  1. Excuse me? Why do casual alt-levelers and personal story hoppers need need to come online to accomplish any of their gaming needs? What use are you to other players on a server and why you need to pay monthly sub and have constant internet connection to play a game where you glee at the screen while the movie unfolds or you bash mobs in isolated personal chamber? Now I don't mean any disrespect but do you understand that those game aspect are neither required or wanted in an MMO universe and they do come at the expense of other gameplay elements that cater to groups specifically? The sum of development effort from start until release is a finite number of hours and only so much can be put into a game and MMOs in particular have one glaring issue to overcome - RETENTION, which comes from interesting (Id rather say challenging here) endeavors they can team up to crack and devs need to refresh that content on a regular basis. To give you proof that you requested you will first have to backup your claims. Where is that vast army of casuals/soloer/altaholics you speak of? I started with EverQuest 1 and Asheron's Call 1 and have yet to see the sheer amount of players you speak of that kept any major MMO to date alive. People return to MMOs because of other people and even forgive (to a degree) lack of content or other issues game might have and that community is usually the last thing preventing them to leave. I stand by this statement until our very own Sun dies!
  2. Yourself and other 27 people that like personal interactive movie is what mislead BW and the current population is a proof to that. Putting that into an MMO was the biggest mistake at expense of all other aspects of the game/endgame/pvp/... They should make SW Online and SW Age, two different games and abide by the requirements of each game type.
  3. And once more I have to agree. However I have accounted for this but haven't laid our the differences yet the question was simple on purpose in order to see whether this "game type" would even appeal. To answer the character growth issue map would need to present temporary power buffs (that persist death but vanish once map is over) to mimic the character growth that come from mobs and player kills. Theres alot more tho but at this moment it's pointless to dive into detailed design apart from the fact it just might be possible to adapt. Granted there's more depth from proper MOBA game especially since you have what 100 or 200 different heroes to play with but since PvP provides endless fun (given it is properly balanced) MMOs can only benefit from adapting this type along with whatever they have.
  4. I agree with you but if you knew battle arena rules you'd know you cannot just pass mobs or turrets. Rules for this game type are fleshed out and tested by millions and millions of hours of gameplay or should I say billions. If done properly rest assured you cannot zerg.
  5. Would it be possible to recreate a warzone with DOTA/LOL map rules (or close to it) but for 8 players and more importantly would swtor community even like it?
  6. No idea mate but what I do know is that I will be playing in the Eternal Battlegrounds in GW2 so cross server queues or not I do not care anymore.
  7. I support your selfish reasons! Planet Earth is proud to offer a home to likes of you and your parents did a fine job with all they taught you. Live long and prosper!
  8. This is the most logical however SW:TOR's model allows that even loosing team collects rewards (or individuals for that matter) to eventually gear up. I like the OP's proposal tho. Least that way people can focus on whatever they are specced into.
  9. When you drop from wz on your own or connection drops nothing happens and you get one counter that lasts one hour. If whithin that hour you repeat that action you get second countr timer refreshes to one hour and five minutes deserter debuf. Third time in one hour you get thirty or sixty minutes deserter debuf. There it covers accidental drops or just rl issues and catches warzone hoppers.
  10. Allowing sprint or leap while carrying the ball is only loop-siding the game. Can't help to think the game was designed more around positioning and passing over just some classes being able to impact the outcome in a big way. Or am I wrong?
  11. ... Nov. 29th registration and got in with last wave today. Was disgusted with the outcry on the forums (which I followed as I had nothing better to do in the evenings). Thanks BioWare! The game looks solid (gonna admit I was never shocked but certain aspects are a pleasant surprise) but so many of your community are like a cancer - not really sure when you got it or if you are gonna get rid of it. Yes I am now waiting in a server queue so what it's not unreasonable I've grown thick skin in the past 13+ MMO years.
