  1. So having faith in a games company is a bad thing? Or maybe you greatly enjoy SWTOR and know you will most likely enjoy the expansion and you want to help support Bioware is also a bad thing? Who's using dumb logic now...
  2. You post the EXACT same post illogically complaining about not having early access in two threads, that tells me all I need to know about you. Early access will still help alleviate the server stress on the 14th - if it's bad it's bad, but at least it won't be AS bad.
  3. No, because then Makeb would become over-crowded and all the people like you would come here and start whining that the area is unplayable... The servers have limits you know, and based on the Ilum grinding on the first double XP weekend, when there were 10 instances of it yet it was still running like crap for all of them, staggering access is a very good idea. I'd much prefer to wait a week and have Makeb be playable, then to have Bioware open the flood-gates all at once and not be able to enjoy myself due to server stress/over-crowding.
  4. Well the obvious reason is to stop over-crowding and possible server crashes on Tuesday with the flooding of Makeb. Yes it sucks for some people, but only if they have a false sense of entitlement. It was made pretty clear that early access was only for pre-orders before the 7th Jan, and there is no mention of early access when pre-ordering for those who did it after. When I pre-ordered last month I didn't see the mention of early access as a bonus anywhere. So if a bunch of people have pre-ordered now with the hope of early access based on hearsay, without actually checking when pre-ordering if it is indeed included, then they deserve to be upset and angry - but only with themselves.
  5. That right there is most likely your problem, if you don't have SP1 installed. You need to install it, now. Support for Windows 7 without SP1 ends on the 9th April 2013, so not only will you stop receiving security updates, but you've already left yourself open to countless vulnerability's by not having SP1 in the first place. But it doesn't only patch security vulnerability's, it has a whole host of performance and stability updates as well, which means SWTOR will run better. I think Bioware need to seriously start telling people who are running the game on Windows 7 without SP1, that they need to install it, now.
  6. So is this the precursor to Legacy wide Datacrons? Please, please say it is...
  7. I couldn't connect to the authentication server and flushing my DNS fixed it, have you tried that?
  8. Doesn't make it any less true, I remember seeing the dev post about it, no source for you though. Maybe Google is your friend?
  9. Because you have a 10m stun, whereas we only have a 4m stun. It's give and take, deal with it.
  10. Tell me about it! A couple of people now have been like "what the hell " hah
  11. If you are having a whisper conversation with more than one person, you hit R to reply to one, and it puts their name next to the typing field, but then if you receive another whisper from somebody else, even though their name is not present, it sends the reply to them instead of who you are trying to reply to!! It is extremely frustrating.... I have to reply by clicking on the name of the person I want to reply to to make sure they get it. Is this a known issue?
  12. Damnit, my mistake, I saw Mercenary pop up on the screen but it was just the Codex updating... Yes I feel stupid now!
  13. That's the point, I didn't have a choice... I have picked an Advanced Class on EVERY other class, Bounty Hunter was my last, and I had no choice. I skipped to the end of the dialogue pressing space like I always do, and then all of a sudden, ding, I'm a Mercenary... not funny. So I take it your response means that this is a bug?
  14. What's the deal with not having an option to pick my advanced class? Is it a bug? I just got to level 10 and went to choose my advance class on my Bounty Hunter. I wanted to pick a Powertech and I was skipping through the chat as usual to get to the prompt, but instead of a prompt like with every other advanced class I've picked, it just gives me Mercenary?! I've just spent over 2000 cartel coins on this character so deleting it is not an option, unless I can get a refund on my coins spent? Please tell me this is a bug... if I don't get the coins back you will not get another penny from me.
  15. Don't worry, I actually took the time to read through the thread searching for "SSD" and I've found my answer.
  16. Sweeet's Law: Sufficiently good parody - the only way to show a jerk they are being a jerk, without being a jerk yourself.
  17. Ding ding ding! I love how people are so ready to pounce and put people down the first chance they get - got to love the level of maturity on the internet. I thought the use of a face and Grrrr would give it away, but hey ho. I also find it extremely ironic that less than 10 minutes after I post this thread, Eric Musco tells us they are putting a stop to it! Haha Don't worry, after spending nearly £150 on Cartel Coins this last month, I won't be going anywhere.... Aratech Eclipse, you will be mine!!!
