  1. Honestly, in general I've noticed a serious attitude problem with imps on Harb. They are pretty terrible at everything and when you offer suggestions they rage on you. PVP is a prime example of this. Utterly God awful, make the same mistakes over and over and when you say "hey guys, let's try this" they scream that you're a noob who isn't helping and to shut up. Arrogant and bad are a very rough combination. I switched to pub recently. The environment is sooooo much better and friendlier.
  2. I've played this game since launch off and on. From the beginning pvp was one of the most terribly executed things in an mmo I've ever seen. There is a reason this game has been nicknamed stun wars. I play a melee class, and playing a melee class you quickly realize how utterly incompetent the devs are. As melee EVERYTHING is designed to screw you over. I just played a match vs. a sorc and this person was able to root and stun me 6 times. You have one mobility debuff break which is useless because they have 6 or more stuns and roots. Bioware, are you completely clueless or just insane? I've played multiple mmos over the last 10 years and have never seen such nonsense in a game. The most any class is given is one root and one stun because any more and they are completely op and untouchable. It's like the devs went "oh! we don't know how to balance things so let's just make everyone WOW rogues! that'll be fun!" I couldn't even move or do anything the whole match. Resolve is useless, you have to let them stun you 3 times before it even goes into effect and by that time you're dead. It's like the devs don't even play their own game. I'm quitting for the 3rd time and the last time. Peace swtor, you suck. Congratulate you're incompetent dev team, they just lost another subscriber.
  3. I agree. On Harbinger as Imp, literally ever game is a pre-made pub with all players fully geared in Reaver. I won one game yesterday out of 25, and it's not because I'm bad. 1v1 against an equally geared pub I win at least half the time or more, it's just that it's always ALWAYS pre-mades with superior gear. This is easily fixed too. Simply make premades vs. premades, if you're grouped you go against other grouped only. this would solve the steamroll happening daily on my server. It's making me and many others want to quit. Losing 25 times in a row, with no prayer of contending is frustrating, not fun. There are so many problems with this game, and Bioware has failed to fix many of them. It's still stun wars. Literally every class has multiple chain stuns, and last time I checked losing control of your character and being able to do nothing while they get raped is not fun. Resolve does nothing, bolster does nothing. Leveling from 30-60 was one of the worst experiences of my life. This is why this game is dying. PVP in this game is nothing but an exercise in sadomasochism.
  4. Gaurd goes on the healer. Period, if you're having to gaurd a DPS they're a sh***ty DPS. If you pull aaggro unintentionally as a DPS you ease DPS. Doesn't matter if the tank sucks or not. Let them regain control. They can take more punishment than you and them getting hit requires the healer to heal less. Healer is more important than a DPS always. Healer goes down you all die. Healer gets attacked and their health drops too much, they have to spam themselves and can't heal anyone else. Then one guy dies. Then the tank dies. Then you all die. Seen it a million times. This guy seems like the type of person I was writing in the original post.
  5. I couldn't disagree with the first half of this more. Healers and tanks get blamed for everything when often it isn't their fault. This is natural though because they also hold the most responsibility for the success of the group as they are almost entirely responsible for keeping everyone alive. If you role a healer you learn this very quickly. Playing a tank or healer is the best way to really learn the dynamics of playing in a group. Especially as a healer. You're sitting back and watching everything in that role and can see everything going on. So when someone is f'ing up you can spot it very quickly.
  6. Yes, normally I do do that. This guy however wasn't nice. He immediately started trash talk acting like he was God. I've seen the type before playing my healer. Basically, he's one of those DPSwho gets off on pulling aggro so he can brag that he's dpsing and tanking. Also, as I said, I was always able to pull threat off him but then the problem became the healer who was too busy spamming and not paying attention. However, in their defense they shouldn't have to deal with that in the first place. If it's a rough run for anyone in the group then that means someone isn't doing their job properly. This guy was literally pulling the trash while we were all still buffing each other. Then after. We'd get down to one or two mobs left and he'd run ahead and pull the next group. That's what we were dealing with.
  7. I can understand this. Generally when I run FPs I move pretty quickly. generally I don't warn or slow down unless it's requested by the healer. My main is a healer and I assume the tank is going to move fast. Experienced healers should know to be ready at all times. Paying attention is key to these games. I don't mind slowing down if someone says "hey, you're going to fast or I'm learning" etc etc though. I too don't like sitting in an FP for two hours when it should take 40 minutes unless I'm unfamiliar with said FP. This wasn't the case in this particular FP though. guy just ran ahead and started bashing crap.
