  1. The list of things wrong with this game is so long, so complex, so game-breaking, that I think that the game can only be described as amateur.

From running along and getting stuck on blades of grass, to the terrible delay in using abilities, this game reminds me of the 90s when we were playing on 56k modems on 128bit machines with 200mb of RAM and thinking our systems were awesome.

I thought we had moved on from this sort of rubbish, I thought that games like WoW and Rift had moved the goalposts so that future developers had to try harder.

Not rehash the same problems of 20 years ago and expect the players to accept it.

Is it really just simply a matter of slapping the Star Wars logo on something mediocre at best and making a profit?

I won't go into the individual problems, we all know them, them appear in PvE and PvP, and I am sure if I listed them someone will only argue that it either doesn't exist or when shown that Bioware already accept that it exists that since it will be fixed soon that somehow justifies the fact that it is exists now.

I expected better from Bioware and I expect better from an MMORPG in 2012.

You mean the 90's the Area in which the majority of games where tottaly awesome depite the lack of technology...

  2. i remember before playing the game how i had planned on rolling every class 100% for the story aspect. I'll tell you one thing - you can throw that 8 x 200 hour idea out the window for rolling alts - you couldn't pay me to work my way through some of these zones more than maybe 2 times. Good grief.

Bioware y u give to much content!!!

  3. So when do I get my "I'm a special snowflake because I rolled Republic bonus"?

Or should we all just Reroll empire and wait for hours for that 1 republic player to show up to reset our objective after which we jump him with 20 guys?

    Just wondering...

  4. Anchorhead server here. Empire level 50 premades dominate our server. Unless you're going to disable premades somehow, having a level 50 only bracket is going to absolutely ruin the republic side.

It's so bad right now, many players are leaving premades vs certain guilds because it's just no fun getting curbstomped vs a premade.

Please consider removing premades from pvp.

Get some ppl to play with, get a premade. Problem solved...

But ofc bioware is going to ruin the experience of thousands of people playing together just so that you can team up against randoms. I mean its not like is a multiplayer game or something >.>

  5. Because otherwise, healers would be too strong. This is probably the dumbest question I've seen since release. The avg. intelligence level of the players in this forum is astonishing but this one takes the prize.

Yeah because its not like with Guard, Taunt, Guardian leap and Challenge and the odd CC trown around you could reduce the damage a healer is taking by enough to make him unkillable with the 30% debuff, now imagine without.

Just because your tank sucks doesn't mean that other healers should become godlike because of it...

  6. You know the story if you play WoW, if you dont, i'll fill you in.

The Speculation of the Bad guys Horde, Empire etc, are mainly played by Adults. And Kids being the Opposite. Some say its one of the main reasons the Empire mostly win in pvp. But i just thought, any age play what ever speaks to their personality or likes, whatever that means.

But this statement from my mate made me laugh because he transfered to the Republic, and he complains about loosing all the time on the republic side pvp. Anyway he said this "The only Reason the empire win all the time is because most of the empire players are kids and they just speed level up to 50 and not taking an intrest in the story!" I just sat back and said, "Bull$!$%, if i was to say anything it would be the republic side who have the most Kids on their side, thats why you cant win, but i know some 25 year old on the republic side, because they wanted to be a Trooper, and i know another one on the Empire. Dude, people just play who they want to. Oh, but being on the republic will mean you will loose loads mate! FACT"

My point being, is it the same as World of Warcraft where MOST adults go towards the evil path, or in the old republic's case is it that the adults go towards the Lighter side? Or is it a balanced mix of the two?

Just your opinion, i know its just silly opinion thread, but i think it would be interesting to discuss everyone elses point of views.

You dont have to be harsh, all i was wondering was your thoughts.

    tl;dr

    TROLL!!!!

  7. the state of pvp is t e rr i b le, currently it is a "wanna-be" wow clone which bioware couldnt even seem to get right even after they get spoon fed ideas from other companys.. Its like yo momma doing your homework and coming home with nothing but an a

i myself wont be re-subing after my time runs up

may this pos game be with you

  8. Im not saying SWTOR is a terrible game, I just think its average.

Like LOTRO, a huge ip but crappy game play. And SWG was crappy too with old a%@ graphics.

