  1. Is it really 50k for each kingpinchip? Mabey they should also add in some cheat option so that just like season 1 ranked you can cheat your way to the rancor or you can get it by being Lucky...?

I recently discovered that there is a limit on how many diffrent ranks a guild can have (10), and allthough this is fine i was surprized that there is a limit on this and therefor why not make it possible to unlock more? Now it doesnt have to be a cartelmarket only unlock, it could be a combination of ingame credits or cartelcoin unlock like many character/legacy unlocks work.
  3. Ranked atm only seems to be there to get ranked commendations faster, cause team balance and equal chances in the outcomes is a few lightyears away. Atm its pure luck (or badluck:p) that decides the outcome, certainly in solo and thats really the biggest issue of ranked, not the nubs or undergeared people queing cause those people should que but they should end up versus one another instead of the situation where the team with the best geared/skilled people in it wins. And another part of this "luck" issue with ranked are the classes, or better said the inbalance in classes between the 2 teams since its just a fact that certain classes work much better in arenas not to mention certain inbalances between classes in general you can end up with 2 teams where all players have the gear and skill only 1 team has the better classes... and you again end up with a situation of pure luck that decides the outcome and not the players effort he made in his skill and gear etc. Now if you really want the rewards from the season just do what the majority of people that got the season 1 rewards did on my sever and that is fix the matches, get 2 teams together 1 with the mains who want the rewards and a "fake" 1 with alts and you will be done with it in like 1-2 hrs.
  4. Mabey the staff in Texas should have stayed in bed cause i logged in about 3-4 hours ago without trouble. And now that reset has passed i cant Is there something more to load up this week apart from reset like perhaps rakgoul event that could explain this or was the problem allready here before reset?

    Rancor whine!

    Getting this latest Rancor mount reward was a bit of a joke in allmost every way, looking at the people on my server most people that got it either got it by extreme luck with the matches they ended up in or they setup 2 teams and fixed it. Most of the few 'real' pvpers on my server that got it happen to be people from the same guild and that isnt coincedence cause i spoke to one of them that i know and admitted they fixed it cause they got tired of the stupid balance in solo que (which ofcourse is stupid), and then there are people who i never even seen in pvp (and i pvp allot) that got like lvl 40 valor to give an idea... BW said they would look closely at any "match fixing" to get the mount but by the looks of it on my server i have no doubt that the majority of those that have it got it exactly that way. And to be honest im fine with that so long as we have a que system that makes no sence and is allmost completly based on luck in terms of class/spec balances, gear, pvp exp etc etc.

    I did said a sniper is an attractive first target in 'many' matches, so yea not allways but it often is cause like i also said if the sniper is left alone he will very likely hurt the enemy team allot, so the enemy team kinda has to give him some attention and partly also becaus a sniper is squishy and has only a limited ammount of options to avoid instant death no matter what spec hes using. But i think this sniper talk has gone a bit off-topic, i took it mainly as an example of inbalance in class combinations you can get in solo ranked and its just one example out of many. Certain classes are just more viable for arena that was my main point, and since there is no matchmaking setup in place for the classes but only for the roles the outcome of many matches is often decided by which team has the more viable classes rather then the players skill and gear.

    As a sniper you will have a much harder time in arenas then as certain other classes, you will be an attractive first target of the enemy in many matches and if that enemy team happens to have 2 stealth classes you might not be able to do anything at all no matter what spec your using and this is partly becaus a sniper is squishy and partly becaus if they dont put some attention on you you will hurt them. Class inbalance is perhaps the biggest issue atm with solo ranked at least on my server cause the majority (like 95%) of people queing are nearly all people with good enough gear and skill yet the diffrents in classes that the teams end up with decides the outcome in at least 9 out of 10 matches not the players skill. So talking about exploiting one can also start to claim that people playing more viable classes for arenas are exploiting as well, they arnt ofcourse but the game has made it so. And with that situation its only logical that people go for alternatives like fixed teams, and i really doubt that can be fully tracked and punished cause unless the "fake" doesnt do anything and just lets the real team win outright then yea it will be pretty clear but if they just fight a match normally and the "fake" team just holds back a bit i really doubt much can or will be done about that. But this is simply what you will get if you got this inbalance of classes that makes the outcome of most matches a roll on the dice in the sence that it all depends on how lucky you are with the combination of classes on your side or how unlucky the other team is with theirs.

