It's just the human way of asking for something new then ************ when it comes.....
And yeah, that would be cool. They have multiple devlopment teams, not just one, so its most definetly possible. But I wouldn't expect it any time, BioWare is gonna be work on more features.
-
Someone puts everything online at one point on youtube. I have no doubt it'll go online. Plus, if they actually use livestream, it auto records. But I doubt they'll use JUST Livestream.
Any word on what they're using to stream it?
-
Any responses? This is important to me..... im really on the edge of this game.
-
SWTOR was built for close up face shots yet they are both similar, hmmmmm.......
-
Is there anywhere to view the stream afterwards? I appreciate BioWare doing this since the community has a lot of questions, but a lot of people including me will be at work or school. I will miss half the stream since I have some school (luckily no work that day), anyway, Will BioWare be putting it up somewhere afterwards? I'd hate to miss it.
-
I must be missing something, because that combat actions look the same as it is now.
Sure, there's not a jedi in the airlock like there was in that video. But we still fight a jedi.
So to me, any differences are marginal. The thing is, this is an MMO. You cannot just stick to single player RPG conventions and expect them to transfer seamlessly into a different market.
Your kidding, they blocked exactly, the attacks hit perfectly, so fluid, now combat is all over the place.
-
I followed this game since the first data was leaked in 2006, to me the game is just what the dev's said it would be from day one, to me it feels and plays and reminds me of the kotor games../shrug
How does it play, how does it feel, the dialog is totally written different, gamelay is different, totally different design, and totally different development team.
-
Erm.....with the exception of some slight differences in character models, the first video is precisely what happens in black talon.
The combat is much better, the designs are more closer to KOTOR, the UI stayed true to KOTOR, the Ambient noises where there, loop music.
Totally different
And no im not saying its wow in space to get under peoples skins, Im saying it because it is.

Blasting Drake - Marvin room and looking at this old video from 09 makes me realize what I was hyped about. I've been sad with SWTOR for a week because it's not what it was, I mean just look at this
Now look at this
09 one had much more emphasize on being a KOTOR mmo, the game now just feels like a WoW in space. never wanted to say that. never. But I had too.....

I've loved this game, but im tired of waiting. I've been waiting six years and you expect me to wait another three weeks for content thats already in the game, but you're "trying" to hype us before you put it in live? Im tired, but your hype is done with, One of the most popular pvp servers the crucible pits is dead. At launch there was 298 people in the fleet, in beta there was 498 people on Dromund Kas, now it's absolutely dead with 25 people during peak, and this is the same for most servers.
I liked you, but now I can see why fans have turned on you, because you waste peoples time.
-
Do not even listen to this guy.
That server is a pretty dead one lol.
Ajunta pall is pretty decent was the only west coast server at very heavy last night..
Stay away from the harbringer and the swiftsure they are dieing rapidly atm due to aussies leaving the servers. Even more so when they are allowed to transfer.
You kidding me? I play on The Crucible pits and there is about 80-100 people on the republic fleet at 8pm Western with 300 people on the imp fleet

When you upgrade you'll notice the game looks alot better than 8 years old
"Upgrade" haha
My rig runs BF3 64 people battles, exploding buildings and way more intense graphics at 90 fps, while it runs SWTOR 16 player battles at 20. Most definetly bad coding.
-
It's most definetly bad coding, you shouldn't need to have an I5 to run a game that looks 8 years old and uses dx9

1> A population imbalance buff mechanic.
2> Objective based control points that are meaningful and lasting, and mechanics supporting tactical reasons to fight in more than one place simultaneously.
3> Removal of "kill credit" quests.
4> "Bonus" valor system revamp...the "bonus" shouldn't excede the base amount by an order of magnitude.
5> A game engine that can support large scale combat...i.e. more than 100 people in a zone, and more than 40 people being able to engage without massive latency and performance degradation.
6> Proper rez circle mechanics...currently the turrets dont' fire on opponents reliably, AND the stupid jump down heal yourself is way past old...this game exists in a universe with force shields why not just have an area safely surrounded with insta kill guns and forceshields to prevent getting inside?
7> A reset on ALL gained valor...lets face it, there are a LOT of players who haven't earned a point sitting in zerg piles every day just spamming their class buff for tens and hundreds of thousands of valor.
These are really general...I'm sure I could list 50 if I got into specific ideas. But you can get the point from this.
Basically the end result should be a zone in which large scale fighting is not just zerg on zerg point farms, where it's tactically meaningful. A zone where small scale and solo players CAN and are incentivized to seek out others with tactical purpose and rewards. A zone where all risk/reward analysis has been done providing a well balanced cost/benefit play opportunity for multiple playstyles and group sizes.
Basically a zone that is optimized for open PvP with a reward structure that encourages good competative play.
What you said, but we shouldn't have to tell BioWare this, we aren't the developers, they are, we are the consumers.
-
My title says it all, straight from the start the area was designed dreadfully, I think BioWare should just scratch Ilum all together and create a new OWpvp zone thats more resource based and objective based.
-
If you want to play wow then go play wow. I'm always baffled at why people play other mmos and just request all the features wow has.
Yes, because your false perception of assuming stuff based of "WoW" has been blinded when you're playing a game almost exactly like WoW, i'm the one whom is baffled.
To the OP, they haven't really made a response of Arena, but if they're gonna continue making world PvP as bad as it is, I'm up to grabs on Arena.
-
I play with 953 latency, stop the qq
-
Wouldn't it be cool if we could have a flashback like we were there in the sacking of coruscant and have a PvP warzone as a reinactment of it?
-
O yeah. I meant it in the sense of mesmerizing in a profoundly disturbing way. A mix of wonder, beauty and disgust.
lol...
-
So hilarious, remeber the episode from this show (dont know the name of it)

Done: I just created a: "THIZ GAM IZ FPHAIL" thread and stated why I uninstalled it. Obviously it'll have a great effect on the Devs and community.
Read....it, I can not tell you how much it bothers me how I post a constructive thread and people flame saying I quit,
-
Thanks! Now understand you are posting this crap on the wrong forums.
Thanks! Now you are realizing you are a fanboy who didn't read the post!
-
I thought this was a coming of age thread about moving to a new State and losing a best friend...
It's called an introduction, now read the body, and now read the conclusion, congratulations, you've learned how to read a story!
-
It has no story because it is a sandbox. Even Wurm is better and I didn't care for Wurm either. There are better sandboxes out there, or still in development.
I know this, my thread here is not saying Minecraft is better for sandbox aspects. If you read my TD;LR Minecraft is better at being a mutiplayer game for having creative aspects, and being fun. SWTOR put the grind in, and put endgame in, in a manner that's not fun.
Social Hub should be on ground.