I was reading another thread saying how TOR's hero engine is cheap and *****ty. And TOR is doomed because of it. You know I had high hopes for this game. I thought I was going to play this game for a long time, but looks like I'm not.

When will there be a company that gets it all right? I think it maybe Blizzards next mmo. Im no fan of blizz or bw, but I think Blizzard is far superior to bw.

BioWare takes the lazy way out when they make their games with all the pretty painted back drops you can never go to and so many loading screens. You spend nearly half your playing time watching a loading screen.

You saw Episode I, II and III mate?

  9. Bioware,

Please allow us to have a gearscore-alike addon. I don't care if it's 3rd party or not.

Right now there is simply NO way to know if another player has skill or not. Adding a simple gearscore sort of thing would fix alot of issues with grouping and I'm not even 50 yet.

What's gonna happen once I enter end-game content? Wipe over and over until I found a good bunch of skilled players? That would take ages.

So please, allow us to have Gearscore or something, to fasten the process to detect skilled players. It's not even a matter of EZ-mode, just saves time. And in the long run, it will save you from a mass exodus of people unsubbing.

    Thank you.

EDIT: I'm sorry if I sound elitist, but if you take gaming serious and want to be best of the best in every game you need a minimum of skilltesting without wasting time on talking/grouping/inspecting. I'm sorry if so many if you are offended. I like it pro. Deal with it.

    Fail troll is Fail...

  10. All they would have to do is discuss using the upcoming Frostbite 2 engine...(converse with DICE, another EA based developer)...and then work in an mmo from there. Would be so epic...instead...cartoon star wars that plays like WoW. Such potential wasted.

Yeah and then 2 years down the road people would be like:

All they would have to do is discuss using the upcoming Frostbite 3 engine...(converse with DICE, another EA based developer)...and then work in an mmo from there. Would be so epic...instead...cartoon star wars that plays like WoW. Such potential wasted.

  11. It feels almost dead on my full pop server, because the reason it is full pop is because of the sith, not the republic players.

There needs to be a hard cap for factions so that the server remains balanced.

Or lock character creation for imperials if they are 10% above that of republic players on the server.

Here are some good quotes from inside this thread.

Yeah because its not like ppl want to play with friends or anything...

  12. The last 5 random groups i have gotten into have some guy rolling need on krap he cant use but his "companions" can so he needs it, then a huge fight breaks out, the group splits up game over.

The loot system needs to be addressed, people who use heavy armor should be the only ones who can roll need on it, the same for medium, light and weapons.

It's getting out of hand, the companion system is just dumb it has George Lucas written all over it,

A stoppid npc with bad ai does not enhance my game experience, it's a frickin Massive Multiplayer Game.

if you want a healer you just find a REAL PERSON to heal, or to tank, why not just make a game where only 1 guy can play on a server then everyone else is a npc with ai and you can charge them 15 bucks a month to play it, yeah thats over the edge but this is just ruining the fun.

and you can say just "get into a guild" but you can't always run things with just guild members and you cant even guarantee a guild member will not pull this bull krap.

GEORGE LUCAS needs to get the hell out of the designing of this game, and go make movies, I bet George is the reason we cant play wookies or driods in this game.

fix the dam loot system, who care if one quest in the level 50 zone dont work, 100% of your people are trying to have fun in groups

tl;dr but you must still want Dungeon finder right?

  13. Depends on overhead, expected return by EA, investor expectations, etc.

There's more to it than making 1 penny of net income.

I'm not saying the game will fail, but some bean counter somewhere in EA may say "Hey, that $$/year we are making vs the XXX headcount we have associated with it would better be used over there where we can make $$+1/year with XXX-1 headcount.

There's ZERO emotion in business. It's all about efficient returns. Just because STO (or EVE) can survive with tiny numbers doesn't mean SWTOR could.

The problem with star wars is that its not EAs IP, so when they stay swtor doesnt make enough money where going to pull the plug/ put it on maintenance mode. Mr Lucas might just pull in the rights to the starwars IP losing EA much money in potential other star wars games
