  1. Bit of a fan site plug, but it is an official interview and I figured people in this forum might be more interested than those anywhere else. Follow the link and share your thoughts in this thread or in the blog's comment section itself!
  2. Don't feel too bad, either of you. Sadly there are a lot of pretty bad bugs going around right now; it's almost natural to assume it's another bug when you run into a problem. Let's all just be glad that this mission actually works and it was just a user error in this case.
  3. The 0/6 refers to the daily missions you have to complete in addition to killing the named guys. Have you done that?
  4. There's already a post about this one here. Resetting the entire mission seems to have fixed it for a lot of people (including me).
  5. I found a total of seven clickable doors in the settlement, however clicking two of them didn't count towards my quest progression (they just spawned a bunch of skytroopers), so now I'm stuck on 5/6. Will reset the phase and try again and update this if it works. EDIT: Resetting the phase works because all the doors become clickable again but the mission counter doesn't get reset.
  6. Wow, has it really been over a year since I last bumped this? Still around four years later! (And holding a little giveaway right now.) http://swtorcommando.blogspot.co.uk/
  7. I second this, pretty sure staff slam and blade shear shouldn't hit for 75k on levelling players with 55k HP...
  8. You can tell that to my guildie who was complaining today when the group finder gave his pug a new healer... because the companion had been doing a better job.
  9. My only concern in regards to companions being OP is small group content. I don't care how OP they are while soloing (hell, I play a lot of healers so I definitely appreciate companions packing a bigger punch now), but I think if companions become significantly better at their job than the average player, we have a problem. Even in this thread we have people mentioning how their companion is better at healing than a pug healer. No group should ever have reason to go: "Let's kick this guy, I'll get Lana out and we'll have a much easier time."
  10. Just wanted to chime in as another person who experienced this today, on 8-man hard mode. Did this encounter successfully many times pre 3.0, but currently the rate at which the add dies is just ridiculous. Based on rough eyeballing it seemed to take about 25k damage per second.
  11. I was definitely a bit bummed when I didn't get any sort of achievement for getting my first crew skill to 500. Considering the existing achievements for 400 and 450, I figured it was just another oversight and something that they'll probably patch in later (I hope).
  12. Just throwing my hat in the ring as another person who's been affected by this bug. I thought that maybe they'd just forgotten to update the lowbie weekly to be available from 55-59 as well, but if some people do have access to it at those levels it's got to be a bit more complicated than that.
  13. Holy crap, I didn't even know you could turn those off... but no, we double checked and he's had them enabled the entire time.
  14. Just did a normal mode run of Athiss with an obnoxious Sorc "healer" who was obviously in dps spec and needed on all the loot, none of which was actually willpower gear. We politely asked her to stop but her reply was basically that she didn't care. So I tried to initiate a vote kick, but the guildie who was in the group with me saw nothing pop up. At first I was doubting myself, wondering whether I had accidentally hit cancel instead of confirm, but I tried again and again my guildie said that no vote was actually initiated. Anyone else had this problem?
  15. Giving this a bump because I'd also like to give my cyborg long hair... but mostly I just want the appearance designer to stop taunting me with options that can't be used. Either make them available to use or remove them from the kiosk for non-humans please. It's very annoying to be able to select an appearance change and then to always get an error message.
  16. Thanks for pointing out the self-buff with the counter, somehow I managed to completely miss that! That does indeed help, but I still think an audible cue for the jumps would be helpful. I thought ProM's sound effect in WoW was great... But I agree that this sort of thing wouldn't feel right in SWTOR.
  17. I like this new healing ability very much (just like I loved WoW's Prayer of Mending, which was obviously the inspiration for this new heal), but it really feels lacking without a proper sound effect for its "jumps", as that makes it pretty impossible to keep track of how much healing it's actually doing without running a parse. Anyone feel the same way? Or can you think of any reason why it should remain silent?
  18. I've only done the trooper story so far, but I'm looking forward to doing the other 7 - unlike on Makeb, where there wasn't really anything to make the classes feel different. Even if the new class stories are short, they get a definitive thumbs-up from me.
  19. I have to admit that my first instinct is to be sceptical. As others have said, this sounds a lot like what WoW did in its last expansion, and regardless of arguments about "dumbing down" etc., it had two effects in WoW that I disliked big time: 1) It made character development while levelling really boring as everything is now automated and you don't get to decide on anything most levels, and 2) Contrary to its intended purpose, it made at least the levelling game more unbalanced than never. I'm not saying that those exact same things are bound to happen in SWTOR, but you'll understand why I'm wary. Also, a question I haven't seen anyone ask yet: if people get to pick their advanced class by simply making a selection on the UI once they hit level 10, does that mean that the awesome "choose your advanced class" quests on the fleet are going to go away? I would miss those, especially the bounty hunter one...
  20. Wow, has it really been nearly a year since I posted in this thread? I thought it might be worth mentioning that I'm still around and that the blog is up to 350 posts now. Also, when did the fansite forum get consolidated with the community content forum? Not that I mind, I just hadn't noticed...
  21. Updated the original post to make sure all the information is current.
  22. Thanks for the link, I can hardly believe that change happened that long ago already... I guess it's been a while since we actually tried to take someone below level 50. Still seems backwards to me though - I'm not saying there shouldn't be a minimum level requirement to enter, but they easily could've set it to 47 or 48.
