  1. There are many people reporting this problem. The trouble is that there's currently no bug report or other good place to discuss this, so these threads are spread across three or four different forums. OP, check in the customer service forum. If you can get past the whining, there's a few threads on the same topic, and you might find answers.
  2. I believe this is correct; however I'm willing to admit I'm mistaken if it's been announced otherwise. I'm fairly sure this is what I read when it was announced, however. Names are unique, both first and last.
  3. Your ship is never left behind. Even if you didn't take it to wherever you are, it's in the hangar for you, wherever you are. It's a very smart ship.
  4. From everything I've heard, and from what I experienced in beta, a name should become available as soon as you remove the character it's on. So you should be able to create a placeholder. If not, I'm gonna be pretty ticked, cause I've got one being held for me.
  5. You'll be vulnerable to open-world PvP in Contested zones. This means your starting planet, your second planet and your capital should be safe. There may also be safe locations on other planets - but it's best to assume otherwise until you're sure. Only members of the opposite faction can attack you. If you die, you lose nothing except some dignity and you'll need to do a little gear repair. Any vendor can repair your gear - there's a button on the bottom left of the vendor menu for that. General advice: Red = dead. Never assume an enemy will not attack, even if they don't appear to have seen you, or seem to be behaving in a friendly manner. Don't let your guard down.
  6. Just a guess, as I didn't attempt taking any during beta -- have you tried good old Print Screen? Tap that and check in the file for a Screenshots folder?
  7. Have you fully completed the quest in which they were earned? I've noticed that if you pick up points during a quest-related conversation, they tend to be allocated when the quest is fully turned in, at the time that you receive your exp and rewards.
  8. You are still aligned with your faction, no matter what morality you follow. That much is consistent. I'm not sure if actual story is affected, but your companions can and will be. The only current 'benefit' to choosing one over the other is appearances; there's no guarantee it'll stay purely cosmetic or if they've more long-term plans with it.
  9. Do you want to move to another server with 30-45 minute queues? Or were you hoping to move to a server that'll be a ghost town once the craziness dies down and eventually gets merged because they opened too many for launch?
  10. Your last question first - all you should need to do with the disc is input your product key. There should be no further installation. To be honest, with the early access launcher you'll have a more up to date and accurate version than the CD could possibly have, since the discs had to have been created long enough ago to be packaged and shipped. For your first question, check the size of the folder as it currently stands. You're looking to download a total of around 19gb. (Some reports say 18.something, but there may have been patches since then.) IIRC, I had to download English Assets 14 after 1, but I'm not entirely certain of that. So checking the size of your folder is probably best.
  11. I had a crate made of the R2 model bomb droids. I'd always have one prepped, and painted it in the same colors as the R2 droid I always had with me (of a non-explosive variety). It would even be named the same. I think you can see the amusement value without further explanation.
  12. He never even made an effort to find out if Luke was worth training. Just threw a lightsaber at him and said "Okay, let's roll!".
  13. Chir'daki. Because Twi'leks. I love most of the TIEs as well.
  14. I'm running 260M in an SLI setup. I don't know how much difference there is between a 230 and 260, but mine ran okay in beta. I usually don't try to crank everything to max, though - I'm content to sit around 30FPS as long as I've got good texture and light quality.
  15. Yes. Conversely, you can play the story and complete the story quests at the same time with a friend if you are not the same base class.
  16. It'll work fine. You'll be able to participate in each other's class quests, even.
  17. Just to make sure I'm understanding your question correctly ... you're not asking if you have to go BACK to Coruscant when you've taken your ship to a different planet, right? Because of course you don't have to do that - your ship is in the hangar of whatever planet you're on. If you're verifying that yes, you have to go back to the planet's hangar... then yes. Yes you do.
  18. Oh, we're so sorry. We didn't realize you were already paying for access to the game.
  19. It's more common than you think, I'm willing to bet. In a game where one of your classes is essentially a spy, I don't think they see anything wrong with the concept. PvP happens on PvP servers.
  20. You may need or want to completely re-evaluate how you move, for the most effective motion in MMO's. For example: - Break the habit of backing up. It'll be important later, when it's vital to get out of stuff that'll harm you as fast as possible. - Strafing with A and D is great, but learn how to move using your mouse. This will allow you to move, turn, and click on items all with one hand, without ever removing it from the mouse, short of typing. - Keybind your abilities to whatever set up most easily allows you to reach them with your left hand. I prefer to use 1-6, and ALT+1-6, for the spells and abilities I use most often. I can reach these all with one hand, I can cycle targets with TAB, and hit CTRL if I'm using something like Ventrilo. Other toolbar slots can be used for things that are not of critical importance and can thus be clicked on. It's not easy getting used to a whole new system of movement. Kudos for realising that it's important. Once you get it, though, it'll feel very fluid, and you shouldn't have any problems.
  21. Every planet has one near it's major quest hub. On Tython, for example (I'm running off memory here) it's upstairs in the Temple, I think? There's also one in the Twi'lek village. If you activate vendors on your map, and mouse over them, you can get a general idea of what each vendor supplies. Commendation vendors supply "special" something-or-other, I believe.
  22. It really isn't, unless you live specifically in one of those cities and are looking to min/max your connection.
  23. 1. No. 2. Yes. From all reports I've heard, names are available upon deletion of the character holding them. You just need to be quick, in case you have a common / popular / easy to choose name, to ensure nobody else snags it during that downtime.
  24. Has the mouse sensitivity changed since beta? I'm seeing all these complaints about it and don't recall there being an issue. :/
