  1. the WOW LFG tool gets some stick it doesnt deserve. the lack of communication , get in and grind it out dont say a word attitude comes from easy farm level content that has no pauses in and people have to do daily to get the gear they want for raiding. honestly i see the same behaviour here in flashpoint
  2. what makes more sense, the gunner in the opening scene can does his job and shoots down an escape pod and the films end there or he is incompetent? which makes more sense. Storm troopers the Empires elite all have a strange vision defection that means that none of them can shoot straight and they never ever hit anyone or they are an elite squad and gun EVERYONE down in the death star and the film ends there. i could go on all day. but i believe the point is made. The scene with greedo and Han is not there to realistically depict how a shoot out might go down but to introduce Han as a character and yes shooting first or second in what is a heroic fantasy film and not may i remind you real life does put a massively different spin on who he is.
  3. the problem most people have isnt with a LFG tool its the cross server part. weve seen it before and what it does to peoples attitudes. a LFG that just works on the server.. that would be great
  4. the game doesnt do any of these things the game offers options. my sith jugernaught is i suspect around the same place as the op's im near the end of hoth, My vette hasnt been shocked once or abused in any way the first thing i did was to take off the colar but we are playing Empire characters i am a sith we are all slaves in the empire we all serve , tortue and cruelty are entertainment for us , we are the bad guys. that is the point. or at least i thought it was.
  5. i suspect that quest is a badly stitched together compilation of 2, it starts off being about exposing a corrupt official but then it transforms into a freedom of speech thing and he isnt doing anything corrupt he is just speaking his mind.
  6. no, no it doesnt and you might have taken econ but you didnt get it You would have to change the entire way an MMO generates resources how they are spent and how they recycle /degrade, it could be done but i dont really see it being worth the effort.
  7. Sometimes this game just makes me facepalm. So i log in today got the tatooine bonus missions to clear, open my mailbox and theres 500 credits and a nice thank you from the sons of palawa for being their bff . looking at my mission log i still have a bonus mission left to go and kill one the kill count is 15/16 and i cant drop the quest the main part of it seems to have been completed. were buddies and all but the game still maintains i need to slaughter them, whatever. Ok i think, cant abandon it for some reason, so ill just run over that desert and finish it of. get to the area and what do i run into.. a big red instance wall i cant even get in to finish it. smooth
  8. yeah if the class quests were more than 10% of the quests you did, and you hadnt done the other generic quest content a few times in beta and maybe a few time since it would be a bit interesting but re rolling to do the new stories? you are going to have to be willing to plough through a lot of known by heart content to see them. and the class stories themselves... well lets be honest they are bloated and padded to all hell as they have to be to last to level 50 , if i think back to my class quest of the last 4 planets its been get artifact 1 get artifact 2 get artifact 3 get artifact 4.... its been 6 days since anything other than fluff happened! it may be valid for you to just keep re rolling over and over but alot of people like to get invested in their character and like to keep seeing options of progression , it is one of the more traditional pulls to the MMO genre. so its great your happy but unless we want a lot of people to get bored and stop playing we also need the people that like to progress and stick to one character to get some things to do.
  9. the amount of people that never realise you can use WASD to drive in the space missions and just get shot to pieces and end up thinking these missions are hard is beyond belief i love the space missions to really excited to see what other stuff they add, co op , more difficulty levels (up and down it sounds like theres a market for em)
  10. 0. PvP in mmo's isn't good but it can be a fun diversion. unfortunately they made the two same mistakes wow made that ruins pvp for all but those that make it their primary activity. 1. Resillience. you have to grind losses to get pvp gear against people that have pvp gear 2.Pre made squads of fully geared level 49's are allowed to que together to assrape abunch of teen green geared people. im not sure how much crack you have to smoke before that sounds like a good idea but apparently they managed it. loose expertise , make pre mades fight pre mades and ill give it another go but as it stands its dead to me.
  11. the whole luke leia and mum scene in jedi i , well after knowing what we do in rots i assumed luke had some feeling or sense of his true mother through the force and he was just seeing if leia did/had more i think people forget just how bad the ewoks actually were;)
  12. too late now but imo what they should of done is give us option of a selection of companions and then have a mission to go and recruit that one. each companion could of had its own little mini quest and we could of mixed and matched. sure it might not of made as much sense in some story arcs, ie trooper goes and recruits a little jawa furball but meh fun should trump story imo.