  18. That's right, I want to get a couple of characters to 50 and I've quit over the mind-numbing time it takes to get to 50 before - and I'll do it again if you patch Ilum to not allow me to do it this coming weekend! Grrrr
  19. What's the real performance benefit over using an SSD? Will it even be noticeable? I have a Samsung 830 with 8GB of RAM. Would consider upgrading to 32GB RAM if using a RAMDisk will help SWTOR run better, but if the performance gains are minimal, I won't bother.
  20. Ah that sucks, I'll have to pop onto my old characters just to check out the event, but would have liked to have done it on my new main. Thanks
  21. I've just started playing again on a new server with my friend and my Operative is only level 24. What's the minimum level you have to be to do the Gree event? Will be bummed if I can't do it.
  22. Let me say a few more things before I cancel my subscription next week. PvP is an intricate part of the game; you can enter Warzones from anywhere, PvP your entire way to 50 from level 10 if you wish. The bolster system even today provides a very compelling gameplay experience from 10-49. So why, when you know just how intrinsic PvP is to the game, do you keep on ignoring your community and the glaring issues at level 50? I don't think you realise just how important it is for you to appease the PvP community. You can throw your time and resources at PVE all you want, but until you fix PvP this game will remain a shell of its former self and you will not entice PvP’ers to resubscribe. You are fools if you believe the PvP changes at 1.2 were not a major contributing factor to the game going FTP. I honestly don't think you see just how important PvP was/still is to people, and just how badly you butchered with 1.2. The signs were everywhere, they are everywhere, yet somehow they have been lost in a pile of bureaucratic BS and the game has lost hundreds of thousands of subscribers as a result. Who are you trying to kid, yourselves? Since when has a game developer that so blatantly ignores such an important part of its community worked out for a game? It strikes me that you would only ignore such an important part of your community, if you believe them not to be important at all in the grand scheme of things... How very wrong you are. There are more intelligent people than I who have tried to convince you, yet you still fail to see what is right in front of your eyes. I'll close with this, level 50 PvP pre 1.2 was the most compelling PvP I have ever experienced in an MMO. And I wasn't the only one who thought so, websites and reviews everywhere were praising just how balanced PvP felt. Everyone knew it wasn't perfect, but it was the general consensus that you had brought one of the most balanced and enjoyable PvP experiences to an MMO and your PvP community on the whole loved you for it. Yet despite all this, you changed the balance of PvP entirely with 1.2 and even though it caused one of the biggest backlashes I have ever witnessed from a community, you STILL fail to see just how important PvP is to people and thus for the game. *edit* and just to clarify, I'm not talking about the crappy bag system, I'm talking about the gameplay. I'm done with this game and the current team behind PvP. If for whatever reason it suddenly “clicks” and you hire someone who gets it to turn PvP around, I’ll be back, although I have a feeling we’ll all be waiting a very long time as you can’t fix something if you cannot see that it is utterly broken and turning people away from the game in the first place.
  23. And yet again you ignore the biggest topic on peoples minds, PvP. How this wasn't top of your list of reasons you went FTP is beyond me. Everyone I know who has quit, quit over PvP after the balance changes in 1.2. Everyone I know who would like to come back but won't, won't because PvP is still a big mess from 1.2. You should change that top point to read; 1. Our PvP was awesome. Now people hate it and don't want to play it. You've even admitted it yourselves, you had no idea PvP was going to be so popular, so why are you not doing more about it? There are millions of avid PvP'ers out there and SWTOR could be a real home, but it will never be a home to those players if you keep on ignoring your existing ones. Serious changes need to be made to make PvP a hospitable environment again, which means you need to start seriously listening to your player-base. Stop ignoring your PvP community, it's beyond a joke now. I can't even begin to describe how little respect I have for you as a games company after the way you've treated the PvP community, it's disgusting, it really is. If serious changes aren't made when FTP hits, I'm out of here, and I won't be the only one I can assure you. And that's not even counting all the potential FTP customers PvP will put off right from the get go given the state it's in now. Ignoring the problem won't make it go away, it will however have serious repercussions for the game, like it already has...
  24. No its fine Horing. I was hoping that you weren't being sarcastic, I've had enough thick skulled individuals that only seem to be able to think about themselves to last me a life time.
