  1. The Guardian, Juggernaut, Sentinel, Marauder, Sage and Sorcerer all have the option of choosing to use a non-lightsaber weapon without making their class unplayable. Jedi Shadows and Sith Assassins cannot use electrostaves, and it has been bothering me for a while. Is there a possibility that weapon types for this class (and maybe others) will be opened up in the future? I'd love to be able to use a single lightsaber, or an electrostaff.
  2. Jedi Guardians, Jedi Sentinels, and Jedi Sages have the option of using non-lightsaber weaponry. Jedi Shadows cannot equip electrostaves without severely hindering their abilities! Was this intended? Why no love for staff-type non-lightsaber weapons?
  3. A lot of people are curious or concerned about specific details of confirmed upcoming features (1.3 or otherwise) that could make or break the features in the eyes of many. When you give us the ability to put hoods up and down, will the hood still be visible on the robe in the "down" position like it is on the Aspiring Knight's Vest? Being simply hidden instead of visibly down will break this feature for a lot of heartbroken roleplayers.
  4. Will there be any big changes to speeders in game updates in the near future? I find the experience of DRIVING a speeder to be a little lackluster. Graphically and practically, they need a revamp. First of all, for what they are they are very slow. Don't the mounts move a lot faster than ours in that OTHER game? Speeders need to be able to hover properly over top of water. And nothing is more annoying than having to stop and change out which speeder is on your hotbar when you're driving around with people who don't have as high a level of speeder than you. It would be nice if a high-rank speeder could "gear down" to drive at the same speed as a slower speeder.
  5. I would actually like to see this happen. Dromund Kaas and Coruscant becoming the hub of interaction as opposed to fleet. It would be a new area on Coruscant available by taxi, so that it doesn't disturb the the low-level people questing. And it could have it's own segmented general chat, again, so it doesn't bother the questers. And vice-versa. Right now, the only reason I have to set foot on Coruscant is the Legacy vendors. That's it. Period. And it's sad. EDIT: Instead, even, of having it in the same "world", it could be an option when landing on Coruscant, whether you want to go to the Senate Tower (normal questing), or the Base of Operations.
  6. Updated to reflect changes and updates in patch 1.2! If there's something I've missed that was fixed, let me know!
  7. Hi everybody! Having played the game to cap (my main has been Lv50 for a while now) I've made a lot of observations along the way, and come up with a lot of ideas that might make things better. I've divided the list into three categories. The first one is very important things. Items in this category shouldn't have made it out of beta. The second category is things that should probably be addressed at some point soon. The third is a wishlist of things that I would like to see in the game, or things that I feel would make the game better. And here are the lists! Note that only the category matters and, beyond that, items are not listed in any particular order of priority. My main character is a Knight, so some of these will be Knight-specific. Others will not. ---------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT FIXES! ---------------------------------------------- Ability Animations/Poses Get Stuck On On my Knight, I've noticed this most with Force Stasis. I have the ability in the defense tree that turns it into an instant ability, and sometimes my character gets stuck in the pose as if they are constantly channeling it. I've noticed it on other abilities as well such as the Sith Inquisitor's Force Lightning being stuck on, and the Bounty Hunter's Unload ability. Another one I recently discovered with a friend of mine is a Sage ability that makes them hold up their hands in the air. Usually that one only lingers for a moment, but it can get stuck on, and it looks very silly. ------------------------------------------------------------ SHOULD BE ADDRESSED ------------------------------------------------------------ Weapons Cannot Be Put Away After Combat Until You Stand Still This is a small issue, but I notice it a LOT and it drives me crazy. I'll finish combat, and I'll be running away from the area I was fighting in, but my lightsaber will not deactivate. I'll hit Z and it STILL won't deactivate. It won't turn off until I stop moving. It's REALLY annoying! NPC Ambient Dialogue Fades Out, And Then Comes Back Full Blast When You Should Be Out Of Earshot This is something that constantly irritates me. I'll be walking around Coruscant, and I'll walk by that couple talking about how Coruscant is different than Tatooine. I'll walk past them, and the conversation will fade. Then once I get far enough away, I'll be hearing them again finishing their conversation at volumes normally reserved for movie theatre sound systems. Emotes That Should Obviously Have Actions Associated With Them... Don't A good example is /meditate. If I type /meditate, I want my character to get down on their knees and meditate until I cancel the emote. Speeder And Taxi Sounds Should Not Drop Out For No Apparent Reason I notice it on places like Hoth (just one example of many where it happens), when the taxis duck into the little bunkers and come out the other side. Sometimes (not all the time!) the sound effects for the speeders will cut out. I've also experienced this on Tatooine and Balmorra. It's not just limited to taxi's though. Player-controlled speeders have their sound effects drop out or not start at all. Some Conversations Have No Sound For Their Dialogue An example is the Belsavis Lv50 Daily Quest where you go take out Elshuu. Parts of the conversation have sound, and parts are silent. Weapons Should Properly Get The Stealth Effect With The Rest Of The Character Model I noticed this primarily on my Jedi Shadow. I'd enter stealth, but the lightsaber on my belt, and Qyzen's techblade on his back would just be floating in mid-air. The weapons didn't get the stealth effect unless they were drawn at the time of entering stealth. For The Jedi Shadow/Sith Assassin, Lightsaber Should Not Activate In Stealth For A