  8. I'm sure this kind of stuff has been brought up before, but this just ticked me off. So I just ran hard mode Athiss with this DPS jugg, I quit early. I play a Jugg myself, level 56 tank, in full 55 gear. I've played MMO's since Burning Crusade came out, and have played all roles in several MMO's and I was under the impression that the tanks job is to tank and the DPS is to kill things. That's how the dynamic works. This DPS jugg immediately starts running ahead of me and pulling all the groups. He does this for more than half the pulls, what results is this. He pulls, blows his load and builds a bunch of aggro, naturally, I dive in and taunt, smash, start sweeping slashing. He has so much aggro on me from pulling that the taunt drops and then they go straight after him, The healer is having to spam him to keep him up, when I finally get aggro back on everything, said healer is so focused on him that he doesn't even notice my health is dropping like a bolder in water, I proceed to either have to pop all my crap or die, group almost wipes. We make it to the first boss, I pull and start building threat on boss. He Goes balls out, which is fine on a boss, however the adds pop. Neither of the DPS go for the adds, I'm beating on the boss and see them making a bee line for the healer and begin to pound on him. Seeing they aren't doing what they're supposed to I have to jump over and grab threat, DPS jugg keeps pounding on boss, pull threat, healer busy healing him self, dies, then I die, then group wipes. DPS jugg then proceeds to tell me "Don't think you can tank hard mode flashpoints" even though I've been doing that for the last 6 levels with no problems what so ever. At this point, I'm naturally annoyed and tell him to stop pulling and to ease DPS if he pulls threat (the things I was taught as a DPS in every MMO I've played). He proceeds to rage on me. I quit, he then whisper's me and continues his trash talk. I ignore him. In my old guilds a guy like this would have been kicked from the group immediately. What's ironic is that he complained in the beginning of the FP that he was having trouble with this map before, I have not. Common denominator? So yeah, a little venting. Any horror stories form anyone else?
  9. I really like this game, and normally I'd be inclined to rip you a new one, but I'm inclined to agree. PVP is a little out of control right now. Healing is waaaaaaaaaay op. I've seen healers get focus fired by 4 guys and stay up. That's insane. Roots and stuns are ridiculous. Many of them don't break on dmg and they last for 3-6 seconds. I'm pretty geared, almost have my full pvp set at 55 and I'm continuously pulling my hair out right now because I'll have guys stun me and even with my cooldowns popped 2/3 of my hp will be gone before I come out of the stun. It gets worse when you have some classes that have 2-3 stuns that do this. As a melee class I get eaten for breakfast, it's very frustrating and not fun. Before Hutt Cartel I did decent. I wasn't the best but I was consistently in the top 5. Now I can't contend.
  10. Did you skip Balmorra? I remember the first class I played was a Mar. I quit it after getting to Balmorra because I had to fight every inch lol.
  11. Normally I'm on Bioware's side when it comes to this game, there are lots of whiners and self entitled people playing, but I have to agree with the OP on this. It WAS misleading. I pre ordered the xpac on the premise I would get early access. I still would have bought it but I probably would have waited til the day before release. Now you can say "well you should have done your research" but frankly that's bull when the GIANT headline on the FRONT of the website is screaming "Pre order and get early access!!!!" and has been for the last month (and I'm assuming before that). I'm not that upset about it, but it was rather shady of them to do that.
  12. I have a feeling they may do that since to me that makes most sense. In game currency should be used. Perhaps they could offer that option to subs like the free spec and use Cartel coins for free players.
  13. I think generally that's a bad idea, and it's stuff like that that has killed other F2P mmo's for me when I went in (and it killed WOW), luckily it's not a pit they've fallen into...yet. Some of the ideas are good like faster speeders, but they shouldn't offer anything like super good gear because that would have a huge negative impact on game balance. If you let really good items be sold on a public market like that for real money you're giving an unfair advantage to a certain demographic of players. The very thing that ruined WOW for me and made it super casual. MMO's are about community and character progression and I firmly believe you should have to work for gear, otherwise it turns into a boring easy mode button masher like WOW has become.
  14. I love the doomity doom doom people. "I'm unsubbing and the game is going to die because I have a minor nitpick that is the end of the world because I'm just that important and OCD, and everyone else is going to quit too because I'm quitting." No, sorry. Ever since free weekend I've seen population on my server increase by at least 25 percent. Which means a bunch of people signed up for the long haul. A lot of you don't realize either that generally it takes about a year for an mmo to get "good" and considering this is good already and it's been out 4 months says something. I have no problems running it and as far as gameplay problems go, there's only one major one I see, and that's FP groups, but a better LFG is in the works so it'll get fixed soon enough.
  15. Nope. I'm still subscribed and will be playing for a long time. This is the best mmo I've ever played. As for your server problem, sorry that happened but this is instant gratification central. A dev team isn't going to mess up an update schedule and stop everything to fix a problem that's happening with one server. This game is huge, and it's unfortunate but it'd be impossible for them to drop everything fix one problem. it just doesn't happen like that. The problem I think is that most people playing this game have come from WOW which has been up for years and as such it's extremely stable. No mmo is perfectly stable at launch, and most people don't know how to handle it, they just up and leave. Which is unfortunate, because this game has huge potential which will be realized in the near future, but people forget that it's only been out a month. 1 month. 30 days in such a massive game is not enough time to fix every little tiny little problem, and the problems are tiny. The game it completely playable and has enough content for you average player who doesn't spend 16 hours a day playing. Most people on my server haven't reached 50 yet and they wont for at least another month or two. You wanna talk about awful launches you should have played Age of Conan at launch, it was absolutely broken and unplayable, and the pvp was so awful it was ridiculous. Everyone could stealth, you'd almost kill a guy, he'd stealth and run away, then come back and gank you when a mob had you at half health, it was ridiculous. There was virtually no pvp at launch (it was all open world, no designated areas which can be a good and a bad thing) and no pvp sets. It was terrible. Yet several years later I hear people say that Conan actually quite good. Now considering swtor is better than WOW was at launch (and believe me WOW was absolutely awful at launch), WAY better imagine how good this game is going to be in a year. You should stick it out.
