  1. So Ive had 50 for a few days now and started doing some flashpoints, have done several hardmodes. When lvling I didnt have much of a problem just used my CDs but in flashpoints Im finding not using Zen being the more beneficial way. Transcendence is probably one of our most amazing abilites, as some already know. During a fight Ive focused on pretty much keeping transcendence up, entering a fight first stack of centering goes to transcendence pop valorus call then inspiration and my next centering going towards transcend. Sents become such a support role that I didnt really expect it. All the cries of sent being trash is just stupid I made it to 50 no problem, yes i agree THIS IS NOT AN EASY CLASS TO PLAY, but in no way are we 'trash' ppl just need to learn this 'pure' dps class isnt so pure, our support in flashpoints ops is really amazing and gonna be the difference between getting bosses down or not.
  2. When I played combat, lvled to 50 with it and played a while, I went for crit/surge. I kept 100% accuracy and doing hardmodes/50 flashpoints I was not parried nor did I miss. I use the acc/crit till ~100% then go for crit/surge. I do the same thing with watchmen.
  3. Power has such a small conversion it feels, so crit/surge combo becomes better. And I did a hardmode last night and had 100% accuracy and I didnt see any misses or parry. Not sure about ops yet though.
  4. If you look at the Secondary damage mine isnt very high, cant think of the numbers, at lvl 50. With almost every ability we use hitting with BOTH lightsabers I dont think anything is really broken. Im watchman and when I use my mericless slash I hit for like 2900 with my MH crit and like ~600 crit with my offhand and like 300s when I dont crit still giving me close to like 3k hits. I personally dont feel anythings bugged so to say, I think it could use a slight buff but that's about it.
  5. All those fall under it, but thinking of it a little 'most' of the yellow attacks are considered force our cauterize and overload saber come off as yellow dot, elemental damage. I would assume they fall under it, maybe.
  6. Its a lot of preference, but Ive found that watchman does more damage than Combat. Watchman has more sustain on long fights which is what youre gonna run into if youre a PvE player. Combat is a little harder to maintain a really tight rotation for good dps, which I kept most of the time, and long fights felt like Watchman came out on top. Now this is going on what people I consistently group with and do lvl 50 heroic 4s and flashpoints.
  7. Ive been then of a few things, I played combat all the way to 50 and did a bunch of number crunching then went watchman as its the superior spec atm imo. But anyhoo, Ive been looking at power/surge (I know this is a rough combo) because power gives more damage so DoTs hit harder and with zen proc surge would give you nice ticks. Just a though Ive had, but currently all my mods and enhancements are for combat 105% accuracy 30% crit 70% surge.
  8. Centering is to activate our Zen, which you already stated, and theres some neat things that you get later on we can use centering on that are more support buffs. But centering is built by using abilits such as Slash it uses focus and grants us the number of focused used in centering, I believe. When you activate your Zen, which can help a lot in situations, different forms effect what happens when you pop Zen. Like I said it can be really helpful and almost always a DPS increase. You wanna try and use Zen as much as possible.
  9. So I've been playing a sentinel since a little before launch and I've recently gotten lvl 50 and really like it but feel just a little underpowered. I was curious how the melee dps of shadow felt with damage, possibly looking to create one.
  10. Ataru form is what I always used. Because of the procs it can have effect your dps better than Juyo for would. And Combat is not horrible by any means, if you're bad you're not gonna be able to play it as simple as that really.
  11. You're right, I forgot about that proc as well. I edited my post, all that needs to be switched is BR and Precision.
  12. Blade rush shouldnt be spammed, it should be kept up throughout your whole rotation. Force Leap > Zealous > Precision > BR > Blade Storm > Master strike. Was something how my rotation went. Lvled to 50 as combat and got through most everything. Keeping BR buff up is a must for combat to be efficient, also keeping all your abilites on CD, but thats an obvious.
  13. This is all well and good for PvP, but I look at things from a lot more of a PvE stand point. I imagine 120% would be nice for pvp sure, but for pve I think thatd be way over 'cap' so to say. But not sure how defense on npc flashpoint/ops are.
  14. Guardians have a type of saber throw (that's not dispatch) and they have a force push ability I believe. I didnt play any beta or anything so I don't know what sent did or did not have.
  15. Hmm, that is true. Something must fall under it if its there, but Im not too sure what it would be.
  16. I think that special attacks are considered our melee force attacks, like Blade Storm, force sweep..I think. If 105% is the number to strive for than that would make sense in a way too me. But after that I think itll be useless to put more towards it.
  17. As of right now, Im pretty sure, the tooltip reads that it reduces defenses i.e dodge parry reflect. Im probably going to stay around 100%, I havent started running 50 flashpoints yet to actually see what its like on higher lvl mobs but with standing behind the target and 100% acc I would think the diminish in defense wouldnt matter for PvE.
  18. Since Ive seen ppl wondering about this, to which tooltip it shows. The way I feel with accuracy is 100%+ Is for pvp, because if we look back on MMOs 'hit' had a point where it came unnessacary. This is how I feel about it for PvE 100% is what you should strive for, then push towards other stats.
  19. This. Is. Amazing. This isnt wow for the ppl who are coming over, you cant just steamroll stuff without trying. You have to use CDs and interrupts. I made lvl 50 and am very happy with my sent I feel a little underpowered but havent upgraded my gear and such.
  20. I recently made lvl 50 and used combat spec the whole way, generally mobs die pretty easily maybe pop a rebuke or something like that but small CD no big deal. Ive been looking at watchman but just love combat too much to change.
  21. This is one of the harder quests for classes Im pretty sure, Ive had to improvise like mad on some of them. I generally used Kira or Doc. Ive had success with both, just gotta keep medpacks on and roll through your rotation popping CDs when nessacary, if your dont...Well you know what happens.
  22. This guy gave me no trouble, Ive heard people complain about him just demolishing them. But in my case I walked in there, same lvl as the quest can't remember anymore, and I walked up to him and 1 shot him. Gotta keep on the interrupts, keep a medpack on hand but I ended the fight half health without using mine.
  23. I know this may still be a little early to be asking this but Im just curious what other ppl are looking at for Sent Combat stats, i.e Do I want to focus more on crit/surge, accuracy/crit. Or choose your combo, just curious of others inputs on this.
  24. Ive had very mixed feelings on the Sentinel, Im now lvl 49 and Ive had a very hard time through my story quest moreso than anything. But on that note I have a Guardian friend who was having mostly the same problems. I feel its hard to judge off our story quest since it feels harder than most, for whatever reason that is. Im combat at the moment and feel that my damage will be better at 50 with being able to focus on my group role, dps, interrupts, centering buff etc...I think things just need to pan out a little more and theyll be equal. This is just my take on it.
