  1. I never played wow, not sure about their arena system being required and all. But I unsubbed yesterday, meaning I'm out after the free month, which ends today for me. Reason being there's no decent PvP. People who think the current PvP gear system and PvP maps qualify as decent, have never played a game that actually had good PvP. Every game company can throw in a PvP map and give it an objective, and the SWTOR ones are among the worst I've seen. There need to be brackets, rating, soloers split from premades, good maps, reworked PvP gear system and a reworked Ilum zone. But then again, even if they add all that, it will take months and I probably won't resub anymore because we'll be close to GW2. And that is a game that actually cares about its PvP.
  2. They should make the difficuly differences a bit smaller... like BT is a lot easier than everything else. Also, I ran Boarding Party HM a few times, and while I already did the whole instance up to the bridge without wiping, and once even without anyone dying, there's no way I can do the last boss. I tried it with really good groups but didn't even get close. The difference in difficulty between those 3 guys and the rest of the instance is retarded.
  3. I would 100 times rather spend 2 minutes running than 1 minute running and 1 minute waiting
  4. I found the one on Ilum, poisonous strategy... gives an enhancement. But what about Belsavis? Never saw a 2+ heroic there, or do you mean the 4+ ones?
  5. You are right, I must have not payed enough attention on the Esseles.... I did see a pair of modifyable gray pants on the AH too, but I don't know where that would be from
  6. About this grind: Leveling phase: Quests are very repetitive. The possibilities: - kill x mobs - dextroy x things - open x boxes to take x items - kill mobs until you get x drops It's fun for a while, but then it gets just as grindy as in any other MMO. You talk to a guy, you run to a spot, you smash things and loot things, you run back. Enemies in questing zones don't use many special skills and are pretty much all the same. End game: The way to get gear is running dungeons over and over, or queueing warzones over and over. To promote the repetitiveness there's lots of dailies and weeklies so you have to do the same thing every day / week. Now do not get me wrong, I don't mind grinding, I see it as part of MMOs and not something evil that developers should kill. Just don't say SWTOR killed the grind, or dealt with the grind problem. It really didn't.
  7. saber marshal set? which are quest rewards, or at least a few parts of it
  8. do you have anything to back that up?
  9. So the tooltips of skills in the tree don't show damage increase from gear. I want to know if voltaic slash is actually better than trash. The base values might be, but trash gets: - 6% damage increase (darkness) - 2 force cost decrease (madness) - 50% crit modifier increase (madness) so after that, is there any point in taking voltaic slash?
  10. My thoughts on choices, in dialogues especially: First few times there were choices, it was cool. I liked being able to choose cuz it gave me the feel I was actually saying it instead of watching 2 people talk. But, as the game progressed, it became less and less fun. Atm I'm just spacing through dialogues and pressing random things. Why? Because in the end it doesn't matter. As said before your choices have very little consequence. It even goes that far that in some conversations, the NPC will say the same line, regardless of what you just said to it. You can say whatever you want, the quest will stay the same, and hell, even the NPC's mood will be the same. Light and dark side options are the exceptions, they sometimes have a small effect. For example on Taris, as empire player, you can choose to kill Thana (if that was her name). If you do so, you get an extra fight, which will last 20 sec or so, and then you tell the quest giver that you killed her. That's all. After that quest, you wouldn't have seen Thana regardless of if you killed her or left her alive. When this really got into my mind, I stopped caring about the choices in this game.
  11. PLEASE give us a second spec / role to make. I am a lvl 50 assassin, and I like to be able to tank and dps. I have a DPS gear set and a tank gear set. However, I can't combine those things into a single spec. The respec costs are insane so I have to pick one. If I pick DPS, I can never tank again. If I pick tank, my dps goes to **** and my stealth goes to ****. I want to be able to tank instances, and play as DPS through my daily quests and PvP. It's stupid that this is not possible. This system just makes the game less fun.
  12. I did boarding party HM today, and I never did the normal version... so either you're wrong or that guy was bugged
  13. I know it's not a flashpoint but I felt like it belongs in this forum anyway. Did anyone beat the space mission Ascendancy Barrier? This seems to be the final one on sith side. I have 3 grade 5 parts, 3 purple parts that are better than grade 5, and 3 out of 4 commendation upgrades (only missing proton torpedoes). Yet I can't beat this. If I absolutely play at my best I get to the last part with the minelayer, but then I always die right next to it. My 3300 ship armor just stands no chance versus 100 mines firing at you regularly, on top of the normal enemy ships and the "heavy fighters" that take 10 rockets each to take down. So did anyone beat this? If so, do I miss something, or is it just really hard and am I not good enough?
  14. No tuning needed. I failed this the first time I did it, and succeeded every time after, without any trouble. It's not hard. Hint: use your brain
  15. I wish that was the case... I was really dissapointed when I saw they already put effort into releasing a new flashpoint this week, instead of fixing what they have. If it goes the same way as RIFT, as in lots of content but with lots of bugs, I'll be gone here fast. MMO companies need to realize that quality > quantity.
