  1. Any geared class should beat you 1v1 if they know what they are doing. That's a fact. Sages are very much support classes. We either heal or do AoE damage to a group to setup kills for other classes. We are built to cc and run at any 1v1 encounter. Our single target burst and survivability is just too low to stand a chance. It's really a joke.
  2. This may come off as a rant, but whatever. Ok here are a bunch of facts about sages/sorcs. This is coming from someone who was gladiator multiple seasons in WoW. You don't have to like the game to know that means I have a skillset that roughly transfers to this game. The game is really really rocky for Sages in PVP (dps sages). Against a geared opponent a sage should lose a 1v1 vs every class that knows what they are doing. The two exceptions seem to be Snipers/gunslingers (abuse LoS) and Mercs/Troopers that spam tracer missile because they apparenty universally don't know how to fake cast (interupt tracer missile and they don't know what to do). I cannot explain to you how frustrating this game gets when I have a BM pyro powertech on me. My tele throw hits them for ~350 per tick ( I am not saying it hits like this on all classes) and I am in a mix of BM and Champ gear. On the other hand the Powertech can chain crit me for 4200-5k with rail shots with other skills like rocket punch critting me for 3k+. I am forced to cc and sprint away in almost every situation. Our single target dps seems to be terrible considering we have to stay mobile and kite or we will get steamrolled. The biggest problem in my mind causing this is the hybrid spec. The AOE dmg completely inflates our stats, and when you also consider we are almost always in combat casting our damage is actually low. The solution in my mind would have to be to buff top tier of tele and balance and break the hybrid spec. Additionally powertech pyro burst damage needs to be addressed Below is from a WZ today. You might think they are fake numbers but any sage that has faced geared BHs can confirm that the same happens to them. 4600, 3400, 4400, + 1-2k in dots. There are three powertechs I face on my server almost all the time that are able to do that to me in probably 3 seconds in almost all of our encounters. For the record I can to 2k in response. If I am lucky and have a pom proc I can do maybe ~4k. My only choice is to force lift and run and hope others target him. Before you comment: If you are sub 50 you're opinion doesn't really matter. Everyone knows casters are the least gear dependent so of course you have a problem with sages/sorcs. I don't care about your screenshot of a sorc doing 700k in a warzone. That's almost all AOE damage.
  3. You proved you have no idea what you are talking about when you graded their burst at B+. They easily have the best burst in the game. And defense @ b-? Is that a joke?
  4. I would take any of the inquisitor gear in a heartbeat
  5. 4.7k is not even close to the top end for railshot. your gear is either not bm equivalent or you are lying. there's a bh on my server and the lowest dmg I have ever seen him pull is 400k in a wz and his highest crit is always 5.4k or higher
  6. then your opinion is worthless and/or you are trolling 5k --> 3500 --> 5k in 3 seconds is not balanced. (rs --> rp --> rs)
  7. People say sorcs are OP for the following reasons: 1) when you are getting blown up in a WZ lightning is a lot more noticeable than the sniper shots etc hitting you. 2) Sorcs are a ranged class and with the hybrid spec they do a lot of aoe dmg (so what you have is players constantly in combat and constantly doing aoe dmg). When the WZ ends sorcs generally have higher damage then let's say the warrior that has to run from target to target doing single target damage. Now you have a bunch of idiots going "OMG LOOK HOW MUCH MORE DMG HE DID THAN ME" and they think that means sorcs are just killing things twice as fast as them opposed to having less down time and hitting more targets for less (making it partially meaningless damage). And before you go "well i play a ranged class!" you forget that for casted abilities (vs channeled abilities like lightning) LoS/range becomes a much bigger concern and will cause you not to get as much damage out during a warzone (targets running behind something or out of range and the cast doesn't get off vs half the channel does damage). Additionally the two instant cast AOEs help sorcs pull ahead on stats when in reality a merc (for example) probably kills its target faster.
  8. I am calling ******** on this. You obviously haven't faced a BM one that has a freaking clue what to do. There aren't many high end PTs because a) most people rolled a force user b) For the people who rolled BH, Merc sounded a lot more interesting ("state of the art weapons!" ) Don't be stupid.
  9. Go Pyro. The damage is grossly overpowered and if you can't dominate with it you are doing something wrong.
  10. Pyro-Powertechs. They are difficult to kill and their burst damage is absolutely insane. It is not uncommon to see them pull off back to back 5k crits. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen ~5k, 3500, ~5k + dot ticks in the course of three seconds.
  11. This isn't really up for debate. Any rational person will admit Pyro damage is out of control in PvP. This burst is absolutely and utterly retarded. I have had back to back 4500-5k crits on me in full champ gear. A BM Pyro-Powertech is nearly impossible to kill and can burst someone dead within a few globals. Anyone that tries to pretend the burst doesn't needs to get toned down has no idea what they are talking about or are blatantly lying in hope devs don't notice the problem.
  12. It seems to me a lot of the problems SWTOR has been facing has come from Ilum. On my server (as well as the servers friends of mine play on) the Empire has a huge population advantage. In addition to that, it seems every warzone I am in the entire Empire side has full Battlemaster gear (outgearing a large portion of our team). Unless the Reps are really organized we get steamrolled from the gear difference. My guess is the gear difference came from Empire farming valor from Ilum because they can just swarm us and lock us to our base (due to the 2:1 ratios I have seen on a daily basis). My proposal is Republic characters get a stat buff on Ilum (Increased HP and Damage). This way they can catch up to the valor rank of the Empire toons and stand a better chance in Ilum battles. Additionally this will encourage new players to create a toon Republic side to get valor more quickly. As the populations even out the buff can be reduced until it is not needed at all. In summary, I think this small change that can be easily monitored and adjusted would help fix the following: A) PvP gear differences B) Ilum being one sided C) Uneven populations Thoughts?
  13. William Wallace ran around in a skirt, and he killed people just fine. However, he was not forced to dress up like a hobo or lady gaga.
  14. Every BH getting defensive here needs to get a grip. Designing an entire spec around spamming one ability is bad game design. That's not debatable. As it stands right now, BHs are rewarded for pressing only one button. I don't know how many of you have been on the other side of it, but it sucks. Am I saying Tracer Missile should be nerfed and that's that? No. What I am saying it the entire tree need to be redone. Will tracer missile be nerfed in that process? of course. Should other abilities get buffed in return? absolutely.
  15. I have to agree. The consular gear is horrible. I have never complained about an armor set in a mmo before but this is just bad. I am actually looking forward to getting the pvp gear so i can look like a homeless drifter so I don't have to wear the wedding dress designed by elton john.
