen will give me, and if i would more than make up for that if i took the talent next to it which increases clairvoyance by 6% outright. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  21. Am I the only Shadow / Assassin that likes the delay on this ability? I love the fact that I can hit project, and have it hit at exactly the same time as my breach for lots of burst, causing my enemy to panic. I will give you credit for the balance issue though. If the classes are supposed to be mirrored, then both should be delayed or both be instant.
  22. I remember when this started happening before arenas were ever introduced / announced in wow. There were videos of it on youtube, and I believe this is what gave blizzard the idea too.
  23. ^ This. May as well take out attacking all together. Sounds like all huttball needs is a new kind of pit where tears can be depositied.
