  1. Aye, we need a mid day ranked scene on this server. Quit your jobs and commit to swtor folks. Breks pt #1 pt
  2. It's absolutely a welcome change. They toned down the damage slightly to compensate for the increased rate of use. I'm almost certain we come out far ahead of whats on live at the moment. Don't be to eager to call a damage decrease a nerf without taking into account the other changes that have been made. Edit: Ah, the poster above me deleted his comments for some reason so i will clarify. FT has had its damaged decreased slightly to compensate for it's increased use. We can now reset the cd of FT with the use of Ambush, a compete cast of SoS and back to back casts of Snipe. So we will be rolling out the FT far more often than we did previously since we had to wait on the agonizingly long cd (6sec). Now we wil be able to drop into cover and really snap out those FT's Snipe (instant) - FT - Ambush - FT - SoS - FT - SoS* - FT. This burst rotation is absolutely brutal. Unless they cut the damage from FT in half we are coming out ahead with these changes. *Reset with whatever that skill at the top of MM is called/
  3. Yep, it's near the top of the lethality tree, just below Wounding Shots. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the new talent in the MM tree that allows Ambush, SoS, and back to back casts of Snipe to reset the cd of Followthrough. I haven't played my sniper in some time and i was only on the pts for a short time today but this new talent seems incredible. Granted, FT already had a super short cd at 6sec but now we will have virtually zero downtime with MM. Drop into cover - instant Snipe - FT - Ambush - FT - SoS - FT Seems pretty great to me. Oh and MM has a talent that increases the crit chance of SoS by 15%. MM has always been my favorite tree and i think i'm going to love it even more.
  4. Can't give every class every tool. Some need to be stronger in certain areas. And as a sniper we have shatter shot. One of the only 2 skills that debuff healing received iirc. You really shouldnt complain about not having anti-healer tools.
  5. I'm definitely not suggesting you bring a dps assassin in place of a tanksin node guarder. Half the value I'm placing on the dps assassin is his ability to pair up with your node guarder and make an attempt on the enemy node in a pinch. Maybe a comp something like this : 1 op healer 1 sorc healer 1 tank jugg 1 assassin (node guard) 1 dps assassin 1 carnage marauder 1 rage jugg/mara 1 powertech or sniper
  6. While dps assassins/shadows cant quite compete with the sheer numbers a pyrotech or smasher can put up i think having an offensive stealth class in your composition makes up for the shortcomings damage wise. As OP mentioned, most ranked games in CW and possibly even Novare result in a stalemated middle node. Having a 2nd stealth class to harass the opponents node is highly valuable imo. Being able to pull your defensive assassin and sending a stealth duo to an enemy controlled node can often turn the tide of a match. Their damage ouptut is even as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The burst potential of full Deception/Wakajinn is excellent. Recklessness and some lucky maul hits can do wonders in assisting the dps train in downing an important target. It's a shame that dps assassins arent being considered as anything other than node guards.
  7. Here's a reply for ya! Nice vid, though unfortunately for me its not super fun watching healer perspective pvp videos. Convince your squad to let you roll concealment in your rateds and you can count me as your #1 fan.
  8. While questing with my assassin on Tatooine i was able to knock two republic players AND their companions into the Sarlacc Pit. It isn't an immediate death when tossed into the pit btw, i had a good 10seconds to taunt them as they died a horrible and hilarious death. Not a WZ moment but still a pvp kill that made me smile.
  9. Nice video. You are clearly a good player who knows how to melt some faces. Most of these clips show you dealing death from the sidelines and free casting to your hearts content though. I'm curious as to how well you fare when pressured by some skilled melee classes. Since most of the folks on the forums agree that mercs have some escape issues i would like to see how handle melee pressure since you are probably a pretty good example of what the class can do when played to its fullest.. Thanks for the vid.
  10. I'm mostly fine with my scrapper at the moment. I play a Infiltration shadow that's equally geared and i would say that scoundrels aren't very far behind at all. Maybe give us a finisher and some way to reset the cd on backblast. Give suckerpunch criticals a 50% chance to reset the cd maybe?. As far as Dirty fighting is concerned i think all that tree needs is another way to generate stacks of upper hand. Bleed criticals have a 30% chance to generate 1 stack of upper hand, this effect cannot occur more than ever 8seconds. I think that would be acceptable, thoughts?