Yea that would also offset the inbalance between classes a bit more or better said combinations of classes, however i think the problem there would be to few people queing to get a decent number of 8vs8 going, they would really need to put cross-server que in for that to work decently. And becaus there would be to few people for 8vs8 currently you would also get guildies and friends queing together at the same time with voice comm and then basiclly ending up in premades in many matches, i allready see that happen currently in 4vs4, however the more people queing up the less chance those people end up together or even in the same match. For the moment however the matchmaking is kinda a joke, and the outcome in the majority of matches is completly based on luck rather then skill/gear I remember WoW arena from a few years back and there you do have real matchmaking and pretty decent one as well and i can say if they put in this matchmaking in their game it would cause massive outrage.
  9. Solo ranked has just a roll on the dice matchmaking system, it only looks at roles nothing else. So yea for ranked pvp thats pretty darn pathetic, even more so becaus there is a big inbalance between classes certainly in an arena, and a certain combination of classes simply work so much better then other combinations and then it simply becomes a roll on the dice (luck) if you win or lose a match. Like at least 8 out of 10 matches i played solo ranked on various characters the outcome was basiclly set in stone from the very start, and only a small minority of matches are balanced, fun, challeging and like a pvp match should be. For example if your a slinger/sniper and you face lets say at least 2 stealths with mabey another nonstealth melee consider that match a 3 vs 4 most times cause you will just get zerged before you can do anything in whatever spec you use and not to forget the lags you often get from such a zerg make sure you wont really know what happened untill your allready death. Thats just 1 example of how ridiculous the balance in these matches can turn out and there are many more examples.
  10. The ranked solo que basiclly would not work without the role matching nobody or hardly anybody would go for it without that so thats kinda the very minimum requirement that makes this viable. But apart from role they should really consider classes as well, cause certainly in arenas certain classes have a BIG advantage over other classes, even more so certain combinations of classes versus other combinations and i think 0 matchmaking goes into that.
  11. I knew that normall pvp has ridiculous matchmaking. My main post was about ranked and how i expected it would be allot more serious in trying to bring some balance into ranked solo queing considering how vital that is to actually give both sides a fair chance... (certainly now that there are these season 1 rewards). But i guess my post is removed for whatever reason, didnt used any rude commentary and was simply asking arround if there was any serious matchmaking system in place for ranked solo que (which i think bellongs in the pvp section of the forum:p) and i made some comparisons and options that would make sence to use in ranked matchmaking....

  13. Well thats awesome no matchmaking at all No wonder i get the most ridiculous setups in terms of classes in both teams as well as their gear and i guess rating doesnt matter at all either then... Thats just lol.....

Either this game has the worst possible matchmaking system or it doesnt have one at all, its been a while since i did some ranked wz's and last time i did was during the old 8vs8 setup where my server basiclly had a couple of groups/guilds that went face to face with one another in ranked every now and then, so the balance in classes, gear, skill was your own choice there. Now however when you solo que its basiclly a roll on the dice and one just has to be lucky to get the viable classes and the players who know how to pvp for arena (and some classes are FAR more OP in arenas then others). I get the impression they took their inspiration for this "matchmaking setup" from their cartel packs where its also just a matter or getting a lucky roll. Nothing related to a players exp, gear, rating, skill (time played with char)... nothing at all. Now mabey ive been spoiled to much a few years ago with WoW arena where they do make sure basiclly allways end up against a team with more or less equall numbers as yours, here its just put everything together shake it a bit and then roll it out and hope you come out lucky.
  15. As much as i like these pvp rewards the only thing it seems to have done is lured many nubbish people into ranked pvp that dont seem to know anything about pvp in the game. And that would be fine if the matches select people on lets say their rating or even better their gear (expertise number perhaps) or even perhaps their valor, a selection on even 1 of those would allready make it much better. Ranked used to be a step beyond standart pvp only for those with a good ammount of knowledge of pvp in the game but now you even get people that seem to have 0 knowledge of it and enter with 0 pvp gear, now for me personally this so far seems to have worked in my favor cause im allready close to getting all these rewards but a guildie had the exact opposite experience yesterday and ended with like 1050 rating compared to my 1386 even though his pvp knowledge is as good if not better then mine. For those who know WoW arena's compare it like this, WoW arenas mixing the highest rated teams with the lowest and just be at the mercy of pure luck with what teamsetup you end up in.

