  1. Cause it's gonna cost ya. Yes, Bootcamp does allow you to run Windows programs. That's how I play the game...and i spent an extra $120 just for the privilege.

Right now a large number of players use Macs running Bootcamp, and they spent $100-$180 for the chance to play this game.

Some of us really love this game. We'd love to get some of our friends and family members to play...but they use Macs to.

Every time you say, as Daniel Erickson did during the Guild Summit Livestream, that "Bootcamp works just fine," while discussing making this game accessible to as many systems as possible is "you bought an expensive computer that can run this game like a champ....clearly you can afford another $100, and therefore you are not a priority market for us. On the other hand, letting your grandmother run it on her 10 year old PC is an important demographic."

I realize that creating a client for another system is harder than optimization for one system, but being so dismissive of a decent chunk of the population is not helpful, nor does it engender goodwill in the customers who did pay an extra $100-$180 just to play your game.

There is another MMO company out there (you may have heard of them...they dominate the industry) who has done near simultaneous releases since 1996 with the second of the franchise that launched the most successful MMO ever...and that MMO was also launched for both Windows and Mac simultaneously.

I understand if your answer is "not soon." It's a technical hurdle and you didn't build for it from the start (though you probably should have). However, saying "if you want to play it, go drop an extra hundred bucks for you, your spouse, and everyone else you know who you want to get into the game and happens to be Mac people" is quite insulting to hear.

The same company who launched this "mmo" you speak of, didn't launch it for the mac untill way after launch.

  2. Lets see:

    1. Would halt all updates and expansion development.

    2. Would require them to recode everything.

    3. Convert every texture, terrain, entity, build, mesh, etc. in the whole game

    4. Would have to redo the cinematics

    5. And it would cost more money to buy the engines license.

Yup, you're looking at another 4 years with around $60 million dollars.

  3. It's really dumb imho, that BioWare didn't build on Coruscant as a social hub, such a ICONIC place, a place I've wanted to really see shine since KOTOR (2003). I mean, I find it so amusing they didn't add things to attract players too Coruscant, instead, they made the central place for the galaxy Republic #2039. I mean, Coruscant is the prime of people in Star Wars, and I can see so much things done with it.

I mean, look at the fleet, it is simple, it's round, and it's a completely rip off on each sides. Please don't bring excuses that they're looking into it, because close too three months after launch, it should've been implemented. Don't bring up "WoW did this or that BOLT" well, WoW is using older technology, not to mention they had much smalled funds at the time, and I'm not looking at what WoW did, I don't care about WoW, I care about what SWTOR does.

Using a non offensive term, The Goodguys of the forums, please don't take this as bashing, this is just a constructive thread, and the Badguys of the forums, please don't encourage bashing in this thread, thanks :)

  4. at launch all servers were FULL and heavy,it is not there fault and when BW increased the server cap it all changed to light and standard/heavy/very heavy/full. please research before you post. Also just because your server is fine does not mean other are good to.

Really? Research, why must I do that when I was there. I rolled on a Server that was heavy at launch, now it is Standard because they increased the cap. Does that mean I didn't do research? No, I'm saying it's what might happened. and FYI I was here since early access and even since launch the "newer" servers at the time where Medium, most people moved off them because they wanted to play on the high population servers at the time, hence why they're low now.

Is it BioWare's fault? No, they clearly stated that they would limit people during early access, however, it is there game and they should take complete action now, they SHOULD do a small server merge, not a massive.

My thread is not to discuss servers that where low since launch, if they were low since launch then they are not dropping, and if they changed since launch they are not dropping, they've dropped, but not dropping. Just part of server migration.

  5. Neat observation....it changes nothing.

BW needs to axe half the NA servers...it's getting lonely out there. I've got 10 days left on my account. I'll check back in on SWTOR this summer.

24% of the servers are low, it shouldnt be a high priorty

They need to fix it but not before a lot of other things.

  6. lol@200+ during prime time....i guess youre lucky to be on one of the few servers that actually hit that level! My main is on a server that never goes above 40 in fleet during prime time. My alts are on a server that consistently had the highest wait queues at launch...now the server is lucky to break a 100 at prime time.

I 100% agree with you. Most people migrated to Empire side which I saw consistent on my friends server, however, the population did not drop because of this, did the people in your faction? yeah.

Mind I play on a Republic Standard server, I was lucky because my server has a guild which is very popular on Youtube, which explains why my faction and the empire are pretty equal.

  7. "It's not happening to me, so it CAN'T be happening to anyone else!"

Thats ironic, mention the population from the record footage.

And the only excuse I hear from people claiming the game is dying use the same philosiphy "If my server is standard (which is not dying I mind you) then this game is dying!!!"

  8. They didn't say they were ready to release it now. They previously said March, but I believe the devs said during the Summit that it may be pushed back to April.

So you see, it isn't ready to go right now.

They said at the guild summit (if you watched the presentation) that the patch would be ready by early april.

  9. Just because there are "assets" present in the game data files even during beta, doesn't mean they are fully funtional and working correctly.

If they were, then they would have been in at launch. But they weren't. Think about that.

And if someone thinks that MMO dev companies don't just happen to release notable game updates just before the competition does something like launch a new game, then they are very naive.

Do you honestly think that SWTOR has nothing to fear from the competition as a whole? Really?

They didn't release it at launch because they were still tweaking it. They've already said at the Guild Summit that they were afraid to release the "Legacy" patch because it was so massive that they wanted to release it when they felt it was ready, they said they are ready to release it now.

  10. I doubt it. There's just too much in this patch that can cause it's launch date to be pushed back. I'd be surprised if we didn't see it until the end of April.

Just before Tera goes live on the 1st May.

They've had the content in the game since beta! Everything was already datamined in the Beta by Betacake!! So I really doubt they would delay it after they already delayed it (was supposed to come out in the middle of March) AND the thing was in the game.

So no, I think you're wrong, and I doubt it has anything to due with Tera, Tera is a action mmo, which is a totally different audience then SWTOR, and even if some people did move from SWTOR to there, im sure a patch wouldn't change their mind, and it will only be a small number around 2%

  11. I love the game, but with everything done for endgame, and nothing to do but reroll, I would like to know if there would be more Dialog choices or quest for people rerolling. My idea is legacy quest

I HATE having to do the same exact quest over and over again, if they had quest for people with specific legacy level on each planet, I think it would encourage people to reroll.
