    Ode to the Sorc

    seems alot of people is fussing over the Sorc class. truly this is a tough subject to dwell on with improvements. let the old man give it a shot. 1st off the utilities available to sorcs is a lil way over the top. the synergy with there utilities. easy way to fix it put some of those utilities into 1 spec. meaning you must take lightning spec if you want the benefit of those utilities only. let breakdown each spec and see what common ground can be reached. Madness as the name implies this spec is to cause chaos on the field. it is a mobile spec with instant dots and good self heals. good madness sorcs is always on the move not staying in 1 place. basically u can spam dots and then deathfield a group of people. for madness spec take away the mezz bubble..give them instant whirlwind and 30 meter electrocute..that is enough to keep people off of them.also allow melee classes to put pressure on sorc and make them actually play to survive. right now madness sorc can basically choose there fight. if ops open up they gonna eat a mezz same for any melee giving them time to kite away and spam the dots. truly the damage from madness is actually fair in terms of gameplay..just the utilities is what break the class overall. in a 8 vs 8 wz you can deal with a dps sorc. in 4 vs 4 if the sorc any good team with other sorcs you can kiss it good bye.. lastly take away the utility for there bubble to heal them constantly in madness spec for 2% of there HP . actually i use this on my madness sorc, from dots healing me, self heals, bubble heals and force leech i can keep myself up for a very long time. also take away the 5 second root they get from there knock back from utility. lightning spec sorcs. lightning is the friendliest and forgiving spec for sorcs. backpeddlers and mouse clickers can stay in 1 spot and spam if left alone..the damage have to be good in this spec since you have to stand still to cast most of your skills. give the bubble mezz to lightning sorc and the 5 second root on there knock back. this will let lightning sorc play the way how it was in the beginning. healing sorcs this is a touchy subject. sorc healer spec is essential for pve and pvp..easiest way to do this would be make there skill effect different in pvp and pve scenarios. this won't happen so let brainstorm. give them the 2% self heal in force bubble. make there healing skills cost more force. to where they actually have to watch there gameplay to not run out of force quickly. main problem with sorc healers they have no penalties in the spec. they can dish out heals basically with no force management issues. this is what make sorcs the king of healers great benefits with no risk involved.. now phase walk need to go from sorc class. they will have enough tools in each spec to survive if they get under pressure without making them OP. enduring bastion and force bubble shield can stay. put it on a longer cooldown. it basically when a sorc have no other options to stay alive will they use it. now sorcs can use it casually to get the heat off of them. i'm pretty sure more things can be done to the class to optimize it game play. this was a few items on top of my mind that i wanted to put out there for people to see. if anybody have ideas or just want to speak there mind go ahead. let try to keep things civil and see if we all can come to a conclusion on the sorc.
  2. i got a bad habit of jumping when playing melee classes..like jump on my execute on target..or jump when i use vicious throw or dispatch.. the funniest thing to see is sages and sorcs backpaddling while jumping in the air like they have uber skill..those are the idiots i go for 1st to kill..same for commandos and mercs with the backpaddling jump..

    i can deal with sorcs at the moment..while we at it give maras back the old smash monkey spec and anni that gave us the 2% self heals..i will gladly fight a group of sorcs at 1 time.. sorcs can be described as generations i explain..1st generation is the ancestor..2nd is the inheritor..3rd is the strongest..4th to 8th is the weakest..the 9th generation is the pinnacle..right now we are facing the 9th generation sorcs and that's the pinnacle of there evolution..

    been a while since i made a post on game play..so i keep it short hopefully..wanna hit up on the sage and sorc class..so i start from the gut of the matter.. alot of people truly don't understand the DPS spec for sage and sorc..TK or lightning spec was made for the people who back peddles and mouse click there skills..meaning it's a class that don't need alot of moving around..you can sit in spot basically and spam your skills..unless you get focused but that's another story.. i'm not trying to call people baddies or anything but the basic concept of TK and lightning is for the people who doesn't use there mouse to move or keybind there skills..i can go on forever but i think everybody get the point.. now balance or madness spec that's more for the people who is on the move..you have mostly instant attacks so you can hit and run..making it hard for people to lock you down..the good players are hard to kill.. since i explained this part of the matter..now comes the discussion of this topic..since madness or balance is a mobile DPS spec..i feel TK throw and force lightning should be movable while casting..think about it since balance and madness require mobility then this situation is the best.. only do it for balance and not TK spec..sins and shadow can cast there's on the go..this isn't game breaking or OP..it will let the balance and madness spec play how it suppose to be..everything instant and casting on the move..never staying still..cause standing still casting TK throw and force lightning seem like a slap in the face to the spec.. that's all i gonna dwell on the matter..hopefully people see the bigger picture..feel free to comment and give your opinions but let keep it civil..if this thread was made already, sorry for the repeat..hopefully maybe someone from Bioware can chime in and give there opinion..
  5. deception 101:hit lacerate after you spike him to put your 5% damage buff on enemy..also using recklessness at start that can vary..some folks like me i use recklessness after i spike and lacerated you from stealth..u get 3 stacks of recklessness if u take talent..9-11k discharge crit gonna take one charge..8-10k ball lightning if your chain shock procs gonna consume the last 2 charges.. popping recklessness before attacking not very wise in my opinion..why go for the 7k spike crit when i can get my 12k ball ightning crit with chain shock effect..meaning 8000 damage + 4000 damage (chain shock proc)..then depending on the class i will pop force shroud and reset recklessnesss and burst them again..thats how i beat alot of people in going to cap nodes solo..