  17. Checked the site like last week or so and yea last update was about the GSF release, so over a month without any real update. I noticed now afther seeing this thread and wanting to check the site that i cant go on the site anymore, when i click their link now i end up on swtorwiki, not sure if others had this cause looking at the thread it seems others have still checked the site very recently. Sad overall tho... this site started out as my main info/guide/news site of swtor but as said allready dulfy slowly outdid them. As far as i can remember my intrest for the site started to decline not long afther F2P set in and dulfy overtook them and like 4-6 months later by the time of 2.0 release only dulfy was left on my list, and i believe it was also shortly afther 2.0 that the main guy from the site left the gamebreaker show which he did for like 2 years or so.
  18. Now that the Dread masters are finished what/who will be the next big baddie(s) for the next Ops? There are ofcourse endless options for this but is there any hint out there yet about this? Work on the next Ops and the story that will go with it must allready be in the works now for some time considering DF and DP have been out now for a few months, sure DF and DP NiM will come first but what can we expect afther that for the next Ops? Could the Shroud perhaps be an option? Just like the Dread masters the story with him starts with a singleperson mission and if you finished that whole missionline you will know that this storyline didnt really finished and just asks for some sort of followup.
  19. Speaking of Dulfy, they have posted the 2.5.2 patch notes and it doesnt have the Rakghoul event, instead we get the Bounty event for the coming week.
  20. That woundt really be a solution, it would just make it easier to ignore it as you mentioned and i guess would be pleasing to those that like to see 100% on the planetary stuff. The problem that these achievements are impossible to get on pve server would remain, and even on a pvp server the only way to gain them would still be by being a massive troll.
  21. Few days ago i made a thread here to use warzone kills for this "issue" with planetary pvp achievements on pve servers. Cause i recently discovered that the kills you get in a warzone get added to your HK-51 achievement of killing 500 players when you got him as your active companion, before i thaught that was another achievement i would never be able to get untill the first step of that achievement (100 kills) suddenly popped up. So that gave me the idea why not use that same setup for the planetary kills, which would mean if your for example on Alderaan and your popping into warzones from that planet the kills in that warzone get added to your pvp kills on that planet... I guess this ofcourse sounds more simple then it is to implement but since this is allready possible with the HK-51 achievement it cant be impossible to do this. And this would fully solve the problem with these planetary pvp achievements for those on pve servers, and i would say it would also make it a bit better for those on pvp servers cause then you no longer have to be a gigantic troll to get them.
  22. In terms of the achievements i can see why there are some complains, cause on a PvP server the PvE achievements can more or less be gained just as easily as on a PvE server, but many of the PvP achievements (certainly those on the planets) are basiclly impossible to get on a PvE server.
  23. Im on the Red Eclipse and i would say that every shared planet could use an area like this with similair missions to lure people to it. Cause right now it is simply impossible to do the planet pvp achievements on Red Eclipse PvE server, and an open pvp area like this would be a good solution for that, cause its an area you dont have to go for, the missions arnt really needed its eventually your own choice to go for it or dont. And with those kind of area's on shared planets one also doesnt have to be a gigantic troll to even try to get those pvp achievements.

  25. I recently discovered that the kills i got in warzones got added to my HK-51 achievement of killing 500 players when hes your active comp. Allthough this surprized me i also thought why not use this same setup of recieving warzone kills on the planet you are on for the planetary PvP achievements that require this. The main reason i think this would be a nice feature is becaus these achievements are simply impossible to get in the next 100 or so years on a PvE server, and becaus many of these planetary kill achievements require a pretty high number of kills it will still take a large ammount of warzones to complete them anyway. But if this would be in place it would at least make these achievements possible to get on a PvE server and a bit easier (more intresting i would say) on a PvP server.