  11. ...not one of the 6 tanky shadows ever even considers applying guard to me.
  12. i truly dislike the internet. if 8 strangers were sitting in a room together playing a huttball match they would be less likely, when the enemy gets the upper hand, to storm out raging about what baddies the others were. behave how you would if you were face to face. which means suppress your selfish and immature nature for the benefit of the community.
  13. Give dirty fighting a try, im absolutely loving it on my scoundrel. It takes a bit of time to set up the dots and then get the wounding shots rolling, but the damage output is much higher than what scrapper can put out post 1.2. Scrapper feels clunky to me now with the long cd on backblast.
  14. excellent video, the opening made me lol. it is so refreshing to see some good vigilance vids. the focus crit montages are boooooring. oh, and the duel with losira was bananas
  15. i really hope server transfers come soon. im on a lightly populated pvp server and after this im sure ill be seeing single digit numbers on the fleet soon.
  16. nice vid wohast, i like the mezz-> freighter flyby combo, ill be trying that out. hit me up for some duels sometime, going up against that hybrid spec would be really interesting. Legskindal WH Sentinel here btw if the forum tag doesnt give it away
  17. the people who tend to roll whatever class is perceived as being the most "OP" usual are seeking the easiest path to success. once they get to 50 and realize they dont have a single button to spam their way to success they will move on. sure warzones will be 6/8 marauders soon, but only 2 of them will be threatening. and a bad merc can stull put out 250k dmg, but a bad marauder will be helpless.
  18. they arent rolling the marauders because of the 1.2patch notes, we werent even what i would call, "buffed" we had our 2 previously inferior trees brought in line with watchman/annihilation. Or at least thats what it seems what was attempted, we will see how it shakes out. The reason you are seeing so many new marauders is that mercs/commandos have, far too often and too easliy, been absolutely slaughtered when squaring off with a marauder. So they perceive the class as far stronger than it actually is because it just happens to be the class that most easily counters them. Thats not to say the class is not powerful, it most certainly is, but it is nowhere near a faceroll to success class that it may be perceived as. So what you will see is all the FOTM players, who seek the path of easiest success and are usually not quite as threatening, is that many of them wont be able to play the class to its fullest potential. I for one am much more confident fighting two poorly played marauders than 2 poorly played mercs. TL;DR Poorly played marauders are among the easiest class to kill and there will soon be many more of them as all the Mercs/Commandos re-roll. Oh and another thing, i would rather fight 15 poorly played marauders and a grumpy rancor than a skilled Powertech. Those are scary.
  19. Quite often now im finding myself on the winning side of a landslide victory, 5-0 huttball or reaching the last doors in voidstar with 5minutes on the clock in round two, and my team is suggesting that we farm the losing side. Now, im not sure about you but ive been on the receiving end of this sort of thing, i know i dont find it to be enjoyable at all. being repeatedly slaughtered just outside of my spawn while the opposing faction abuses us in /say isnt how i want to spend my time. because i would not have it done to me, i will neither participate, nor permit it to be done to the imps while im capable of stopping it. anyone else feel the same? i look forward to being called a carebear...i know its coming
  20. yea...its a shame that many have resigned themselves to the camp-fest on ilum. simply saying that because you are outnumbered you are justified in hiding inside the rep base and pulling imps in for your kills is lazy. enjoyable pvp can be found against overwhelming odds if you have just a slight bit of imagination and are willing to put some effort in. ive encouraged the reps on my server (i play rep btw) to wander the map a bit and give the imps a moving target to chase. take 5-8 people and hit central for a while, this will result in the imp crate collectors calling you out and all 40 imp base campers heading north to wipe you. try to anticipate this, or communicate with the reps down at the base and avoid the huge group. swing around the incoming zerg and join whoever is left at the base in attacking the remaining imp base campers. mobile guerrila tactics are king when you are outnumbered and can result in a great deal of fun.
  21. i love my sentinel so much i think the only alt i can bear to roll will be a marauder.
  22. that looks like a great deal of fun! amazing that you had so many people out and respecting the rules of participation. my server is awful.....but server transfers are coming soon