  7. agree with raansu..simple fact maras cant reset force leap..so it wont be broken..it will make fury rotation smoother..
  8. this look like a very good photo shop screen shot..bug or whatever lethality dont have anything that will hit over 10k even if the stars line up and the universe come into sync..on these forums alrdy seen people do crazy crap for attention..still call B.S..even if u combine certain skills and dots from this bug you not gonna reach 15k hitter on lethality spec..
  9. i agree with krea..lethality ops have no skill that can hit for 15k..even if someone have 0 expertise..i play the spec enough on my min/max dark reaver ops..besides on the screenshot u have your skill bar covered up so suspiciously..i give you 2/10 for the simple fact people who dont know any better will buy this story.. concealment 15k can be hit no doubt but it's rare and probably on somebody with 0 expertise..now i will buy some popcorn and let the fest begin..

  11. this is to Aetrus..dude you not getting it apparently..the spec now is trash..what they need to do is put back 2% self heal on crit..put rupture back to 12-15 seconds for dot duration...remove force rend all it does screw up your rotation..anni is fixed real simple.. see anni was made to be the best 1 vs 1 spec hands down..before 2.0 i could 3 vs 1 people and win..thats what we asking and with the lvl caps it is fair today..back then people didnt know how to counter anni maras and was getting wrecked..that what truly caused the nerfs.. Aetrus you probably haven't played a mara from the beginning of game..to people like that they wouldnt understand the point we is stressing on anni spec..still before 2.0 when anni was brutal a good concealment ops could beat them..they had a counter class..

  14. this made me laugh..whatever good stuff you smoking give me some please..since i dont pve i leave that topic alone..in a 1vs 1 mara vs jugg..jugg gonna win that fight they have way more goodies to outlast any mara..best mara have 4 to 6 seconds of 99% damage reduction and 6 second stealth.. jugg is the best control class in game..even if mara get lucky and burn jugg down he can enure + medpack and heal up...then he got another option to use enrage defense..even if you beating him down he can force push you to get you off of him...then he can mezz and force choke to keep control of the fight.. let see if i can put it in simpler terms..mara's have the dps to win a battle..juggs have the tools to win the war..meaning a mara wont burn a jugg down before he dies in a 1 vs 1..if the jugg know how to play his class..

  16. after focus burst you get the buff for 5% damage to all attacks.thats when i bust them with a concertrated slice..usually i get master strike full rotation in then hit concertrated slice...of course you get the dummies that root you building up your pool of hatred buff.. when you get your jugg fully dark reaver min/max u gonna knock people dic# in the dirt..