  13. actually games are nothing but choices, game play is 100% making choices. its just the story in this game that doesn't have choices, or more accurately the choices do not cover many outcomes and have no consequence
  14. yup very badly handled , the system we actually have is lighter/darker not light/dark but it rewards on the later not the system it is. for eg the slave camp , poison them fast or slow.. both are dark side choices. but killing htem fast gives light side points because its more humane than the slow method. but its still darkside. there are no light side options ie to help and support the slaves. shoddy writing or simply biting off more than they could chew and not being able to fit in the non linearity required. basically choice in this game is just an illusion regardless of the morality of your character your still going to murder who the game tells you to.
  15. the single most likely factor is that jedi are in a lot of ways based on samurai their philosophy is a lot like Zen Buddhism and the fighting style draws heavily on it. and well samurai basically dont dual wield , no one does outside of fiction books movies and games, it kinda doesnt work. but as noted it creeps in over the decades as it catches on in the fantasy worlds
  16. always assumed it was just a plot device or cookie , a little this is how the emp turned into this. moment as lightning doesn't inflict the sort of damage he took or behave in the way "force lightning" does so i always assumed it was just him over reaching to hold windu off.
  17. hmm ive done several grey space missions while levelling mainly because i didnt notice i had out levelled them , im pretty sure you get the cash and commendations as normal but the xp just drops to 5 so i would assume at 50 you can do them all for commendations.
  18. there's a special subset of PvP'ers that enjoy pvp on an mmo. they dont like fair fights or balance. now lets look at the sort of individual that likes to take part in this sort of behaviour. 1. they need 20 level advantage 2. they need to play the OP class 3. they need to massively out gear you. 4. they need to have the drop on you. 5. they need skill to take a place behind class, level and gear 6. going around griefing like this is the best use of their time. you shouldn't get angry you should get amused just point laugh and remember they may have cost you 30 seconds of res/run time but they are going to be them for the rest of their lives
  19. can doesnt mean will. Just because the Sith culture allows murder as a means of progression and culling off the weak doesn't mean they go around looking for every opportunity to off their own. They are still a Lawful society they have a common goal and they do work together, the motives may be purely selfish but group work is often the best way to get what you want. think about raiding for loot rather than to hang out with friends. you see sith killing each other in books/movies/game because it makes great drama. like jedi's blowing up death stars. doesn't mean its actually a normal day to day occurrence for the majority. Anarkin had potential for being the most powerful jedi of all time. plus with his many flaws he was extremely easy for palpatine to manipulate and position. he would of made a very useful right hand (and did) Sith will kill a competitor for safety or a weakling for pleasure but not a valuable useful resource.
  20. for those struggling on space missions , i have to ask but do you know your movement keys work and thats how you dodge incoming fire?
  21. well the human imagination is limited to what it has perceived before so nothing is ever really new . but a dark power rises a hero with a mysterious past refuses the call to fight personal tragedy brings our hero back training montage pivotal battle between good and evil episode 4 is basically a point for point remake of any number of samurai films. if you want to see blatant theft of Dune IP check out the game Dune 2 then look at starcraft and warcraft
  22. I miss night time! 15 years ago i was playing EQ and our lives were ruled by the day/night cycle and im not talking about the dash through kithicor im talking about being Human and stumbling around blindly in the dark looking for a guard post or other safe haven to hide at till day breaks. In wow night lost its teeth but it still gave the world a dynamic progressing feel. time passing. it makes the world look better, first time catching the sun setting across the wetlands, the moon turning auberdine beach silver. its always 2pm in star wars unchanging sterile and boring. i want the night , i want fog rain and snow while your at it!
  23. well really this is my biggest problem with the whole set up , if this is how it is then it shouldn't be a tool to align you with light or dark side because as has been pointed out its a good vs evil check (within the confines of the limited options presented) rather than the forces light and dark sides. But sith corruption comes about from it. various light sabres lock out because of it , the game is clearly defining as you alignment to the force light or dark side. yet as everyone is agreeing these are not the choices or options allowed. it just doesnt scan either its as we agree a system that measures your alignment within the faction and the options it allows , which is fine but that means it cant be light/dark side alignment which is what the game uses it for. or its a light/dark side choice which it isnt because for one its more often than not a basic good vs evil morality choice rather than light/dark side principles and secondly well it just clearly isnt that choice to start with (ie masacring slaves is always dark side) and the game doesnt allow you to make the light side choice like killing the poisoner and burning his work down. which a loyal Imperial could do and still be on that side he just doesnt agree with that way of fighting . the options are dark and darker not light and dark , hence this cant be light/dark side choice . basically it contradicts itself and makes a mess
  24. Now you see i disagree on this one . i think not killing them at all, perhaps taking the poison and throwing it away so no one else could do it might of been light side. killing the guy wanting to do the poisoning and trashing his research.. again maybe light side. but just because the alternative is a slow death that doest make mass murder light side.
