  1. There's a lot of negativity in this thread. I'm sorry to see that so many people have had issues with the new content. I returned to check this expansion out along with star fighter combat, and I have to say I'm really enjoying the additional features you've added. It beats STO by a solid mile now, and there's enough diversity in gameplay that I feel like I can spend time doing something different each time I have a chance to login without feeling like it's a redundant grind. Solid job, team. I look forward to future releases.
  2. This is in regards to sage/sorc being able to speed jump the gap after the first door. It feels a bit broken to give 1 class the ability to advance beyond everyone else just by speed jumping the gap after the first door before the bridges are down. I totally understand if a defender is on the other side and a class with the ability to jump to them, jumps over the gap by using their presence - that's defense's fault for opening up the opportunity. But to allow 1 person to outpace all offense and defense and effectively break the flow of the map independently - that just seems a little broken. There's no quick / effective way for defense to counter, short of killing themselves and waiting for the timer on the shield door. Or having someone from the same class on the team. But more than likely the individual that jumped the gap will have already breached one or two more doors. Anyway, I'm sure people disagree. I'd like to hear it.
  3. This game's quality of PvP and balance between classes is actually worse than WoW and Rift. At the moment, when you hit 50, you just grind losses against a ton of Battlemaster geared Sorcs or Sages. Then after each loss you get fewer commendations and make less progress toward your dailies because your team can't compete against full BM. The BMs then get higher rewards that they don't need because they're already geared out. I like SWtoR but the PvP and end game are far far worse than any other game out now.
  4. I agree with some of it. But don't turn these threads into ultimatums to Bioware. It puts people on the defensive when you say "...in order to keep subscribers." For a 13 year old you articulate your points well. Keep up the good work.
  5. Digital download is extremely common these days. It wouldn't surprise me. Do you know if that 600,000 is for standard, dd and collectors?
  6. Estimate came from the latest article in the LA times. Prior to that confirmed numbers had it around 1.5. EA even stated that they had 1.2 million users at launch. Maybe the box estimate you're looking at is physical units purchased from stores. 600,000 is impossible given initial usage numbers. Remember to take into account digital downloads, that should fix your thinking.
  7. This could be good. DAoC frontier was fun. But it doesn't fully address the numbers issue in that Republic is severely outnumbered. Or did DAoC eventually address that? I don't remember,
  8. I'm not so sure Wintergrasp/Tol Barad were major fails. I still actively play WoW and TB is always full each round. People seem to still be enjoying it. But, different experiences... different opinions.
  9. Don't worry about it. And estimates are that it has sold 2.1m boxes at this point. In all honesty though, these angry folks are just trying to cause a stir and shake your confidence (not negative critiquers, you guys are good). Don't let them. If you enjoy the game, keep playing and enjoying it. Don't sweat EA's finances.
  10. I agree. I actually love that the dungeons have story and allow you to impact the end result. Even though after repeating them, you know all the outcomes, it's still one of the most fun I've played.
  11. Given the current issues with PvP imbalance in Ilum, make the zone like Tol Barad in WoW. Seriously, don't flame me. Have Ilum open 12 times a day to 20 - 30 people on each side. Set queues to open 15 minutes prior to the battle. If one side has less than the max, auto balance the number of players from the other faction to match the number of players from the faction with the less than the max (If Empire has 40 queued and Republic has 18 - each side admits 18). Have the battle last roughly 20 minutes. Give it 1:40 downtime to increase anticipation and want for participation. If you make it a limited resource that players queue up to participate in and bring them confidence that teams will be automatically evened out, you'll have more active, eager players and potentially even greater levels of participation from each side. I know what I'm not saying is new, but it works and might help.
  12. Read the post Pablo. Negative criticism is GOOD. You people saying "This game is in the toilet" need to get over your obsessive nature, lose the anger, and get a life.
  13. Community managers. If you have even one suggestion, you're being constructive. If you're just saying "SWTOR is in the toilet" - that's not valuable to anyone.
