  1. Before someone takes a condescending tone about "play a fps " perhaps they should take a moment to realize that warzones/battlegrounds/ etc. are the result of a mmo company copying a fps model. I don't do mmo's to develope a character, I do them for fun. I don't want to translate my consumerist, grindy real life into my entertainment space. I don't even understand why people like crafting. " hey want to go on an epic adventure?" " nah...I'd rather harvest nodes." Seriously I think a study on this needs to be done. Why do some people consider consumerism and materialistic practices fun? I grind for a month so I can upgrade my 'green' refrigerator to a 'purple' one, why would I want to do that here if there isn't something entertaining to go along with the grind. Pvp in warzones should be gearless to make it more competitive. Pvp in open world should not be. Hell they should just do away with warzones period lets face it. A game with this model is hurt by warzones. No warzones and more contested areas. If a 50 wants to pvp on alderaan, bump them down to the Max acceptable level and let them have at it. Why would they do that? Because the map and gameplay is fun. If its fun they'll play it. Fun should be the goal. Pvp in games like SWTOR, if it is to provide gear, should reward currency that's spent to purchase raid gear. And that should be random just like it is for the raiders. The game needs leadership and it needs it fast. The pvp servers hold a lot of people and the pvp crowd. ( as a whole ) is just itching to see what 'the secret world' and guild wars 2 have to offer. That's not good for pve players as the pvp players dont ask for as much content as they do. If the pvp crowd ditches for other games that's less in the budget for new pve content. Thats who I am as a customer. My plan is to use this game as a stop-gap until the secret world comes out. It has until then to charm me. I think if it did that'd be fine, I appreciate the scope BW is attempting. So I'm just trying to help
  2. /signed Try to remember biowre you run a big risk if you don't make the pvp'ers happy by April. That's a lot of dough to lose
  3. Pvp server subscriptions will take a noticeable decline in April. They may or may not return but that will be the first major spike if the pvp crowd isn't satiated before then. That's their timeline for nailing pvp down. I'm sure the same event affects pve but I doubt to the same degree. I'd say the other product t has the advantage with 3 faction pvp and access to all skills. Hard work and some innovative thinking from bioware and/or a bad launch by the other could swing the pendulum the other way however.
  4. I'm not sure why this worries the OP. everyone knows there is no joy in a pvp experience without having some widget to work towards. I mean look at counter-strike that game hardly lasted at all. No one played team fortress 2 until they added the extra weapons. Why even add the 50's bracket? Hey if those lower level losers don't want to sacrifice the most amount of their free-time to compete that's their problem. Those maxed out players EARNED that gear, and the RIGHT to mop the floor with everyone. I don't want a rewarding experience I want a reward. Because I'm just a consumer like everyone else and I'm not able to transition out of that mentality when I'm on my free-time. I'd much rather spend that free time working for Widgets and grinding away for gear in an ironic microcosm akin to my real life where I grind away at ' new car ' or upgrading my green lawnmower to a purple one. Don't waste my time creating new maps with fantastic locations ( unless of course you create a new currency to go with it so I get to increase my grind ) and give me more *things*. The last thing I want is a fight on equal terms unless its with people of the same class as I, because they earned it. /off
  5. Remove the cooldown from sundering strike Adjust the debuff number against the removed cooldown Adjust skill tree accordingly Remove slash from the game. If you're feeling fruity retain the slash animation and put it 50/50 against sundering strikes to retain variety Thank you
  6. People wouldnt want macros if the combat abilities didn't overlap so much (I.e. sunder strike and slash). If someone doesn't like macros in their game then don't create a system that asks for it. You know what, some people prefer to watch the action and not ability bars. Razer (perhaps others) already has plenty of products to macro with. So you might as well put you customers with less disposable income on the same level. Macro'ing is great for roleplayers so they can string together some fun chat stuff. ----------- Dear bioware, if you are going to implement macros then for all that's holy please be sure to disable ability failure messages. You know what just steal RIFTs ui system. Its pretty damn slick
  7. I think I would like a chat channel for friends. not all your friends are in your guild. I wouldn't mind a /friend (or /f) chat function. I think that'd be pretty slick. anyone else?
  8. Would it be fair if instead of having to turn guard off, then turn guard onto another person that we could just swap the bubble to the new target instead? I would appreciate a change like that for pvp.
  9. Being a tank is something I haven't done since EQ so its been a learning process. I'm 31 defense spec. My dichotomy is that I presume guardian/defense is a tank spec that desires the opponent to attack me However I seem to function best when noone is attacking me due to taunts. If people aren't attacking me however I don't generate much focus due to soresu. So its a little weird. I also fnd that guarding the healer in pubs is not the way to start the fight. Whoever's in front is best. I have to keep guard floating to who's losing health and currently under duress. The lack of pommel strike is a bummer. I just got hilt strike so that's nice and looking forward to guardian leap. I am enjoying the learning experience ( played warlock in rift which is akin to madness sorc) and looking forward to 50.
  10. The guardian AC will probably never be on equal DPS terms and it should not as long as guard and the taunts are core abilities. For those who desire DPS from a single lightsabre I suggest forming a movement to make guard and the taunts tree abilities. Why should you be able to put out tip DPS while negating %30 of the enemies?
  11. I am not an angry pre-order customer. What I don't understand however is this : if you know how many pre-orders you have, and you have a target population for each server, why not have launched with enough servers to accommodate half the target spread out evenly amongst the pre-orders? Then allow them to fill up to cap during the actual launch, adding servers as needed. This would permit all customers to have access and place any queue-times in the lap of the customer as they are the ones who select which server they roll on. Just wondering. Good luck everyone