Fight Until Stealth Is Broken So I'm approaching a group of enemies in stealth, on my shadow, and my friend shoots something. My lightsaber activates. While I'm in stealth. Kind of dumb. Companions Should Put Their Weapons Away Any Time The Player Character's Weapon Is Not Drawn Drives me crazy that my companion can be running around behind me with their weapon out even though we're not in combat. Any time the player's weapon is away, the companion's weapon should be put away, and vice-versa too! If I draw my weapon, my companion should make-ready as well! Player-Controlled Speeders Need A BIG Revamp There's a great deal of things wrong with speeders right now. I avoid using speeders where my character is sitting down because their cloaks clip down through the speeder. That's kind of sloppy, and it's not very attractive from a graphics standpoint. And it's a shame, because there's only a couple of the STAP-style speeders that I actually like. I find the experience of DRIVING a speeder to be a little lackluster. First of all, for what they are they are very slow. Instead of 90%/100%/110% for movement speed increases, it should be something like 100%/125%/150% AT LEAST! Don't the mounts move a lot faster than ours in that OTHER game? Also, there's gotta be a way to get a little more HEIGHT out of them while driving too. Having to hug the ground so closely is kind of inaccurate compared to what we've seen in the movies. Speeders need to be able to hover properly over top of water. If the body of water is deep enough, the speeder sinks into it. That should just not happen. The repulsorlifts should keep it hovering neatly on the surface of any body of water. Nothing is more annoying than having to stop and change out which speeder is on your hotbar when you're driving around with people who don't have as high a level of speeder than you. Tier 2 speeders should be able to change gears back down to Tier 1 speed. And Tier 3 should be able to gear down to 2 or 1. That way you don't have to change out your ride every time you group up with someone that isn't your level. ------------------------- WISHLIST ------------------------- - Mentoring/Reverse Bolstering System for playing high-level characters with low-level friends, eliminating the penalty to their experience, and allowing friends to play together even if one progresses much faster than the other. - Allow us to name our pets. I'd like to be able to name companions as well, but I realize they are referenced by name in the story quests. But pets aren't referenced by anything, and I'd love to be able to name them. - Pazaak. - Lightsabers should cast a LOT more ambient light around the player. - ALL furniture interactable (especially chairs, but the beds would be nice too). - Blaster bolt REFLECTION (as opposed to deflection) for lightsabers. Maybe on a critical deflection roll it could fly back at the attacker for a marginal amount of damage? - Speeder-free zones by bank terminals and GTN. It gets crowded and irritating when a bunch of people are just idling around on their speeders! - More nameplate filters, such as friends/party/guild-only instead of just "friendly players". That way you only see the people you want to see and your screen is less cluttered. - Social gear for friendly factions such as House Organa, as opposed to House Thul (as an example) - Fix the out-of-sync animations for riding the thrantas on Alderaan - Looping "/practice" emote, where the Jedi goes through lightsaber movements (with or without the weapon drawn). It should have appropriate sound effects for lightsaber movements when the saber is drawn.
  8. Very rarely in the movies has a light-aligned Jedi ever fought with his/her hood up. You mentioned the hue matching options coming for armour in 1.2, and hinted about other customization choices, but I still have to ask because this saddens a lot of people. Are we going to be able to put our hoods down? (as in visibly down and laying against the back of the armour, not just invisible hoods)
  9. It's not like I don't want to hear him. I think he's awesome. I just wish the trigger zone for making him talk was a little smaller.
  10. Let me preface this by saying that I actually like C2-N2. I think he's funny, and he reminds me of Threepio, which I think is the point. But seriously. On my Jedi Knight, I've taken to running out of my bridge and jumping over the railing to get to the door on the way out, just because I don't wanna hear him talk again when I run to the top of the staircase. The radius inside which he decides to speak to you should be decreased. A lot. If I pass through the door he's standing near. Sure. But not when I'm 13-15 metres away. He's grating on me, and I don't want to hate him.
  11. I know what phasing is. This game is full of it. But BioWare made an effort to keep phases small, and to keep the biggest open areas public. I haven't been to the planet you're talking about, but I'm assuming this is something that this is some large feature of the environment that you blew up or turned off or whatever. Unless you want to walk around in your own private instance, they can't make drastic changes to the environment like that. Even if they CAN. And let's say they could. This game has only been out for two weeks. I think your rage is a little premature. Give them a chance to fix BUGS and EXPLOITS and things that break the game before dealing with your damaged ego on account of your dead thing not staying dead.
  12. So... wait. Let me get this straight. You completed the story for a certain planet. And you want your outcome to be permanent forever. What if someone else wants to complete that mission line? Are you saying missions need to be first come, first served? So If I level faster than everyone else, on my Jedi Knight, and beat the last boss of the Jedi Knight story, he should be dead for everyone because I killed him? This isn't a single-player game. If you want to play a game where one person can change the entire game world for the rest of the game population, go play EVE or something. It's fun, and your actions make a difference. One big sandbox. But the nature of an MMO like this, where everyone has the chance to go through the same storylines... you can't do that. It doesn't work. Everyone needs a chance to play the same content and achieve their own results.