  18. focus spec work better than vigilance with all alacrity..cause you get a 15% surge bonus from spec..meaning you can stack all alacrity enhancements and augs..still be around 75%..honestly in a 1 vs 1 in my opinion of playing both specs ..players of equal skill focus spec will win the fight..especially running that much alacrity you gonna recycle the big hitters really quick.. if you compare concertrated slice which i critted up to 18k on 2018 expertise player and focus burst which can hit between 10-13k pretty sick especially with all alacrity..compared to vigilance overhead slash with you can probably crit 11k-13k if the stars line up correctly and plasma brand damage and dots can be shrug off..master strike if you sit and eat all of it from a vigilance guardian then you deserve it..
  19. 3+ years of reading forum posts from game balance to what kind of undies your wear at night..this i think is the best solution for the game.. scrap SWTOR ..work on making a SWTOR 2 with better game engine and experienced dev team..get rid of the jokers you have now by cleaning house..sure it might take a few years to develop but if the game is good i prefer the wait..at this point there is nothing that can be done to save game.. hoping they can do the game all over and make it right..we can type about everything wrong in the forums but unless the powers to be make a decision just wasted time typing..sure they had alot of dumb ideas made by people for class balance and truly the devs done right by ignoring it..on same note alot of good sound advice was giving and it was still ignored.. basically it's damn if you do and damn if you dont so i rather take the high road and like to see it done over..please discuss any comment or opinion but let try to keep things civil..
  20. guess we see things differently..i play a sin if i'm allowed to sap and heal 2 full in a 1 vs 1 fight i will win the duel against all classes besides operatives and other sins..sorcs have self heals as dps they can be killed and is a non stealth class..juggs enrage defense as a stealth player i can cloak out or sap them until it wear off.. the problem comes with operatives they can sap and have self heals..against a good ops you wont win a duel in a 1 vs 1 tourny..they can heal while dpsing and then if need be they stealth, sap you and heal 2 full..then you die after..this is what the tourny will turn into a sap fest.. i been in to many 1 vs 1 tournies where it turned into a stealth sap fest cause of the class mechanics..my prediction for this 1 vs 1 tourny..the final 2 classes to compete for the 1st prize will be stealth users..
  21. hope u make a prize for non stealth player that reach the highest ranking since mostly all stealth will apply for tournament..also make them not use grenades.lastly make it where sins and ops cant sap you and heal to full..if you dont make that rule sins and ops will never lose or it come down to who can sap last and heal up.. that worser than a jugg enrage defense in a 1 vs 1...it's your tourny you can do what whatever but to make it fair add these rules..

    change the topic around from nerfs and class imbalance..anybody that pvp mainly wz's we have to pay a fee to rip mods from gear to min/max..as my title say make the pvp mods free of cost to rip from pvp gear..somebody gonna say run dailies to make the money..true i can probably run 5 different planet dailes in under 2 hours and make about close to a mill credits.. by me doing dailies i'm being force to play the game that i pay monthly in a way i dont like..i prefer to pvp and not do pve like ops , raids and dailies..to rip all mods off 1 piece of gear to transfer to other gear set is like 30k + credits..pve players dont have it as bad since they make good amount of credits in there pve raids to offfset armor repair and cost of ripping mods.. my solution is either make pvp mods ripping free or make the credits we get from wz's more than what we get now..something have to give here..i don't like doing dailies or pve junk and that should be my choice as a paying customer for your game Bioware..this system cant be exploited since pvp mods have expertise so pve players cant take advantage with there gear.. hope if you devs might consider the thought and make things easier on pvp players..i know we are a minority to yall in this game but we pay and support Bioware like the pve community..this dont seem like a hard thing to implement in the game..probably make pvper's happy to a certain point..right now i take some goodness over the crap thats going down in pvp with classes and other drama.. players feel free to discuss or voice your opinion but let try to keep it civil..we had enough strife lately with forum discussions..
  23. to put it bluntly..give carnage back deadly throw..having to spend 2 points to get the same effect from crippling slash is whack..there was nothing wrong with the skill...that made carnage the spec it was before they removed it..everything else is ok with the class..this skill need to come back to make carnage effective as before.. whoever said maras had 3 saber throws and juggs have only 2 is ludicrous..well juggs can leap to you twice if running rage they can leap 3 times..so i feel both classes are equal so give maras back deadly throw..truly carnage dont feel the same with it gone.. devs you can save alot of time and headache putting back deadly throw to carnage skill bar..that is all what carnage needs no other kind of buff ..with deadly throw you didnt have any problems with sticking to target..cause crippling slash being used for deadly throw make carnage feel generic..
  24. actually i wasnt really trying that game it's reg star...i usually play those to test out rotations and other crap..well i dont use the double power..just idiots stack me with roots while i have gather strength passive..thats like 25% more damage on next melee attack..think it stacks 5 times not sure on the number have to look at toolbar.. usually i hit nothing under 13k with concertrated slice critting..focus / rage spec is clean..there nothing really left to chance..when you hit with your rotation it gonna do the job..with us getting unstoppable for all specs..it gonna get brutal..cuz in the few seconds i have immune to cc i can hit somebody with unstoppable burst almost.. for as my dps numbers i wasnt serious but i can hit way higher .. i'm not saying vigilance is a joke it's strong..i prefer focus /rage guess we all have our opinion..that 18k crit i only hit it one time..usually when the stars align right i crit around 15-17k damage easily..i have to check and see how much bonus damage pool of hatred or gather strength gives i'm pretty sure not accurate with those numbers..