  14. Alright, so this thread is going to be attacked just by the title, but hear me out. People posting feedback are awesome. Positive feedback is awesome. Negative feedback is equally awesome (I'm sorry you've had a rough time - seriously. I want this community to be large and healthy). This is constructive. Even if it leads to arguing. What's not awesome are people just posting Doomsday scenarios or threads geared toward encouraging people to quit without offering anything constructive. This is destructive and will do nothing but lead to arguing. To those of you engaging in destructive behavior, think about this, for whatever reason you've become obsessed with something you hate. Obsessed. That's not healthy for you. You claim to have quit the game - yet you haven't quit thinking about it. In fact, you're investing hours just seething as you post on these forums, engaging in destructive behaviors for the sake of appeasing your pervasive obsession. Imagine what that's doing to you. Sure, this game isn't perfect. In fact it has quite a few bugs that are still being ironed out. Sure that can make you feel bummed, even angry. But, angry to the point of obsession? To the point where you're investing your spare time to try to destroy a game and company's reputation? It's probably time to take a few hours off from your computer to cool off, get some perspective, and reprioritize. Now, to BW and EA, this isn't healthy for your standing community either, both those offering negative feedback as well as positive. These destructive individuals are serving as an anchor to what should be a forum focused on helping SWTOR players and helping to improve the game. I'm 100% for locking threads that are just rallies for these obsessive/destructive folks to spread their anger. I'm also 100% for banning them when all that they're after is the destruction of this game. You protect us from this spam in game by allowing us to report it, ignore it, and shut it down. Please help us do that here too. Anyone seeking the destruction of a community is of no value to that community.
  15. Don't listen to this guy. He has an opinion. Neat. So do I. I enjoy the RP aspects of this game BECAUSE it's voiced. Otherwise this would be another skip quests to end game mmo, which are already out there. Certainly improve the game - don't lose voice...
  16. Best way to do it if you hate auto charges is to resub, then cancel after confirmation. You then pay for the month and retain your access until that month is up.
  17. So many children throwing temper tantrums on the forums over 1 day of post-patch bugs. It's like none of you have ever played an mmo before.
  18. These people are called "forum bombers". They're the same types that downvoted SWTOR on metacritic 5 days before release, giving it 0's because: 1. They're impatient and don't understand how every feature developed over WoW's 7 years isn't in this game at launch. 2. They're still bitter that their homes were deleted when SWG shut down. 3. Their WoW Gold Farming business won't survive if everyone leaves WoW. 4. They didn't get to play a Wookie. That's about it.
  19. You're throwing a tantrum on a forum.
  20. The servers went offline for a week? Oh wait, no, nothing bad like that has happened. You're just a liar.
  21. Since there's so much fear mongering on these boards I felt I should share my experience after getting home and logging in. 1. Patcher - Downloaded the patch just fine. Took about 15 minutes. No issues. 2. AA - Set Anti-Aliasing to High. Entered the game. Everything's smoother. Framerate's fine. Tried space, tried PvP, tried running around through Correllia. Fine, fine, fine. 3. Ilum - Read the Developers thread suggesting that Ilum is broken for the time being and should be avoided until a fix can be implemented. Considering the patch has been live for less than a day - I'm cool with waiting. No need to pretend like this has been an ongoing issue for months. Some people may have had a different experience. I believe it. But any time a game is patched, there will be some wrinkles to iron out. That doesn't happen immediately, no matter how much you want it to. For those of you worried by all of this fear mongering, 99% of the game's content is in great shape and enjoyable for the greater population whose sole experience is not limited to Ilum. For those whose experience hinged solely on Ilum, give the dev team a couple more days. SWTOR is still better than almost every other MMO on the market. For those of you who are so angry - I'm sorry you've had a rough time. I really am. But your negativity isn't doing anything constructive for this game, this forum, the people who enjoy it, or yourself. Your bug reports are. But not your negativity.
